What sacrifices are you willing to make for love? What pieces of yourself are you willing to give up? What pieces of yourself will you hold onto?
Stacey Hill travels through love’s journey, colliding with lust, commitment and morality, with very few things beyond her grasp. When her sheltered reality with an on and off again love becomes intermingled with a new love, the energy is bound to be explosive.
Collide is a drama-induced black romance novel, a breathtaking treat, guaranteed to leave you swooning and clutching your pearls with excitement as Stacey explores two extraordinary loves.
Started off ok but Stacey and her choices started to get to me and not in a good way. I feel like her relationships moved too fast and there was some repetition throughout the story. I did love Tank and Rachel. Not sure if I would read a sequel if one was written. I wanted a little more “class” with this book.
Have you ever watched a movie with a ‘villain’ who was so good at their role that you never looked at them the same way again in other projects?? Well that’s how insufferable Stacey is in this book - highly annoying and irritating. BUT, once her childhood trauma was disclosed, it became very clear why she completely ignored red flags, struggled with her self worth, and had trust issues. I appreciated how she was able to become more secure in her attachment style once she met someone who was also secure and ready to take relationships seriously. It helped me realize how the right man will show appreciation for you and consistently remind you of your true value - they’ll never make you question your impact or worth. The only thing I didn’t like about this book was that the protagonist’s eventual love interest was posing as a real estate investor when he was actually the head of a drug cartel… stereotypical ‘Black jobs’ are just a personal pet peeve.
