This book covers a topic that is often brushed under the rug. Domestic abuse happens every day and is not just about the physical. Emotional and mental abuse can do more harm and have long term effects. While the writing style wasn’t the greatest the author did a great job in broaching a very difficult subject. There were some details that were way off base, like no woman is going to have 20 Os in one hanky session. However the reviews crying about this book being filth and untrue are likely mad because it made them realize they are the abusive ones.
Went into this book mostly blind due to no blurb so i had no clue what it was about, not sure i really like the writing style, and while i know everyone has their own religious/spiritual beliefs i however think it’s all a crock of sh!t sorry not sorry
This book was good. It hits on the topic of domestic abuse. I liked that this book had short chapters but they where full of impactful things. This was a strong book.
even though this story was longer than I was expecting, it was a good read. A mother of two, lived her life with an abusive husband. She never thought of him as abusive, just not a happy person. Many events occur in which she finally has a clear view on how terrible this man actually is to her and their family. Turns out, he’s worth than she actually thought.
This read contains rape, and other abusive behaviors including sexual, verbal(emotional), mental, and physical.
I don’t like how the story dragged on in some parts, but it was so good to see that women can and are able to get out of horrible relationships.
✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧ my thoughts ✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧ Overall a really good read. I’ll never not like a book that shines light on domestic abuse and escaping the cycle. It’s a serious topic that needs to be shown more in the light as it’s so common.
However, the writing style was a bit unenjoyable and would kill the mood in some scenes for me. I also found that some chapters or scenes would draggggg along unnecessary. I found myself skimming chapters after I got to a certain point. If the writing was better, I’d have rated it higher.
