Being the oldest of ten plus being special wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. When he was attacked at his old job his younger brother jumped to the rescue. Now he’s a special agent for the FBI dealing with trafficking victims, but his past comes to haunt him. How will he deal with it all. With his new partner a man with haunting green eyes and his rambunctious family he’ll realize he’s here for a reason.
Growing up getting the shit kicked out of him shaped the man he became. Instead of following in his father’s footsteps he now leads a team of amazing people who travel the world to find those who have been taken. When he gets a new partner he can’t help but be fascinated with the man. He sees things differently. When a trafficker is killed in jail they need all the help they can get to find the women before it’s too late.
My first official DNF. I always try to finish books, even if I'm not enjoying them. The few reviews on Amazon said it had major grammatical errors. I'm not the best at grammar and usually overlook such things, so I figured it might be okay. Nope. The editing was quite terrible and made it confusing to read. The storyline is interesting with some fun characters and shows promise. I might come back later down the road to see if the series improves.
I tried. This version has a trigger warning at the beginning, and is apparently the re-uploaded edited version. Holy cow. How badly edited/proofed was the *original*? There seems to be a wholesale disdain for commas, the absence of which changed the whole meaning of a sentence. When I have to stop, scratch my head, and reread more than once to identify what was actually meant, it takes me out of a story. The more that happens, the less tolerance I have for each subsequent occurrence. This was enough to make me give up. I also couldn't tell what narrative point of view was actually meant. Third person limited? Third person omniscient? One paragraph would be about Merrick, but limited, then the next paragraph is from Daniel's POV, but with no warning, so you're left wondering how Merrick could know what was happening, because he was asleep. So, again, taken out of the story, to figure out who's thinking or seeing or saying what.
Life is too short to simultaneously edit and read.
I really think this book could be good but I DNF at 20% because of editing. I don't know, I saw it recommended on Facebook and noticed the comments said it was pulled to be re-edited? I don't know but the POV change, and the misuse of some words was a bit too much for me. Unfortunately.
This story and the characters had some potential but there were just too many issues. Firstly, it desperately needs an editor. Yes, I know they cost money but it is just too hard to read when it hasn’t been edited. Even a beta reader to pick up the basic errors would help. Secondly, My favourite part of reading a book with romance is seeing the moments they fall for each other. This book totally skipped the most important part of the story. They met, then fast forward past the most important part and next page they already have a bond and a relationship forming. Thirdly, adding in the other team doing the extraction made the story disjointed. It should have been two separate books. Fourthly, there were some moments that were just really odd. For example, randomly volunteering to adopt a child with zero planning or discussion with your partner. Like I said, there was some potential here, but just too many issues
I truly enjoyed this book. There was a lot going on and I got confused at times. But then I was able to put it together. I love the relationship that Merrick and Danno have. I appreciated that it was throughout the book from the beginning. This is a start to a good series. Hope we hear more of these two but I definitely want more of Ram/ Kade.. also Saint, and everyone else lol. Great side characters and good plot.
Merrick Sloane FBI Team Leader of trafficking unit
Location Anthem River, Texas.
Plotline The MM plot revolves around Danno the oldest Willis Brother searching for a place to call home, both in work and in a life partner. Joining Merrick's trafficking team he finds both. Throw in a previous case of workplace assault and a group of trafficked women and Sebastian has created a very readable story with excellent well rounded characters.
Looking forward to more drama featuring the Willis Family, friends and coworkers, especially more about Kade. WARNING: Please read trigger warnings carefully before getting this book. Book is Free with Kindle Unlimited.
This was good. Editing and grammar don’t mean shit if the story is good some of y’all need to get off ya fucking high horse I don’t see them writing a book. Great job Sebastian! I loved the characters and the whole story line I hope you wrote more.
I really loved this book. I know this the first book the author has written and have to say very impressed. I loved how they incorporated the different characters into the plot. I hope to see them again through out the series
This book has a lot of potential. I definitely would recommend the author get an editor who can fully scan and help the author with making the book more cohesive l, especially with the different POV’s and transitioning into the different situations
I was hooked from the first page, multiple POV's. Great story and I loved all of the extended family and friends. Can't wait for all of their stories. There were a few grammatical and punctuation issues.
This book and the others in series are awesome. Danno and merrick are two characters that pull at your heart. The trials and tribulations that they go through make the happy ending completely worth the emotional roller coaster the reader is put through. Loved it and can’t wait for more.
Loved this book. I loved how the characters were together through the whole thing instead of the whole build up then break up and get back together. Can’t wait for more.
DNF. I really wanted to read this book, the premise was a lot of things I want to read in a MM romance, but I couldn't get past the first chapter with viewpoints changing and poor editing.
You will get all the feels and an emotional roller coaster ride from this book. But! Do read the trigger warnings. It is an awesome action packed book.
I loved this book. It was written in a unique way that allowed the reader to get everyone's thoughts. This book is about Merrick and Daniel. Both are in the FBI. Daniel has some quirks and some OCD. We get to meet everyone in Daniels sweet family. He has 9 brothers and a mother and father who are very supportive. I can't wait to read future books that feature others on in Daniels loving family.
This is the first book I’ve read that was told through all the characters. I enjoyed the fact that the point of view changed so frequently and fluidly. The main story was intriguing and the side characters kept things moving. I look forward to more in the series.
