Full of easy to follow tips and tricks, this works almost like an art journal. I didn't do all of the exercises through the book, but I did try many techniques and subjects. I discovered that I much prefer drawing in pastels or coloured pencil to felt tip or lead pencil and that I have a knack for flowers, fruit, shells and coral. There are lots of options to try and techniques to experiment with, and the book is very easy to read and follow. I found it quite inspirational.

Saw this in the library, thought it might be a useful one to recommend to children. I didn't think the drawings were very good, they were quite basic and drawn in patchy felt tip pen. Things like a cup, a hat, a cat. Might be good ifa child wanted something really basic, but I expect anyone interested enough in the subject to want to read this would already have some basic skills.
