T.L. Mayhew

TL Mayhew is a Contemporary and Dark Romance writer from Nebraska. Her love for reading started back in elementary school when her favorite books, The Black Stallion, Black Beauty and Misty of Chincoteague all seemed to have one theme... a horse as the leading character. It's fair to say that since then her reading tastes have changed and now, instead of a horse as the leading character it's a hot alpha.

In high school TL took a creative writing class where she received high praise for her work. At that same time though, boys caught her interest and any urge to write went via the way side.

It wasn't until she married and had two kids, that TL put any thought in to writing. And even then it was close to a year before any words were put on paper. Amazingly those words were the direct result of a question "Do you want to give it a try?" from an Author TL idolizes. If it weren't for that question she may never have realized her love for writing and wouldn't have her first work releasing in January 2018.

This duet was great! I really enjoyed how Found started right where Taken had left off. TL Mayhew certainly knows how to get one invested in a story. Even now in book two, I was worried about the 30 percent mark, where this story was going to go but she turned that around and I was anxious to keep reading and learn what happens next!

One of biggest detergents for a lack of a better rating was all the lose ends left at the end of the story. I really wish there was a closing to several of my secondary characters. It would appear only Jerrod got an ending or a direction of where his life was headed. Austin, dropped off toward the end of the story and nothing else was said about her. The same thing with Suzanne, Grace, and Andrew and even Jamison! I would have loved even a sentence of their whereabouts in Mira and Samuels happily ever after even if they were to ever get a story of their own. With all of that, One of the biggest issues with lack of concluding, was on Mira’s father. He appeared as a quick cameo in one scene and mentioned then mentioned again in a turning point of the story, then NOTHING. Did Samuel even pass on that information to Mira? Did she and grace have a chat? Does she know the truth? I really needed something. For these reasons, despite the wild ride the Midwest Sins Duet took me on, I can’t stand lose ends. It really impacted my star rating on opinion on this story.

I will keep reading more from this author and I hope every story helps her perfect her craft! She’s off to an excellent start as a newer author and she’s on my watchlist for sure.

YES, YES, YES! I was waiting patiently for the conclusion to Taken (Book#1). My patience has been rewarded! What a phenomenal read! From the time I read the first page, I was on the edge of my seat, overwhelmed by the tension and darkness this story was throwing at me. The action was non-stop, the terror felt real, and I wasn't sure how I was going to get anything done before finishing this book. Unfortunately for me, I had to find a way to fit my real life in here somewhere. So, in between my boring daily routine, I used every free minute to read and reel from the overwhelming excitement of this story. As I read on, I found there were a few down times where my heart beat a bit slower and I was able to breathe with ease. But then, the roller coaster ride would return and there I was turning page after page, barely breathing along the way. I loved these multi-faceted characters and their twisted, dark story. There's a lot going on here, and figuring it all out had my mind spinning. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and hope you will too! Found is a delicious, definite MUST-READ!

I've been waiting for this book since the last page of Taken last fall. I had to know if Samuel would rescue Mira from her abusive ex and win her over. T.L. Mayhew picks up the story exactly where Taken leaves off. Samuel is frantically searching for Mira and the men who took her. What happens after her abduction no walk in the park for Mira, but throughout the book her character grows and realizes there is something about Samuel she cannot let go of. After doing the hardest thing he's ever done, Samuel finds he needs to sort his life and all of his conflicting feelings.
This book has it all: a tight, well-paced storyline, well-developed characters, and enough twists and turns to keep the reader on the edge of their seat. While the road is rocky for Samuel and Mira, the journey is worth their reward in the end. I can't wait to see what Ms. Mayhew has up her sleeve in the future.

This book wasn't my favorite of the duet. This one was a lot less dark, and it kind of drug a little bit. I feel like the attraction Jarrod had was randomly thrown in there. However, it was a grea read. I liked Samuel and Mira a lot!

I was so excited to dive into this book after reading Taken. T.L. doesn't disappoint in book two either. She kept the action coming, the love in all the right places and gave plenty of plot twists along the way. I was fully captured in this story, and couldn't put the book down. So much I want to say but I don't want to give any spoilers away so just take my word for it that this is a must read!
