Having explored numerous books about personal finance, I found this one to be the most comprehensive in its coverage of the topic. While it didn't introduce me to groundbreaking concepts, its depth of information is truly impressive. If you're new to the subject of personal finance, I wholeheartedly recommend this book as an invaluable starting point.
Very insightful and highly recommended book from a young Latina from the Bronx. If you’re looking to start your own business or get your finances in order, this is made for you.
This is a great beginners book, covering topics from budgeting, emergency savings and investing. I really appreciate her talking about her struggles to financial success from her humble beginning. I read and listen to other financial advisers and they were really dismissive of an expensive education. Cynthia in the other hand was familiar with taking out massive loans. For some people an education is the right investment.
I loved the structure of this book! It is truly a guide to build wealth filled with relatable tidbits from my favorite finfluencers. I bought a copy for my brother that teaches a Financial Education course to high school students because it is filled with gems that students need to know prior to signing up for student loans.
The author leads by example. She writes this book with her greater community in mind and is supported by likeminded experts. While sharing her own financial journey, she also addresses immigrant finances and she does so with care (clutter, unpaid work, wealth gaps, identity fraud, elder care, entrepreneurship, and more). Overall an insightful book that can help many of a similar background.
