The Dragon Bones

Rate this book
The dragon council has scorched most of the land in their quest to kill off the last of humanity. Now, even other dragons agree that they must be stopped. Unfortunately, the best way to stop them is to team up with the humans in Ytona, a village dedicated entirely to killing dragons and to making use of their magic.

Caleb has been to the village before; the last time he went, he was imprisoned for being a dragon. But when he’s gravely injured in a fight with the council, he has no choice but to entrust his safety to the village while he recovers. Nowhere else is safe.

Now, without Caleb’s silver tongue, Ziya finds herself alone among dragons, thrust into the unenviable position of speaking for all of humanity. She’s not as good as Caleb is at uniting enemies, but she knows she has to try.

It had been nearly one year since I read the first three books, but I remembered largely enough if not every detail.
Yet there was now and then repetitiveness and awkwardness in the characters struggles and relations, this meets a purpose as far as I understand it. Stepping back this is just how one cloud feel dealing with such transformation forced upon them in an already precarious time of their life.
This conclusion to the series meets the previous buildup just right, wether in plot or character development. Many twists are crafted enough that they gave me serious doubt about the outcome I'd been expecting.
Some history behind Ytona is just hinted and would be matter for further books in this world, if there are some oneday.

A great conclusion to the series - the main characters continue to evolve with their relationships with their old and new species.
A few things with the world as a whole appear to have been glossed over a bit, but this didn't really detract from my enjoyment.
There definitely needs to be more books like this.

one of a kind

I’ve read tons of lit rpg/fantasy books and dragon books and a lot of them have dragon riders but this one transcends the theory and puts it in a riveting context for a good cause and I know she took a break with updating the books but I have to write this review now that she is continuing the series I can’t wait
