Rosalia Philips isn’t only the muse laced into every lyric I write. She’s my cure. The reason I’m still breathing.
Four years ago, I let her go. Now, I’d do anything to make her mine. One night, while my famed alternative rock band is on a world-wide tour, our fate collides, and I become addicted to her.
I told her I’d ruin her life. That I wanted nothing to do with her. I lied.
I’m the poetically tragic rock star. She’s the beautifully broken ballerina. Together, we’re the cruelest of enemies…and the messiest lovers.
Our attraction is chaotic like nineteenth-century Brontë. Unpredictable like a psychopath’s lullaby. Diabolic like the Joker and his queen.
And yet, we won’t stop till we unravel what we crave most…to be loved. Whatever that freaking means.
But just like every addiction, her love could be the very thing that kills me... And these are the reasons why…
NOTE: This full-length book is a standalone and INCLUDES the prequel, Remember I’m Yours.
Vanessa Luisa is a Top 100 Amazon Bestselling author of sexy romance laced with angst, dirty-talking alpha heroes and the sassy, strong heroines who bring them to their knees.
She’s best known for writing steamy, tension-filled age gaps, sometimes gritty, sometimes forbidden, but always driven by an intense emotional connection with real characters, raw situations, and hard-earned happily ever after.
Vanessa lives in Melbourne, Australia, and when she isn’t writing, you can find her at strength Pilates, yoga, or obsessing over the NHL. She enjoys almond lattes, binge-watching ‘80s Magnum P.I. (yes, a toned, bronzed Tom Selleck slowly emerging from crystal blue water lives rent-free in her head), and of course, heart-eyeing NYC. Happy reading! Xoxo
This was definitely not my cup of tea but it took a long time for me to get through the mess to be decisive about that.
The book is 929 pages but to be fair, it includes a very short novella and the beginning of another book. However, that doesn't take away from the fact that this book is desperate for a good editing. It's super wordy and overly descriptive with repetitive phrases...making you want to choke yourself. I gave myself a good patting on the back for schlepping through and actually finishing this mess.
There are also a ton of triggers and way too many cutesy tags to give the characters any realness but more of a Frankenstein type cred. Also, I cannot stomach the virgin turned porn star trope and I would die happy to never read another squirting sex scene ever again.
On a good note, I did end up having an affinity for several of the characters. I just don't know that I would ever take a chance to learn more.
Elijah and Rosalia’s story continues in Diesel Rose. A few months from the end of Remember I’m Yours and then jumps 4 years. Elijah is now a world-known rockstar and Rosalia has made it a prima ballerina. When Elijah does a little rendezvous, he finds himself searching for his muse. But… things aren’t all as he though they would be. Rosalia has a boyfriend and has made it her life’s mission to hate Elijah after he walked out on her.
Our boy, Elijah, isn’t giving up so easily. Despite everything that went down, Rosalia still loves him. They’d do anything for each other. Things get as I said ✨explosive✨ you’ll just have to read it to get it lmao

I can’t express how much I loved this book, I loved the emotions that came out of me, the way the characters just felt so real, and just the way the plot was so intriguing!! Vanessa did such an incredible job with this one I definitely have to get my hands on a physical copy as well as checking out her other books. Like all I can say is wow. This book had me smiling so hard and the next second ugly crying. God I just loved everything, I am so happy this book had a happy ending cause if it didn’t y’all wouldn’t hear from me in days. Reading about the struggles just made feel so real because it is real, I truly love when authors write about things that others can relate to when reading so I really want to give a huge thanks to Vanessa for writing this masterpiece!! • {ᴄʜᴀʀᴀᴄᴛᴇʀs} In this book we are introduced to Rosalia & Diesel. Since they first laid eyes on each other you could tell that the love between these two was going to be strong. As well as we have to give props to how strong both of these characters are, they went through such traumatic pasts and it makes me so happy to know that they were able to overcome it because they had one another. They never put each other down for it and instead helped each other and showed each other what true love is. I’m so incredibly happy that I’m crying because these two finally got their happy ending. I just know their love is going to last a very long time. • {sᴘɪᴄᴇ} Incredible!!! Pierced everything ;) outdoors ?
➜ hero - Elijah Diesel is someone who may get misjudged. He is a tattooed, rough around the edges rock star who loves the classics. He has very few people that he cares about.Diesel is an inked up, pierced, sex god, who can sing and write. I know I should have looked at him as selfish, but I didn’t. I may have hated the way he did it, but the way they come back together is written with so much passion, I had to tell myself to breathe
➜ heroine - Rosalia is a beauty on stage, determined, and likes to get wild for him, only him. She shattered when Diesel left and she put herself back together, she grew up. She is determined to hate him.For years after the first meet and part ways, Diesel is a big time rock star and Rosalia is a prima ballerina. With a boyfriend!
➜ overall review - There is chemistry between them from the start. You can feel the connection between them. These two are explosive, they are broken, yet they are so beautiful together. Their journey is long, it is rough, it is full of ups and downs, pain, sadness, lust, happiness, joy, love.
This book is about two trouble souls that find each other and take us to the wildest ride that is their lives. This is the true definition of s*x, dr*gs and rock and roll so expected exactly that. Boy these two made me suffer so much. Elijah and Rosalia's story is one for the history books. When I tell you these two are broken I mean it. Their lives aren't pretty but when for a chance they met, they're completely enraptured by each other. We go from infatuation to lust to finally love, and the journey is a rocky one. There are many things I absolutely love about this book, from the bond between the band members to the build up and slow burn to discover everything that happened in our MCs lives, it was amazing. It felt like reading a biography of a Rockstar. There were also some things I didn't enjoy but it didn't affect my overall enjoyment of this book and boy I did enjoy this! Side characters-because I always end up liking them more but that's a me thing- we're great and gave substance to the plot; especially Knives. I LOVED HIM. Even when he was being mean. Overall this was a wonderful read.
TW: sex, alcohol and drug abuse, death of love one, violence, child endangerment, physical abuse, trauma, mentions of attempt of suicide and self harm.
Thank you to the author for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review

Elijah and Rosalia’s story continues four years after the prequel, “Remember I’m Yours (RIY).” (Yes, I highly recommend reading the prequel before this book.) This book also touches on difficult topics like mental health, drug abuse, suicide, death of a parent, etc. So please check trigger warnings before reading ahead.
After four years since the events of RIY, Elijah and Rosalia are on separate paths and doing what they love most. Despite the different lives they live, they were always bound to find each other again. Two beautifully broken characters with demons they battle with everyday, but together, they were able to heal and find love again. With each other.
Although I did love their story, it felt a bit prolonged and certain words and or phrases were overused. But that’s just me.
Overall, this book was raw and beautiful. I loved it.
Read if you like: - Age gap - Rockstar hero - Ballerina heroine - Enemies to lovers - Second chance - Forced proximity - Pierced
So AS SOON AS I WAS DONE WITH THE PREQUEL, I JUMPED INTO THIS BOOK. CAN'T SAY I REGRET THIS!!
The story continues four years after the first book happened. Elijah is famous rockstar and Rosalie made it to prima ballerina. However things are bit different now. Elijah finds himself looming for her and gets to know about her new boyfriend. So Elijah is now ofcourse not gonna give up.
This makes me book so much interesting angsty beautiful. I truly love when many important topics were touched. I can't get enough of this book. Just devoured this book. I didn't even know when i finished. It was so so amazing.
Vanessa Luisa you wrote an angsty, age gap, sexy, heartbreaking experience. It was more than words.
I loved how the author got into it, we are dressed in our best while catching the ballet. We are singing out loud to t rock and roll. We have dance, music, lyrics, we have an unbelievable aesthetic.
A world of grey and black, Diesel. The only color, the vibrancy, the speckles, Rosalia. The author made me feel their heartbreak, two people who should not be together. But damn did I believe that age didn’t matter, because two beautifully broken people needed to be there at certain times for one another. That two beautifully broken people need to be there for all the times in one’s life.
Diesel is an inked up, pierced, sex god, who can sing and write. His love of the classics fuel him. I know I should have looked at him as selfish, but I didn’t. He wanted Rosalia to chase her dream, hurt had to happen. I may have hated the way he did it, but the way they come back together is written with so much passion, I had to tell myself to breathe. He had some of her in the prequel but he works so effin hard to get all of her.
Rosalia is a beauty on stage, determined, and likes to get wild for him, only him. She shattered when Diesel left and she put herself back together, she grew up, she let her drive for ballet give her life again, and she wasn’t going to waste it on drama. I loved how she stood up for herself, she wanted her truth and she wanted Diesel.
They sit together in their storm. They kiss one another and fuck one another wickedly, they embrace who they are, and together they find their way. They changed their story for the better.
PHEW. Pretty sure my heart stopped beating for a moment while reading this. Is it hot in here, or is it just me? ‘Diesel Rose’ follows the prequel ‘Remember I’m Yours’ and had me hooked from beginning to end.
Elijah and Rose are something else. Their chemistry is off the charts. They are intense yet chaotic. However, in the mix of it all, they are romantic, sweet, and imperfect in the best way possible. They fit with each other, even after the way the prequel. When they run into each other again, Elijah is on tour, and the feelings they had all that time ago resurface and result in even more chemistry and chaos.
I love an intense, angsty read, and this delivers. Between the angst, sexual tension, and romance – just be prepared for what you are about to read because holy jeepers - the book was that good!
TW: Addiction Lost Family Abandonment Abuse Self harm
Tropes: GrumpyxSunshine Rock star romance Age gap Second chance (kind of) Healing
This book is for everyone who believes in redemption, who believes that all it takes is one person to give you a meaning. This book is for those who don't shy away from trigger warning and taboo love This book is for those you love music because Elijah is a Rockstar and our Rosalia is a ballet dancer.
Ever since I read her first book, I have been a fan of hers. I never thought I had it in me to re-read a book but reading MERCIFUL VOWS over 3 times in last one year, I know her work hold so much passion and angst, demons from past but also the willingness to heal in your own way.
This book is absolutely emotional rollercoaster, that get me trough so many emotions and left me breathless! Here we have age gap,my favorite trope and rockstar man that rip my heart.
Vanessa dear author, you again make me to forget my surrounding and to self-forgetting myself in this story! The angst the tension all was making me to hyperventilating and damn him Elijah, no matter what he do I can't hate him lol. I'm crazy obsessed with this man ,and to add the moments with he's Rose in the packaging it's making me to swon literally. 🙈🥵
You absolutely is one of my most favorite authors, and I will always recommend your books, because they are unique in all the ways!!
ARC Review of Diesel Rose by Vanessa Luisa * * * * * A whirlwind intense erotic affair that will have you addicted to this tragic omyx eyed rockstar and his salmon-pink loving ballerina, just as much as they are addicted to each other.
Four years ago, they parted. Elijah said it was for the best, even if it nearly broken them. Now, he is touring the world with his band. Crowds by the thousands. Fans by the millions. Yet he feels so alone. One night in New York he sees his ballerina again. She is as beautiful as he remembered. She is a star. She is a phenomenon. She is still his. Rose is making it big for herself. After the struggles of her having been broken, she is now making it big in her career and got herself a boyfriend. She never expected to see her past rock up on her doorstep...especially when is wearing very minimal clothing and watching Fifty Shades! She can deny him as much as she wants, but he knows she still wants him even if she hates him. Thus leading to her joining him on his tour! They fall into each other deeper than before. Passionate and chaotic and dangerously close to happily overdosing on one another. However, as they go deeper, and as they open up to one another on the tragedies of their past, it is evident one of them is keeping a secret. A secret that is said to break them. His monsters are surfacing. Can Rose face them? Plus, they still got to deal with her disapproving parents and that is a whole other drama! Naughty car kisses, peach lingerie, live stage romantic declarations and a breaking point.
Oh my golly-G spot-gosh! What is not happening in this read? The spark in their reunion, the anger and betrayal, the crazy amazing bedroom play-time, and shocking revelations! It is action-packed and not pulling punches. Tons of love, amazing new characters and growth from ones we have already happily met. Loved it! Absolutely loved it! 5 stars!
POV: First person / Dual Genre: Age Gap / Rockstar Romance / Second Chance / Angst Filled
Four years ago, Rosalia Phillips and Elijah Diesel had a chance encounter that altered both their lives in an unequivocal way. But with their fifteen year age gap, her parents disapproval, the world of rock and roll and their mutual past traumas, the odds were stacked against them from the start. So four years ago, Elijah broke Rosalia’s heart. Now he’s back, and this time he’s determined not to let his muse go.
Rosalia and Elijah were two broken, lost souls that together embark on a life altering journey that neither of them could ever have predicted. Their characters both had such traumatic pasts that moulded them into the versions of themselves they are within the pages of the book. Despite their age gaps, their mutual understanding of each others demons allowed for such a beautiful connection.
𝗗𝗶𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗹 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗲 was chaotically enthralling, full of obsession, demons and angst, an undeniable connection, a dirty talking tragic rock star, a courageous woman and steam, steam, STEAM!
There was a lot of triggering themes within this book, most notably mental health and suicide, but the themes were all written with such awareness and care. There were no unnecessary depictions or scenes intended solely for ‘shock value’, it was just an author giving her readers the chance to fully understand and connect with her characters. Vanessa did such an incredible job with 𝗗𝗶𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗹 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗲, it was full of emotion and left me feeling whole after the chaotic battles faced within the story.
After having read Remember I'm Yours i couldn't wait for more of this story and it's characters! I immediately started looking forward to this book! I was so excited to get more of Ms.Luisa's words. I started reading it as soon as i could and got right back into this world. I really enjoyed this book so very much!
Elijah and Rosalia's journey continues! I didn't know what all to expect next with these two and their story which had me even more glued to this book. That's the thing about souls, they never forget those who've left their mark on it which Elijah and Rosalia know all too well.
Just like in Remember I'm Yours, both Elijah and Rosalia once again had me feeling so dang much! It wasn't easy and there was such realness that poured from both of these characters. They got under each other's skin. I was so glad to get more of them and peel back their layers. Their chemistry was undeniable. The feels they brought hit me right in the chest! I loved that there was such uniqueness to this story.
With Diesel Rose, Ms.Luisa has created such a great and page-turner of a read that grabbed a hold of my heart and had me feeling every bit! Her writing always knows how to hook me! I can't wait for more from this author! 💗
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Give Me Books Promotions / the author*
Elijah Diesel broke my heart and rebuild it. He was so intense seriously he is the definition of rollercoaster, I don’t know how rose lived 4 years without him because I swear her ex should have be pretty boring. This man energy and melancholy put me on edge in each pages. He is at peace with her but sometimes you can feel as suffocation it could be. This character feeling own the all story and throw it a us to feel it.
Rosalia love the neighbourhood so I knew I’ll like this book so much. Rosalia is the opposite, she also has her trauma, her past is sad but she’s strong and never back down. She saw Diesel in a magazine and she wanted him so what are the odd for you to meet your celebrity crush in the street 😮💨 age gap who seriously they are made for each other.
Their relationship is intense and heartbreaking sometimes but thanks romance book second chance exist. Love reunite them with a lot of bump, car sexy time was hot as hell but I prefer emotional so I would say every serious talk made my heart pound even meeting his sister and nephew. I was intoxicated by this book seriously when I finished it I feel at their love leaving me but also all the pressure.
Thank you Vanessa you always put my heart at stake with your stories and I like it.
I don’t know how to form my love for this story into words. Rosalia and Elijah’s journey is one that spans the country and years. The two of them seemed like they will fail from the start and there are so many ups and downs when it comes to the two of them.
They meet when Rosalia is 17 and Elijah is 31. There is a strong connection between them. Their souls are drawn to each other. However, they were never anything more than friends until they became enemies. However, time can truly make a difference, but is it too late for these two?
There is chemistry between them from the start. You can feel the connection between them. These two are explosive, they are broken, yet they are so beautiful together. Their journey is long, it is rough, it is full of ups and downs, pain, sadness, lust, happiness, joy, love.
I loved every single second of this book and this is one that will stick with me for a while and easily one of my favorite books of the year.
If you’re looking for an angsty, age gap, rockstar, enemies to lovers romance this is one to check out.
Holy motherforking shirtballs. This book is INCREDIBLE. I am shook. I don’t even know how to start to describe this book. First off, it is hella long. It will take you more than one sitting to finish this book. The author weaves this story so beautifully, I felt like I was there with them the whole time. Rosalia is a ballerina, Diesel is a rock star. Think the Avril Lavigne song plus drugs/sex/rock and roll plus traumatic pasts. Both main characters have traumatic pasts and history regarding drugs and alcohol. The book spans over 4 years (including the prequel) and you spend the whole time rooting for them. The dynamics are so real and relatable between these two. Neither are perfect but they spend almost the whole book not giving up on each other when shit gets hard. The amount of unconditional love between these two is palpable. There is heart breaking moments more than there is happy moments but they do get their HEA. This book is a must read. A story of healing, love, trauma, addiction, and needing a village to keep your head above water.
Today I want to talk to you about the continuation of the story of Elijah and Rosalia. Without a doubt I loved it! I love when the characters have great backstories and one of the things that excited me the most was getting to know these protagonists in depth. I felt so much with this book that it was incredible. A roller coaster of emotions from pain, anguish, love, and above all tension. If there is something that exists between these two, it is the tension they have🛐 it is from another world!! Age gap and grumpy x sunshine??? YOU GOT ME!! Everything is for me. Undoubtedly a great work that I enjoy very much. I'm so happy I read it because it was totally worth it🖤
Diesel Rose is the emotional second chance romance between rockstar Elijah and his beautiful ballerina Rosalia. These two seemingly opposite characters with a large age gap still somehow touch each other's soul. The prequel really set the tone for the tension and then this book knocked it out of the park. Even after their explosive initial meeting they still have an invisible tie that binds them together. Which is why years later they find themselves on tour together despite Rosalia's disapproving parents. Diesel Rose knocks it out of the park with steam and angst, a combination Vanessa does beautifully. This book also deals with some strong emotional traumas and handles them carefully and lovingly. I'm so thrilled that I enjoyed this book as much as the author's others and she's becoming an instant read for me!
"She wants more. And I’ll always give my baby more."
elijah & rosalia's story is so beautiful, toxic, messy and EXPLOSIVE.
two characters who are broken and had demons to battle but still found love together and couldn't stay away even though the world expects them to. i loved the way they supported one another and helped each other through moments of insecurity, self-loathing and depression.
it's a book that touches upon difficult subjects like so i highly suggest you check the trigger warnings beforehand.
each book of vanessa just keeps getting better and better. she gave us some of the best spicy scenes i've read in a long time 😮💨 the bathroom scene will always be one of my most favorite scenes of the book.
This is the first in a new series, and this is Elijah and Rosalia’s journey. Elijah is a broken rock star, who is touring the world with his band, but despite the fans and the thrills, he feels alone. Rose is a broken ballet dancer, who has a successful career, and a boyfriend. Elijah and Rose have not seen each other for 4-years after they parted ways. Now Elijah arrives on Rose’s doorstep, and he convinces her to go on tour with him, despite what her disapproving parents say. This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster, with angst, drama, passion, betrayal, action packed, friendships, family, tragedy, secrets, and love, which leads to a riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
The emotional rollercoaster this book put me through!
I loved Elijah and Rosa's story. The age gap, the tension, angst it all came together so well. After that prologue, I needed this book and after four years, they meet again. Both want each other despite not trying to give in which leads to them touring together again. They fall all over again and it was so beautiful. You can feel every emotion on the page. There are so many obstacles and I loved how they tackled it together. This is a definite must read!
After Rose so wholeheartedly went after Elijah in the first part of this book and was rejected, you know there's going to be some heartbreak going on. Since there's a large age gap, Elijah wanted Rose to grow up, find herself, find love. He's a hardened man and he's been working a long time establishing his band and chasing fame. And though he was initially the one who pushed Rose away, he can't help be drawn to her again and again. For those who want a rock star romance, this one has the brooding musician, the bright fame and sexy times, and a love that is messy but everlasting.
We I first started I was a lil scared to continue but I’m happy I did because I love this book omg it’s amazing and the pain and traumas is everything the best written book ever best read of 2023 so far for me.
5⭐️ I have to say two things before I write my review… 1: this was supposed to be and ARC review but I have been in a reading slump lately and just finished it today so.. 2: PLEASE CHECK TRIGGER WARNINGS FOR THIS BOOK IT COVERS MANY TRIGGERING THINGS… Now onto my review and I don’t know how to process this book I was about to DNF it but I love Vanessa’s books and then I hit the 50% mark and I was in love with this book. It does have a third act break up but it’s not for a stupid reason like some of the other romance books. I really enjoyed this book and how it developed. If you want to read this please read the prequel before read this it sets the story up. This may be my new favorite book.. sorry Welcome to the Darkside
I didn’t want it to end. That’s why I was holding onto this for so long. I’m in aww with this read. Rosalia and Elijah story is a beautiful tragic read. You will laugh, get pissed and you will cry. Both their traumas were so tragic, they were meant to meet. Age gap forbidden couple, taboo nah, who effin cares, in the end it’s the love that matters and Peaches and Lijah deserve it. I’m sad I finished 🥹it but this couple will truly forever be in my heart ♥️ they’re each other cures🥹
Vanessa Grazie Mille, I love your reads and I can’t wait for more 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 you rock girl!!!!🙇🏼♀️🙇🏼♀️
