UnderVerse Omnibus 1: A Dark Fantasy LitRPG Adventure

Rate this book
An unfamiliar realm, a reality outside of his own where magic abounds. His survival will determine the fates for them all.

Jax is a good man, or he tells himself he is anyway, spilling his own blood out like water over the years to defend the innocent, but when you’re pulled through the veil between worlds and forced into the fight, is it really a choice?

He’s about to find out. Jax is forced to fight his way to earn the opportunity to travel to the UnderVerse, his only hope to locate his missing brother. Should he qualify, he is tasked with restoring power to the nobility in the UnderVerse, except the nobility aren’t the kind of people you want in charge of anything.

He’s got the chance to take a decrepit, collapsing bastion of the old Empire, and turn it around, fix it up and create a home for those who need it, but it's not going to be easy, especially as the darkness inside him grows…the monsters of the UnderVerse are real and rampant, and it’ll take becoming a monster to face them.

Jax has the chance to change his stars, to rise up and be the defender he always wanted to be, instead of the thug everyone thinks he is, and he’s going to damn well take it.

Welcome to the first omnibus of the UnderVerse, welcome to the story that started it all, welcome… to the War of the Gods.

(Please This is a polished and re-edited version of 'Brightblade' and 'The Forgotten Faithful', Books 1&2 of the UnderVerse)

Jack or Jax is throw down the River so far, he ends up in another realm

Jack and his brother Thomas were always a pair of knuckleheads with more brawn and bravery than brains. Growing up orphaned and watching out for each other they could never step down from a fight against bullies. And as they became teenagers, they learned they were truly different as they began to dream walk into another body and land, one with magic. As they slept or felt safe they could be pulled into this other world into a magically enhanced adult body. There would be armor and weapons and they’d have magic and super strength but they were always called to a tragedy to defend different species in places they never recognized.
Then Tommy disappeared 5 years ago and Jack has been searching for him while sinking into depression as he turns up no sign of his brother.
Until he finally loses it in a fight and goes too far, drawing the attention of the law and his genetic father the Baron. Starting a new adventure in pain, disappointment and tiny bits of information about his brother. Training him in a wide range of combat and survival skills before he must fight in a death match against other Scions of the old bloodlines. The “winner” getting a free trip to their old realm with a mission to reactivate a gate to allow the Baron and his ilk access to their old realm.
Well the Baron is a real jackass and a bully and that is something that Jack cannot tolerate so he does his best to screw his father over and better his chances of survival after winning the tournament.
As he steps through the portal to a new world he has his own mission, find Tommy and maybe take over the realm from all the asshats in control.

Deal of the year so far

Well this is my favourite collection so far of the year well probably untill the 2nd one comes out. This extended version and bumper read of the first two books is a great trip down memory lane whilst being fresh to read due to the new content. Hoping for more cool artwork and also new imaginings in the 2nd & 3rd omnibus versionswhile I impatiently await book 7.
Even if you have these individual books I would pick this up as it a great bargain.

"Decent story, bad writing, atrocious narration accents", is my review for both books. The writing doesn't get better and neither do the narrator's accents but the story is intriguing enough to have one wonder. At this point, I can guess what comes next, for the most part (except for the Tommyplot line). So will I pick up the next books? Hmm, maybe

Good potential, but ultimately the MC is just too flawed.

I tried to like this book, I really did. It has all the makings of a fantastic series. But I had to give up at 50%. The MC is just too stupid. I couldn't take it any more.
