The self-care mindset begins with growing your self-awareness.
It is not about achieving the fantasy of a perfect 50/50 work-life balance.
I really enjoyed this book cause it is unique and different than most other self-help books that touch on similar topics.
Jeanette believes the act of self care should not be taking time out of our day for our health but it’s how we work with our mind all day long to stay calm and collected and productive.
The sole act of needing to take a day off is not sustainable.
We should be able to perform highly at work and at home without needing to dedicate a full day to caring for ourselves.

A well put together self care book that is up to date and current with self care post pandemic. I am delighted that an author has taken the approach to speaking about the changes that need to happen in self care after the pandemic and the challenges each of us face now to best help cope with the experiences brought about with this worldwide crisis. The narrative is from the perspective of the author, Jeanette Bronze and her personal story of challenges she faced and she uses these experiences as examples to explain different factors of self care. The final chapters are focused on tools for the reader to implement into their daily lives.
This book is a great read with it's new approach to self-care. The more we know and get in touch with ourselves with what we need, we then can grow, prosper, and live a happier healthier more productive life. Once we are out of survival mode, we can address our needs and watch our mindset grow and we thrive. I highly recommend this book and the fresh perspective on self-care.
Definitely a refreshing and transformative perspective on self-care that challenges traditional notions. Bronée demonstrates that self-care is not just a checklist of external habits, but rather a mindset that can empower us to achieve peak performance, engagement, and growth without compromising our health and happiness.
An excellent book that anyone who works, especially in a corporate office, should read. A lot of it was stuff I’ve believed for a long time and many of the tools are ones you can actually apply to real life.
