Open Your Mind

Rate this book
Buddhadharma begins with faith. That is why having authored two hundred and twenty-six books, I still write about “generating faith” because “faith is the mother of all achievements and virtue.” I use true stories of these spiritual responses to guide people to enter the state of the “correct faith” of the Buddhadharma. Why practice Buddhism and cultivate? Human life is about the suffering of birth, aging, sickness, and death. Suffering, emptiness and impermanence. After exploring the true meaning of life, I feel that enjoyment is very brief. Life is very short and it is very much a dream-like illusion. With the aim of achieving breakthrough in the purpose of life, it is from these experiences that the mind of vigilance is developed to resolve the question of life and death. This is really the act of a wise person. I have truly experienced within life’s short span, the most valuable thing is actually to cultivate with tenacity and perseverance, thereby obtaining self-mastery over life and death, realizing one’s mind and seeing one’s Buddha-nature, and achieving ultimate sovereignty. ~ Living Buddha Lian-sheng Sheng-yen Lu
