—- Many periods of history have passed by before: of freedom’s remoteness, of godhood that is “self-less”. Even then you believe that it’s useless to aspire, that this night of suffocation is to Providence submission! But what would you know, that when lips fail to move, hands arise to life. "Kulliyat-e-Rashid" is a huge book, and an amalgam of four major poetry collections of Noon-Meem-Rashid, ‘Maavara’ (1941), ‘Iran mein ajnabi’ (1955), ‘La barabar insaan’ (1969) and ‘Gumaan ka mumkin’ (1969), as well as some other ghazals and poems which used to get published in 'Adabi Dunya'. Many other literary magazines, such as the ‘Annual of Urdu studies’ and ‘Oriental College Magazine’, have published Rashid’s English translations as well; some of which Rashid translated himself.
