Step 3: Destroy the evil spider goddess who controls this world

Yesterday I was an emaciated cleaner who hadn’t seen the sun in years. Today I’m a jacked, virile barbarian, with rippling muscles and bronzed skin.

While cleaning the mansion of the late billionaire game designer, I found a secret world. Banned in 27 countries for having fully conscious NPCs, that didn’t stop the mad genius from making his own personal heaven: a world where seconds in the “real world” can be a lifetime in game. A world where he could be a conquering hero or tyrant, using the fully conscious NPCs as his toys and playthings, slaying monsters while building a harem of gorgeous women: from tall, bratty, model-like spear-women who test your patience, to stacked, voluptuous women milked to sustain the villages, seductive sorceresses who ensnare, and innocent, doe-eyed women sweeter than honey with a little bit of a mean streak when it comes to bratty spear-women.

To Cate's, it was heaven. To the NPCs, it's hell. The world is oppressed by an all-powerful spider goddess: The Mother. She demands their first-born son as tribute, turning them into her twisted soldiers, resulting in villages overloaded with women and doughy, weak men who hide behind the protection of the walls.

Dante Cates, the infamous game designer, died before he ever got to play his game. Now I’m trapped it in: and the only way out is death or victory.

When I step into the character, I forget the outside world. I instantly become the man I was meant to be. The sophisticated VR suit scanned me, and optimized my testosterone and hormones to create the avatar of my peak genetic maximum. I become me, if I had spent the last decade working out in the sun, eating meat and eggs instead of cereal and take-out pizza.

And for the first time in my life, I have a purpose. I have women depending on me. Women who look up to me with respect and awe, unable to resist their primal attraction to a barbaric, masculine man in a feminized world.

Get this book if you like a litrpg harem fantasy with unconventional relationships, proud spear-maidens, seductive sorceresses, and desperate, repressed cougars. 18+.

I enjoyed this one more than I expected to. The main character is your typical underdog who suddenly has the means to achieve his "genetic maximum" potential through VR technology so flawless that it even (mostly) prevents him from remembering the real world. The beautiful women abound as well as opportunities to show off how awesome he is.

The missing star was due to how short the book is. The first four chapters are all setup, so the real action doesn't begin until chapter five, and the book only has twenty-two chapters to begin with. There was no real climax to the story, and it ended on a cliff-hanger of sorts, so it just felt a little like like an intro to a story rather than a story on its own.

I think this was pretty decent for a first book. I really liked all of the background of the VR setup - I thought it was pretty well thought out. My main quibble with this is that it's pretty short! I read it on kindle unlimited so I breezed through it pretty quick. I'd feel weird if I paid for it outright.

Excellent well written and inventive story

Loved it. I’m very much looking forward to the follow up hoping it can continue to surprise. Liked the characters and whole raunchy approach.
