There’s no other holiday like Halloween. Jack-o-lanterns, falling leaves, hot apple cider, and things that go bump in the night. Uh, including that dead guy.
It might only be July, but Mia and the entire town of Pumpkin Hollow are celebrating Halloween early with Pumpkin Hollow Days. Amid the festivities, someone turns up dead, and Mia and her sister Christy are thrown into another mystery that needs solving. Will they figure out who the killer is without disrupting the festivities? Or will her husband Ethan put his foot down and insist they keep their noses out of things?
Pumpkin Hollow Mysteries is a sweet cozy mystery series without paranormal elements.
This was a "Pumpkin Hollow Days" mystery from the Pumpkin Hollow series. It's summertime, but Pumpkin Hollow is celebrating their summer Halloween festival (think of a Christmas in July situation).
I didn't enjoy this one as much as I've enjoyed some, because I simply didn't find that I cared very much about the deceased or those involved in that person's life. Sometimes, I'm far more interested in how the solution will play out, but I wasn't that invested in this murdered character's story. I can't really say that had anything to do with the book. It could very well be nothing more than a matter of mood.
The book was well-written, and I liked the dialogue (one of my personal little issues with a lot of books). It was still everything you'd expect from one of these cozy mysteries, and I enjoyed it for the light Halloween-themed (Halloween festival themed?) fun.
Frightfully Dead was an entertaining story. Although it was July, Pumpkin Hollow was celebrating Halloween early with Pumpkin Hollow Days. It brings visitors to town and everyone gets into the Halloween spirit. As the celebration is occurring, the owner of the jewelry store is murdered. Who could have done this and why? Join Christy, Mia and Ethan as they try to solve the murder. There were twists, lies and gossip going around. Who is telling the truth and what is the truth? The author kept my attention and interest throughout the entire book so much I had a hard time putting the book down. Nice plot with great lively, vibrant characters that have become like family and add a depth to the read.
If you like everything about Halloween, then this is a series you will enjoy. This was a cute, cozy mystery and I look forward to the next book in the series.

Mia and the entire town of Pumpkin Hollow are getting ready – even though it’s only July right now – to celebrate the Pumpkin Hollow Days festivities. It gets everyone in the spirit and attracts tourists to support their town’s businesses. Then someone turns up dead to disrupt those plans. George Black, who ran the jewelry store with his wife Nina, was found dead in the back room. Someone had shot him. Yet it wasn’t a robbery. Would Mia and her sister, Christy, get involved in finding the murderer before the Pumpkin Hollow Days festivities are thrown into chaos? Or will Ethan, Mia’s husband and a detective with the police department, try to keep them out of it this time?
It is mid-July and that means Pumpkin Hollow Days in this Halloween themed small town. During the annual parade, local jewellery store owner George Black is murdered in the back room of the store. His wife Nina discovers him several hours later. Mia, Christy and some of the candy shop employees volunteer to cover shifts at the jewellery store to help Nina out. Ethan is working the case and gets help from Mia as she asks questions around town. Can they find the killer before he/she strikes again?.

Love this series . Mia and Christy are the amateur sleuths and they are good. Mia is married to Ethan who is the murder investigator and Mia and Christy work with their mother at the candy store. This time the jewelry store manager is murdered. Then all the excitement begins.
I enjoyed this book of the series a little bit more than the others, as usual Mia is investigating a death at the jewelry store. I was surprised that she was accused by her mom's friend of stealing from said friend's store. Did she or didn't she ??
I love these books although it's taken me few years to finish longest series..but I love that it's set in a town that has Halloween all year round , the love and murder perfect for this time of year
