If I thought being abducted was scary it's nothing compared to being gawked at by aliens everyday. Some of them look like they want to eat me while others look like they want to play with me.
However, there's one male who stares at me with a blazing hunger that’s as bright as his red hair. It makes me think he wants to eat me and play with me in the most sinful ways.
I don't have time for that, but it doesn't stop me from asking for his help. He agrees only if I promise to be his mate.
Yeah, whatever. I'll say and do just about anything to get back to my sister.
Can I walk away from the flames of his desire without getting burned? Or will he make me his, effectively incinerating my intentions to leave?
Miranda Bridges began sneaking romance novels as a teenager and did not confess to reading them until she became a legal adult. After years and years as a voracious reader she woke up one day with a story in mind. She decided to write it down in order to silence her imaginary friends, but they’ve grown in number and have gotten louder. When she is not reading, writing, or drinking coffee she is taking care of two princesses who are of a reading age. Needless to say Miranda is still hiding romance books around the house, but now some of them have her name on the cover.
Blaze and Kayla are sure to set your kindle on fire! 4.5 stars
Holy hotness, Fireblood! This was almost a perfect read for me, but the thing I kept getting hung up on was the timeframe in relation to the first book in this series. I was so confused in the beginning and didn't really find my footing until about 40% in. Other than that, I was completely immersed in Blaze and Kayla's story. Blaze is the ultimate alpha warrior and is willing to do anything to secure his mate's freedom; his powers finally surfacing is just an added bonus. I loved how Kayla was just as much of a hot head as Blaze though and didn't let him dictate her around (too much). I'm stoked for OBSIDIAN next, which is Castien and Jade's story ♡
Blaze and Kayla explodes to flames literally. Blaze believed her sister Khloe was his mate until he realizes it is her twin Kayla who is his mate. He works his magic being a hacker and assigns himself to rescue Kayla from the zoo.
3.5 - 4 stars I realised that I had read these books before when it opened to the end of the book. But I reread it it was so long ago. I enjoy Sci Fi because anything goes. There is wit, humour, action, evil, suspense, tension and more as these alpha men set about finding earth woman that may save them. Earth is dying someone set it on fire. Aliens are looking for the one woman that will awaken their potential but what they find is more than they thought. Along the way they find their mates. A quick and fun read.
Oh, I’m bummed. I liked the first one of this series but this one didn’t live up to it. The plot is jumpy and rushed and I didn’t really like or enjoy either of the main characters. I wish there had been several ice element books, then a switch to fire.
Blaze if the fire element guy from book one who goes to rescue his mate from an alien zoo, gets tricked into staying and ... hijinks. The plot is bumpy and the connection between heroine and hero felt really rushed to me.
Glorified rape factory where the women beg to be used when they see someone who looks lhuman. How is it that women in this day and age are raised without any sense of integrity and actually crave abuse (or misuse) to find satisfaction? Was looking for a good story but instead I stumbled upon this. Lesson learned.
I wasnt a fan of the insta-love in this one. Kayla was ok with everything blaze did (aside from withholding information about her friends), he could have told her to walk off a cliff and she probably would have done it. She wasn't a very strong mc, in my opinion. I skimmed 2/3 of this book because of it, I just wanted to get to Obsidian!!
I have really enjoyed reading through this series. The world and character development were topnotch. The story lines throughout each book has been consistently well paced and definitely keeps you turning pages. The steam level was high, and the author gives the bonus of strong female personalities. I loved the humor, and the references to common pop culture had me laughing out loud at times. Will definitely keep reading not only this series, but other works by Miranda Bridges.
The male didn't see the nd as a person, only as a tool of a means to an end. 70% through the book and he still doesn't care about her at all. He only cares about what she can do for him and that she's a convenient means to get his rocks off. If you're into that sort of thing, great. Not for me.
I am confused I don't know if this was rushed or if I missed something... It's book two when food her sister get partnered... Where did it go from her having the boys for Adam to partnered... I never lose a timeline like this in the many many many books I have read...

Co-written by Miranda Bridges and Kyra Snow, this Elemental Mates series follows elemental aliens and their human female mates. It takes place on Earth during a post-apocalyptic event where a fire wiped out most of humanity and burned the planet, leaving its remaining population starved and desperate. Earth wasn’t just dying; it was also full of people who had gone insane. Everyone resorted to a primitive state and they only cared about survival, doing whatever was necessary to ensure that. That involved murder, rape, theft, and copious amounts of violence. People scavenged for food and took refuge inside compounds against threats from other humans. The Koraxians came to Earth in search of females that were capable of unlocking their elemental potential. Nanobots swept over the Koraxian females, leaving the remaining immortal males unable to access their elemental powers and on the brink of extinction. Their desperation to find compatible alternatives led them to Earth, where they successfully found more than what they were looking for.
Written in first person, Inferno is book 2 in the series, and follows Commander Blaze of the Firebloods and his human mate Kayla. Kayla was a part of Hazel’s group that got abducted by the Torags in book 1. Instead of being sent to the slave planet Lixis like the rest of the captives, she was sent to the planet Guuldor where she was sold to the Master and added to his collection of galactic zoo creatures. Blaze initially mistook Kayla’s twin sister Khloe as his mate because he was drawn to her. After testing Khloe and finding that she wasn’t his match, Blaze was deflated. Then Khloe informed him about her twin Kayla, and Blaze made it his mission to go after her. Blaze hacked Xelias’s assignments and switched with Commander Castien, sending him after Jade instead of Kayla. Blaze and his crew hunted her down inside the zoo. After he located her, he purchased a private session with her to give her the 411. Kayla was doped up on drugs that were supposed to make her compliant. The master discovered Blaze’s plan to break het out, and proposed a deal instead; her life in exchange for his compliance in an upcoming show. Blaze was forced to accept the deal since they implanted an explosive inside her head that would detonate at the press of a button. Everything worked out in the end, and they both managed to escape. Along the way, he discovered that the master possessed powers of the Aetherbloods, who were supposed to be wiped out during the purge.
The couple had their first intercourse in chapter 10, at the 52% mark. The buildup was balanced and kept the reader hooked. The raunchy scenes are the only reason I read this genre of books, so I’m glad the authors didn’t hold back. Blaze’s full potential is unlocked, but there was a side effect (or bonus depending on your perspective); Kayla was transformed into a Koraxian mate, gaining fire powers herself, adapting his hair color and birth marks, along with immortality. After a lot of unnecessary drama, the two admit their love for each other and live happily ever after.
I will say that my biggest pet peeve was the immaturity of Kayla in this book. Are all the women in this series portrayed as young, naive, dumb, stupid broads that give women everywhere a bad reputation? She threw a temper tantrum like a petulant child because Blaze withheld the fact that her sister was alive and well back on Earth. She even took off the bangle (the equivalent to a wedding ring) and gave it back to him. Then refused to talk to him for 3 days. He didn’t straight lie to her, just omitted information. Apparently that was enough for a divorce with this girl. And yes, I say girl because she was definitely not mature enough to be called a woman. Ugh. Her behavior was so frustrating. 🤦♀️
So far, this series is good. Plenty of lust-filled raunch and I like how the authors incorporated magic into an alien romance. I recommend the read. I look forward to reading the next books in the series.

I feel like I just read beta read a second or third run through for fan fiction (I have several years experience) Great potential and the story flows grammatically (that’s why it’s a 2 star review) but it jumps around quite a bit and makes you feel like part of the story is missing. This makes it feel rushed. It also lacks the polish you’d expect when so many books have been written. I honestly didn’t finish after 70% or so because I was making myself read the story. I thought it was me so I started reading books by two other authors that wrote a books in a 4 part series with this one. I love one and the other is pretty good too. I’d try to finish this after finishing each book but after finishing 4 more books I’m still calling it beta fan fiction. I’ve never left a review like this but I want to remember this due to the number of books available. I’m going to attempt to read another in the near future when I finish the current series of one of the authors mentioned above. I’ll change my review if I find it was me being in a book funk but I don’t think that’s the case. I’ll also change it if I find the same style of writing/ flow/ language to be the same as this book because that’s a personal opinion (like/dislike of a reader) and I don’t let those effect my reviews (unless they use trigger situations as the basis for a plot without warning readers in advance). My review is choppy because I kept changing this around and I’m on a mobile device. So 2 starts because the makings of a story and talent to do so are there. I only give 4 stars (now not in the past) now unless the author (1) writes something very unique that stands apart from the norm (2) I have a develop a strong attachment to characters and the world they reside in (3) the story is un-put-down-able (4) it’s a very beloved author and series that continues throughout multiple books. This is only my opinion so of course don’t let this stop you from reading and enjoying this story. My reviews are more of a reminder for me for the most part as I don’t always leave them but I want to be sure to change this if I find myself disagreeing later as the author deserves honest bipartisan reviews. I read/listen one average to at least one book a day because of my life style/career/commute. I have multiple college degrees - all are mathematical/ none in literature so I am educated but not an expert- just an avid reader and lover of books. You should also know I rarely respond to comments so please don’t be upset if you ask a question. I just don’t have the time as I could be reading a book instead. Happy reading.
Well I told myself after the awfulness of the heroine in the first book I wasn't gonna continue this series but I was bored and Blaze seemed far more interesting than everyone in book one. So, I did the thing. And I surprisingly didn't hate it. Did I like it though?? Meh.
Blaze was great. All what I expected from his type of personality. He didn't disappoint at all. The heroine Kayla was 100x more likeable and tolerable than Hazel was in book one. She definitely complemented him well.
And for that I mostly enjoyed the whole book until about 80% in when low and behold no one was shocked when the author pulled the poorly executed plot device. Blaze hardly "lied" to Kayla by not telling her all her "family" was safe on earth until they were on their way back. Sure, he didn't mention he'd met her sister and she was safe directly after meeting her but damn they were both being held captive and manipulated and he was plotting how to get them both free. Fucks sake when was he supposed to just bare all those details? Kayla threw a teenage fit over this and then claimed he was just trying to fuck her to get his full potential and didn't care about her. Sure... I mean he only flew across the galaxy on a 98% hunch you were his mate, treated you like a queen, fucked you like a pornstar AND rescued your ass while giving you immortality and fire powers by mating you. Gosh, I mean he was so selfish and horrible, right??? 🤦♀️ Besides, when exactly was he supposed to learn that Hazel, Adam and Jade were part of her "family" huh? The only thing she had a right to be upset over was not bringing up her sister sooner to ease her mind. But naturally the author used that as a device and created some half assed excuse that he was afraid of losing her because she'd obviously drop him so fast to stay with her sister when he inevitably had to leave Earth. So that's why he supposedly lied. Whatever.
Her outrage and upset was ridiculously over dramatic and unwarranted. Especially her thoughts of how she was done with him and how he betrayed her. Bitch, please. You lived through basically an fire apocalypse and being abducted by aliens and shipped to another planet and you're upset over THIS?? Again, whatever.
Besides, once again the characters lacked any depth. One dimensional. Blah.
Might read another book one day if I'm supppper bored but I'm afraid the next heroines are gonna be all timid and whiny and remind me of Hazel. So, then again maybe not. I'm clearly a masochist to keep trying this series.
I didn’t like this book, although the ideas for this world and powers had potential.
Kayla is taken and imprisoned in an alien zoo. Blaze is sure that she’s his mate, so he goes looking for her despite being assigned a different mission. They meet, it’s insta-love, they manage to escape, there’s the inevitable conflict and they make up.
I didn’t like either of the main characters. It didn’t feel like Kayla’s character was fully developed. At the beginning, she seemed capable and outspoken. Then when she’s captured, she gets drugged to be more compliant, but sometimes it felt like she could act against the drugs and after they were gone from her system, it occasionally seemed like she was still on them. Blaze didn’t really have a character apart from being obsessed with getting his mate and being at his true potential. He was a commander, and it talked about how nothing was handed to him and how he had to work for everything he had, but none of his actions seemed well thought out.
The plot with the zoo wasn’t well thought out either –
The conflict was completely pointless and seemed like something that only happened to check off a checklist. It was obvious that Kayla was going to be angry, but then one short conversation with Hazel and Khloe and everything was great again.
I didn’t like this book and while the powers might be interesting, I’m not continuing with the series because I don’t like the way it’s written.
Inferno: Elemental Mates Book 2 By Miranda Bridges & Kyra Snow Kindle unlimited purchase Kayla, her twin sister, and their friend's lives have changed since the fires destroyed Earth. Kayla has been shouldering the burden of looking out for her sister it would be so nice to have someone watch over her and put her best interests first. But can she put her trust in an alien that says he is here to save her from being an exhibit in a Zoo? Blaze is on a mission to save the woman he thinks can unlock his potential. He thought it was her twin but when he found out that it was Kayla he set out to save her at no cost. This was a great story. It took a powerful connection between them to get through what they did. But I'm very grateful to Miranda Bridges and Kyra Snow for not going with the option of going overboard with triggers left and right. So I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK to readers that HAVE TRIGGER reactions. Yes, they are in a zoo exhibit, but the MASTER put a NO penetration rule which saved the ulcers going with a big trigger book. In my opinion, this is very low on my trigger meter so low I give it a 0. Elemental Mates: Glacier Inferno Obsidian Aug 24, 2020
The flames burn bright in this second Elemental Mates book 💖🔥🔥🔥
Blaze is a Fireblood elemental who felt a connection to Kayla from the first minute he was her. Just like in the first book these males start out looking for a female that will unlock their power, what they actually find at fated mates that will ultimately mean more to them than the powers they seek to achieve. Kayla is one of the original ladies that we saw in the first book and at the end her and her twin are snatched by the lizard aliens to be sold. Kayla is sold to a zoo and is put on display. Blaze sets off to find her and when he sees her he knows beyond the shadows of a doubt that she belongs to him. He gets himself into the zoo and when they see one another the fires burn 🔥brightly, you could say the blaze between them.. It's an adventure, there is danger , mystery and so much passion it's very much sight reading. I actually like this book even more than the first one Blaze's realization that Kayla means more to him than anything else is wonderful to watch and Kayla is strong and fierce with a fire all her own they are a perfect match💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
There are some conflicting story details which derail readers from the plot concerning the male character, Blaze. In the first book, Blaze's eyes are described as coal, then several chapters later they are described as being crimson colored. Now, here in this book, they are described as amber colored. His attitude is also crass and obnoxious. Like the male lead in the previous book, this alien also regurgitates a shocking amount of American slang and euphemisms despite this being the first contact with humans. Details like that detract away from the story making it appear sloppy and confusing.
I did finish the book, though, and despite being told the characters are alien yet they act, speak and behave exactly like modern day 20yo men, the plot was okay. Less intriguing than the first book, but I am still willing to read the next on the series.
This is book two in the series. The world building/back story is going well. The MMC is loud, lewd, brash, and selfish - the authors do a good job of being consistent with him until the very end of the book when we finally get to see him grow up a little. He withheld information from the MFC that nearly breaks their relationship. But he truly seems to regret his actions and, of course, she forgives him.
I found her character a little frustrating. She comes across as powerful with her sister in the beginning, but she seems incredibly submissive with the MMC. She gets some spine back when she finds out he lies and she says they are through, but it's the inconsistency of her character that bugs me. It's almost like the MMC's personality is so dominating, the MFC has to become smaller to fit on the page with him.
I hate plots where 80+ % of the book has the characters locked up at the mercy of their captors. So that is what this plot is and I would have put a 2 minus star except I like the authors characters and they are interesting. The love scenes are not great when they are forced to do it under being captured. I also thought the last scene where the heroine throws a fit and separates from the hero was ridiculous. The reason for this is really silly given the situation everyone was in. It also seemed out of character. I really like this author but every once in a while she has a big miss.
Blaze. I knew from the book Glacier, he was going to be a difficult character to like. I was correct. His only saving grace is his love for his mate. He’s reckless at times and has a “dominant” personality. This doesn’t seem to bother Kayla but, it does me. His choice to not reveal that he had met Kayla’s twin and what she told him to say to Kayla to let her know he had spoken with Khloe was a poor one. But, they ended up with a happily ever after and this is all that matters in a romance. There is a lot of action and sexy times. If this offends you, this may not be the book for you.
When he realize that the girl wasn't his mate but her twin he had to go after her. He'd fixed it that he was going after her instead of another commander. He finds her in an zoo as an exhibit so he with the help of his crew to get her out. He ended up being blackmailed by the master, the owner of the zoo. She was easy accepting that they are mates when he tells her. She helps him get hus full powers and she gotten a few of his. They were able to escape with their fire power and his crew and bury the zoo down and figuring out that the master is part of a race that was expelled. So now a mystery to solve about a race and finding the other human womem.
🛸 Being abducted is terrifying enough—but being put in a literal zoo? 🛸
The chemistry between these two is magnetic. Every interaction sizzles with tension, desire, and just the right touch of emotional vulnerability. She’s desperate to reunite with her sister, but the deeper she gets involved with her would-be savior, the harder it becomes to separate survival from seduction. Perfect balance of heat, heart, and sci-fi. There’s danger, longing, and moments of connection that sneak up on you between the action. Interesting to see the change from the MMCs just needing the females to get their power to loving them as mates.
I was lucky enough to get an ARC of Inferno. What an amazing story! The first book of the serie was about Hazel and Xelias, the Icebloods commander, first to find his fated mate. In this second book, we follow Blaze, the hot tempered commander of the Firebloods, in his quest to save Kayla from a strange alien zoo. The story is captivating and original, both main characters are strong, powerful and their chemistry is off the charts. I couldn't and wouldn't put the book down until it was finished! I strongly recommend this book, you can't go wrong with a new serie from Miranda Bridges!
From the moment that I picked up this book and started reading, I was hooked and could not put it down. I proceeded to finish it in one sitting. It moves along at a fantastic pace which made for an easy read. You will fall in love with these characters and want to know more about them. You feel as though you are part of the story and are actually there. The story will keep you reading and you will not be able to put it down until the very last page is read. this book needs to be read. You will not be sorry that you did.
I'm enjoying this series. I love that each book can be read within a fairly short amount of time. Since my schedule is so hectic i like to save longer books for an empty day that way i don't have to spend days rationing out my reading.
“I’ve spent all this time looking for my mate only to find her drugged and delirious,” he mutters. He drops his hands and takes a step back, his mouth pulled down. “If Xelias could see me now, he’d laugh at me being the one wanting to cool it on the sex. Un- fucking- believable.”
Kayla is spoiled and entitled. After all Blaze did to save her, she gets mad because he didn't tell her about her family immediately, as if he didn't have to worry about saving her behind and his. All she had to do was lay on her back and get rescued. Then he had the weakness of mind to be worried about her temper tandrum!!! I wanted to tell him to leave her in the zoo or taking her whiney bratty behind back to the zoo. He needs a strong ADULT woman not a self absorbed wanna be princess.
After Kayla got abducted she finds herself in an alien Zoo and she is one of the exhibits. But then a man with fire red hair appears and promises her to get her out because she is his mate.
This was definitely better then the first book. I liked the characters way more, though Kayla was a little annoying sometimes.
The story was good but nothing outstanding.
So yeah not much to say about this. It’s good but that’s it. As for the series I don’t think I will continue it. There is such much out there I prefer to read.
I was so excited to read about Blaze and Kayla; since first meeting Blaze I couldn’t wait for his ego to take a massive hit when he found his mate! Oh the satisfaction that came when he found Kayla was awesome!! Though I really kind of expected more excitement and action for Blaze’s story; he seemed like a such a cocky jerk but he’s more of softy blazing hot softy!
