If you ever watched "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" or "Charmed" growing up, this book is for you. A cute-and-quirky trip down memory lane, with witches, warlocks, sassy familiars (I'm looking at you, Merlin!), and a lot of teenage soul-searching.
Nostalgia aside, this was a total cover buy for me! The design is absolutely magical, with its embossed lettering and enchanting colour palette.
Also, this is the second book in the series, so I'll definitely want to check out the first one too. I'm also hoping for a sequel, since "Spells and Secrets" ended on quite the cliffhanger. However, reading it as a stand-alone also works fine, since the MC keeps referencing various events from the first volume.
Go on then, grab your wand and hop on your broom, to join Morgan Charmley and Owen Blaze on their adventures!
Witches who hare warlocks and warlocks who hate witches and that's that. There is no two ways about it.
Morgan Charmley must keep her magical powers under control and undercover at school- tricky when her best friend, warlock Owen, is playing pranks on her. And when Morgan accidentally finds herself on the school quiz team, a fellow secret witch is trying to sabotage.
If you haven't read it, I suggest you go and do it now!!!
this book is so sweet :)) and so teen coded. I love a good best friends to lovers trope. and I don't really understand, are witches girls and warlocks boys? and are only witches only choice is to marry humans? because I don't see any witch in the book marry a witch so it makes me wonder if there are no boy witches
This is my 5th fantasy book, and I quite enjoyed it. Of course, it had its flaws and the plot was kinda slow-ish at times but the idea was brilliant. I'll probably be reading this authors other books. Overall, 3.75 stars.
Enjoyed this 2nd book in the series. Both witches and warlocks are featured and the hunt for Morgan to find her dad while balancing a school quiz while also being a teenage witch keeps the story intresting
Really good - had a great time reading it Good for ages 9+ as there are some sensitive topics At points it felt like it was for younger readers but still really enjoyable and interesting
