If a man wants to date Leah Burgess, he’d better be rich, handsome, and dress to kill. Kevin ticks precisely none of those boxes, but when a surveillance operation goes wrong, Leah’s forced to spend more time with him—and his unruly dog—than she’d like. Can Kevin convince Leah to take a chance on a regular guy?

Hydrogen is a standalone romantic comedy novel with a hint of suspense.

Elise Noble is an English rose with a few thorns who loves chocolate, sleep, and well-defined abs. Not hers, unfortunately. She lives near London with a horse who eats all her money and three dogs who eat everything else.

Elise writes real, gutsy heroines and flawed but swoon-worthy heroes in stories that mix mystery and mayhem, humour and happily-ever-afters.

This is a Blackwood security book written by Elise Noble and it is amazing! It's Lennox and Leah's story, but like usual we got to see many of the familiar characters. These books are all stand alone books but you definitely get more out of the story by reading the previous ones! I'm always excited anytime I get to see black and Emmy. Leah is soooo relatable and totally adorable and I love how dorky Lennox is. Also I think I'm in love with sol. 🤔 lol
It's a quick fun read. I read it in 6 hours but that's because I couldn't put it down. It will make you laugh, cry, yell, and smile. But mostly laugh. This is definitely a must read!
**I was given an ARC by the author for my honest review.**

From the moment I opened this book, ok, it is an Ebook so I can't physically turn over a page but modern day wonders allows the same experiences with a digital book as to a hard copy and it is still the same feeling of euphoria when your senses are thrilled by a fantastic plot and truly wonderful characters. I would have to say author Elise Noble has well and truly found her winning formula for writing such entertaining stories to capture her audience. Literally with each page the story gets better and better not wanting the reader to let up and take a moment to stop, maybe to quietly reflect upon the plotline or the characters but certainly not out of boredom. I've learnt now with Elise's works she will have you experiencing several emotions throughout a scenario within the plot. Sometimes it is from a character, a single comment made or simply just the whole encounter. Admittedly I have come to learn about all her characters which only makes the whole experience of each and every new story even better, but in saying that, anyone new to Elise's creative world of Blackwood security can easily pick up this new release and successfully navigate through the story.
If you enjoy the themes of quirky romantic hook- ups, moral fights for good and justice, the idea of extended family and loyalty support, light comedic moments and lots of sexual tensions with a HEA then this definitely would not disappoint. The personnel from Blackwood security never fail to disappoint me and honestly how wonderful life would be if they were real!

I received an advanced reader copy for an honest review.

Hydrogen is a funny, charming, and intelligent comedy that guarantees a few hours of great entertainment.
The story is about Leah, one of Blackwood's secretaries, a sweet and generous young woman with an admirable spirit of sacrifice and a great heart. Leah is unaware of her strengths and abilities, revealing unexpected resourcefulness and brilliance as the story develops. After a difficult childhood, having succeeded at supporting her two young siblings throughout the university, Leah's life objective is to secure financial security by finding a wealthy husband. Life, however, has other plans.
The character of her co-protagonist, "Dog Guy," is a witty representation of a geeky personality, introvert and passionate about his job, extraordinarily clever but naive and a little awkward outside his comfort zone.
Finally, the best character in the book is probably Brian, Dog Guy's pet, a sweet, uncontrollable, hilarious dog that has a pivotal role in many of the events in the story.
Most of the Blackwood team makes a guest appearance in the story, contributing with their team spirit, mirthful office dynamics, humanity, and generosity.
In short, Hydrogen is another excellent story from Ms. Noble, perfect for entertainment and relaxation and more than a few good laughs.

I loved this book from start to finish. When a book includes a great dog with a character all of its own, romance, drama, humour, mystery, and action all rolled into one, what is not to love?
As always, the author keeps the reader engaged at all times, eager to keep on reading (until the sun comes up if necessary). I don't believe in recapping the synopsis or storyline as that is in the description of the book. This can be read as a stand-alone book, but I highly recommend other books in the Blackwood Elements and Blackwood Security series as there are many familiar characters in the books. In fact, I recommend reading everything Elise Noble has written. She has a certain flair for making each book so engaging and never boring, well-paced with colourful characters that you really feel as though you know personally. I think having Brian (the dog) made this one of my favourite stories as I could just picture all his antics described in the book, especially as I am an animal lover.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book with many thanks to Elise Noble. The opinions expressed are mine alone.

Hydrogen is the tenth Blackwood Elements book and whilst it can be read as a stand-alone I seriously recommend that you read the previous books too. Not only are they brilliant, they also give you the back stories of the recurring characters.

Leah works for Dan at Blackwood Security. Kevin is the PA to a millionaire tech geek when they meet, they are both lying. Brian is the most adorable canine waste disposal disguised as a very large dog.. he will eat everything! What follows is absolutely fabulous. No spoilers .. you really need to read this book.

This book is everything you want from a Blackwood book from the very beginning but as the story progresses it becomes a book you just cannot put down. I definitely recommend it to all Elise Noble fans and anyone who loves a really good book full of brilliant characters, an original storyline, flashes of quirky and a dash of sparkle. 5* all they way.

What happens when a dork and an executive assistant, both of whom lack confidence in themselves, are brought together by the klutziest dog, only for both of them to pretend to be someone they aren't? When the sparks start flying the lies get more and more awkward and both have some rethinking to do. This is a hilarious story penned by the always entertaining Elise Noble, who peppers the pages with humour, snark, ridiculous situations - swamp monster, anyone?, beautifully detailed characters, and a tale that takes the main characters through the wringer and out the other side. Make sure you have time to read this book, as you won't want to put it down. I wish the Blackwood world was real and I was lucky enough to be part of it!

No surprise - Elise Noble delivers again! Her captivating and humorous writing style keeps you turning the pages long after a reasonable bedtime. Leah is a wonderful character, and her new beau is adokably clueless. Yes, that's a word. And - who can resist a story with a lovable, derpy dog? My favorite new Eliseisms from this story are having the "ethics of a seagull" and two people having the "combined IQ of a grasshopper".

The story does include characters from other Elise Noble legal addictive stimulants, but the story also stands perfectly well alone.

Now, let's hope for stories about several of the new characters Tally, Laken, Haris and Sol.

What happens when two people meet, and can’t be honest with each other? In the real world probably nothing, but in the world created by Elise, much hilarity, misunderstanding and pulling of heart strings. You always know the quality of a person based on how the dog reacts though, so it’s never as simple as it first seems.
I love how some of Elise’s books take you through a journey where the main characters take a position on something then get shown just how wrong they were. You always think you know what’s gonna happen, and often you do get the end outcome right, but the journey there is always a blast.
Highly recommend.

Another great story from Elise Noble! This is a sweet romance between two likable characters, a little mystery, a touch of suspense, great dialogue and a dog! What is not to love about all of that? You could read this book as a standalone, but once you are done you are going to want to go back and read the rest of the Blackwood Security and Elements series just to get the scoop on characters like Emmy, Dan, Sloane and Black. Hydrogen is a fast and fun read perfect for anytime!

Another awesome book

I love all the Blackwood series, I adore the romance, I find the characters are very different and fully rounded individuals, but I have to ask if by any chance Elise if you read this could you find happiness for Pippa from the Xav and Georgia book, I've always felt so sorry for her and she got a mention in this book again and it reminded me again, I'm sure you can find someone perfect for her xxx thanks

Leah and Lennoxx (Kevin) he wasn’t what she wanted she always dreamed of a rich handsome sophisticated man; not the handsome geek who was a PA just like her. But when you find Mr Right you eventually fall in love. But relationships are never built on secrets. What happens when all is revealed will there love last or not??

Leah gets pull into undercover work when her boss spots a golden opportunity to get a lead for their case. Lennox can't pass up the offer when a new dog walker falls into his life. Brian is a chaotic but sweet dog that provides humor throughout the book.

Romance blooms but threatens to wither and die with the lies of both sides. Fun mystery with lots of Blackwood characters throughout.

This did not seem like the normal Blackwood story but was still a great read. Elise is a phenomenal story teller. Lennox and Leah's story was not the conventional boy meets girl and falls in love story but loved the way they met. It is always great to see the non-main characters get their storyline told.

Funny and sweet!
I laughed out loud so many times when reading this one!
The mix of sweet and funny with a bit of added suspense makes book 10 in the Blackwood Elements Series very much worth it. And it even has an adorable and overly friendly dog in it - what’s not to like?

The way Lara and dog guy meet made me laugh but being soaked by a dog who was swimming in a lake must have been disgusting. However Lara is working surveillance and scores the jackpot when dog guy aka Kevin takes her to his apartment which is next to the person they're suspecting to have stolen jewellery. Unfortunately she has to come up with a cover story and so the lying starts.. only she doesn't know that she's not the only one lying.

Grab this ebook if you want to know what the suspect is really up to, what Kevin is hiding and how Lara spins herself deeper and deeper into her undercover persona.

I was lucky to get a free advance copy of this ebook and this is my honest review. I haven't read a book by Elise that I didn't like and I also bought a few.

A crazy energetic dog! A reluctant undercover investigator! And a man who is afraid he may be sued! Mix these ingredients together! And the result is another fantastic book. Elise Noble always creates a great story by blending excitement, humor and romance.

I'm a big fan of Elise Noble as love the combination of humor and mystery that she produces. Characters are very believable and I'm sure a lot of people would be able relate to Leah with her list of what she wants in a partner.
While Hydrogen is written in the Blackwood world with cameo's of the Blackwood security team it is easily able to be read as a standalone book and I actually think would be a good book for someone who hasn't read Elise's books to start on then go and start at the actual chronological start ;)
If you are looking for a light enjoyable read with humor, strong character development and well crafted story lines I recommend grabbing Hydrogen and reading Leah and Kevin's story.

Hydrogen (Blackwood Elements 10) by Elise Noble

This is a delightful lighthearted book which has you chuckling at Kevin’s adorkableness. Seriously, who doesn’t love a good looking guy who is shy around the opposite sex. I enjoyed the banter and chemistry between Leah and Kevin, all thrown in with Leah’s hands on job approach.

There are smatterings of the Blackwood Security crew throughout the book and a nice little mystery to keep you going.

Another great read to add to the Blackwood collection.

Elise always writes characters I am sad to see go at the end of the book. Brilliant and funny dog, Brian. Leah and Hayden are great characters and I would be happy to read more about Hayden's friends and colleagues. Some characters from Blackwood make a return, but this can easily be read without reading any of the previous books. Just be careful, you may be hooked:) Elise writes brilliant romance and mystery with a good dose of humour. Once again, I loved her writing.

Once again Ms Noble delivers another intriguing and compelling story. I love the fact that each of her books hold my attention from the first page to the last. Also they’re never the same. Each one is unique. This is no different an innocent sweet girl somehow ends up helping Blackwood and meets a special business man who’s wary. Not so much suspense but definitely intriguing to read. Kept me hooked all the way thro. Wonderful book and series.
