Theophilus Monroe is a fantasy author with a knack for real-life characters whose supernatural experiences speak to the pangs of ordinary life. After earning his Ph.D. in Theology, he decided that academic treatises that no one will read (beyond other academics) was a dull way to spend his life. So, he began using his background in religious studies to create new worlds and forms of magic-informed by religious myths, ancient and modern-that would intrigue readers, inspire imaginations, and speak to real-world problems in fantastical ways.
...this story got way too convoluted. The twists and rollbacks seemed innumerable and I started feeling like a corkscrew. I finally just gave up on keeping track of who was where and doing what and just kept reading til it started making sense again.
I’m starting to lose track of everyone except, you guessed it, Zoey… don’t get me wrong, the series is quite the adventure, but it gets muddier and muddier with each page turn… hopefully it will make sense again til the end…
Wow, these books really do keep getting better and better! Zoey and her friends are up against gods, vampires and a werewolf now and there are so many twists and turns my head is still spinning! We don't see much of Kevin or Josephine in this book and there's very little mention of Zoey's dad the retired grim reaper but there is plenty of action and some new characters as well as ones from previous books in the series. I can't wait too read the next one and see what happens next!
