Having seen the series, it is pretty much what I was expecting. This book takes place between the end of season 2 and the start of season 3. The book is full of swearing and innuendo. The fights are a lot less than I was expecting, but I can understand and agree that was the right thing to do to get the story across.

Harley and Ivy are on the run. They have burned a number of bridges but have a lot of unlikely support. The book concentrates more on Ivy than Harley, just slightly, but also has a large supporting cast.

This is an ok to good read. The thing is not to take this book too seriously, just like the series. It does its job of bridging the gap to season 3. The book finishes with a varient cover gallery, with both full page and thumbnails. The book also has a sketch gallery.

It's dumb, sexy fun as Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy take a road trip between seasons two and three of the animated series on HBOMax. They're trying to lay low, but of course end up involved in all sorts of shenanigans and hijinks . . . and beds, many beds.

I enjoy the show, and this book does a good job of capturing its salty, crude, and bawdy tone. And like the show, the plot doesn't necessarily make sense, but that's okay, because the relationship between Ivy and Harley is all that matters. And they are relationshipping all over the place here.

And with Max Sarin providing the art, it's like the show is having an unofficial crossover with John Allison's Giant Days. Bonus!

My first read of 2023 and it was just pure fun and chaos!

I have had my eyes on this book for ages and a big big thank you to my sweet Santa for giving me this one during Christmas. It was a long week because I wanted to wait until January 1st to read it. Haha. Now I still hope to one day watch the show, because there were some moments that had me confused and sometimes things were referenced. Sadly, it is not anywhere in my country. Not on HBO, not anywhere else. sighs Still hoping that one day HBO gets it.

In this one Harley and Ivy (Harlivy) are running away from Gotham and go into a full chaotic road trip with superheroes and supervillains and tons of chaos. For reals. If you thought things with Harley couldn’t get more chaotic, hold on to your seat because DANG. This was one fun road trip and I loved seeing Harley and Ivy get closer. Think about how things got to this point. And we don’t just see Harley, but we also get Catgirl, Batwoman, Night, um sorry Tushwing, and many others. Even Batman pops up.

Harley was just fantastic, though sure, at times she got a bit on my nerves. Haha, sometimes she was just a bit too oblivious for all around her, but I could see she was at least trying not to always get into trouble. I really loved how she was with Ivy. It was a laugh to see her bounce through the world in her Harley way. And I loved her outfits.

I wasn’t always a fan of Ivy. I could see she struggled and I could understand why, but sometimes I just wished she talked to Harley. Because yes, Harley is a chaotic being but she is also willing to listen. She is very kind and sweet. She is trying her hardest to make things work, but again, she is also still Harley. You need to be clear with this girl. You need to speak up. Not go from hot to cold. As Harley said, she had enough crap with Joker. She doesn’t need this again.

I loved seeing them cuddle and have sweet moments together. Really, I was already shipping Harlivy from earlier Harley stuff, but now? Even more. They were so adorable. And I loved loved how they fiercely protected each other. I had such a laugh when Harley was getting attention from a dude and Ivy just went total death mode. XD

I adored that both Ivy and Harley had chats with Harleen, aka the psych before Harleen turned into the chaotic party clown that is Harley. It made me laugh and I loved that little nudge to Harley’s past.

Gordon was NOT my favourite. Dang dude, I get that you want to catch these two girls, but to go as far as to blow up a building with CIVILIANS in it and not care about them getting hurt or worse? And there were other parts. Even Batman was NOT in the mood for that stuff.

Also sorry to Nightwing, but you are Tushwing for me now. XD It is not wrong though, DANG those abs and muscles. MMMMMM. 🤤🫠

The ending was just one big WOW and I was totally into it. We meet some more superheroes, some more others that I recognised, and there are explosions, action, and some drama.

The ending (and also the cover) were wonderful. I just love the style Max Sarin is amazing!

I cannot wait what is next for this pair, I want to come with them again on a new road trip. Hopefully this time I can get the book sooner than waiting months for it. glares at Amazon. I would highly recommend this book to fans of Ivy/Harley and love a big order of chaos.

Takes all the humour and satire from the show and trades it for painfully cringy dialogue that just forces a dialogue down your throat. The in-your-face explicit 'inclusivity' is so overdone to the point where its just there to be there. Approach the subject with some grace and meaning rather than just throwing a person or dialogue for the sake of it. Strays so far away from the spirit of the source material that the only resemblance left are how the characters' look, which even the art doesn't capture very well. Overall, extremely disappointing. A great show used as an opportunity to pander in the name of 'empowerment'.

As big big fan of the tv-show series, I love love love these comics!!! I read all 6 in my afternoon (well, it took me like 1-2 hours or so). I recommend to anyone who's a big fan of the tv-show series... 🫶🫶🫶 And it couldn't be more queer than this!
Btw, the background, the all of background characters, and the colors are all magnificent 😗👌! I'll be -most definitely- coming back to these (specially after my 3rd re-watch of the tv-show).

3.7 ⭐️ Awesome art and a whole lot of adventure.

First of all the art for this series I adore. I will be reading the second one purely for that alone.

It’s also cute seeing Harley & Ivy kinda domestic in their own unhinged way. These are villains you can really get behind. God forbid a woman have hobbies.

I will say the pacing of the story itself was off at times. Ivy’s own past struggles were brushed over in a matter of pages and it would have been nice to have seen that explored more. The dialogue itself also felt a tad hectic & cheesy at times.

Saying that I still enjoyed the volume and will definitely be reading the next.

Rep// White WLW MC, WLW MC with PTSD, Black WLW SC, Black WLW SC with Limb Difference. Central romance is WLW/Sapphic.

TWs listed below, please skip if you don’t want vague spoilers.

TW// PTSD & conversations around mental health struggles, parental abuse (verbal, in past), guns, bombs, explosion, poisoning, death, blood, some violence, forced feeding, cheating (past), kidnapping.

'How'd you know I love pain? Do it again.' 'This is not the way I like to be choked' Nin que me criara xd Parece ser que saímos as dúas ca mesma tara...

En resumo, comic cuqui, estúpido e divertido sobre Harlivy que se sitúa entre a temporada 2 e 3 da serie.

Cute- I loved the art style and outfit choices for the characters ❤️ I loved Peaches too!
I also really liked seeing the affection between Ivy and Harley, and the way they try to consider each other the way people do when they first start out in a new relationship ❤️

Trip ins Abenteuer

Tying in to the cartoon, of which I really should watch some more, this has the advantage the cover makes obvious: it's a continuity where Harley and Ivy are very much allowed to be an item, rather than one where DC are prepared to go through any amount of last-minute redrawing and splitting Ivy into multiple characters to avoid that, because...I'm not sure it's even a simple capitulation to dickheads so much as modern DC just not being able to resist the urge to meddle. The downside, though, is that these are slightly off-model versions of the characters, so Ivy keeps second-guessing her decision to run away with Harley, or lecturing her on the importance of boundaries – which, yes, you probably would if she were someone you knew in real life, but feels fundamentally at odds with the whole concept of the character. How much of this is Tee Franklin's doing, how much is taken directly from the cartoon, I couldn't say because, as mentioned, I'm way behind – though I do recall the show's Ivy being a little on the dry side, come to think of it. But! Love wins out, plus, art comes from Giant Days' Max Sarin, and seeing that style applied to this adorable pair ensured this was a joy even when the script was being a bit heavy on the undigested therapy-speak. Sarin's take on the other characters is also great fun, especially the cartoon's shambolic take on Jim Gordon, who now additionally recalls every Giant Days character who ever had an extremely bad day.

Gotta loved an unapologetically queer action comedy comic with a strong grasp on it’s characters. Gives me hope that even if mergers mess up the series it’ll get to live on through quality comics

My only real complaint is that the print quality in the hardback does Vixen, Peaches and Reign dirty at some points. This is not a problem in the digitals or floppies so I won’t dock points for it but most darker colours and solid blacks take on a weird quality in these pages with some pages like the first cover seeming almost warped. This is bad for a book with a lot of shadows and night scenes and a lead who usually is dressed half in black, etc. it’s not even contained to scenes at night where it can be excused.

Harley and Ivy’s love is one of the cutest and most complicated things ever. Seeing them get together at the end of the show was so rewarding. Getting to see them continue that storyline here was even better. Fantastic!

The Harley and Ivy of "The Animated Series," (HBO Max) are really fun, and well drawn!

The artwork reminds me of the cartoons of Dave Berg in MAD Magazine, Will Eisner in his newspaper comic strip "The Spirit," and Garry Trudeau in "Doonesbury." Each panel in Harley and Ivy is rich in detail; and enhances the pace of the story line or intensifies the action of a scene (whether it depicts a wild good guy - bad guy brawl, a joint bubble bath for our two heroines, or a pajama girl sleep over pillow fight). Speaking of bubble baths and pillow fights -- WHO THOUGHT IT WAS SMART TO LET MEN DRAW THIS STUFF? Haha.

The story is packed with humor, silliness, parody and sophomoric humor. The "Animated Series" pokes fun at the original print version relating the stories of our female heroes; and in turn the original print version of Harley and Ivy poked fun at the super-serious, male dominated, DC comics of days gone by: Superman, Captain America, Green Lantern Batman, etc -- all these guys, and the many tropes in which they traffick, are fair targets for the generic or specific, multi-layered, self-referential parody of the DC Universe.

This book takes place between Season 2 and Season 3 of the amazing Harley Quinn: The Animated Series. Harlivy are going on a honeymoon tour...kind of.

This story is quick paced, even though there's 6 issues packed into this collected volume. Each issue is like its own episode while still having an overarching story throughout the book. I've already watched Season 3 so I appreciated all the hints at what was to come for the charming duo.

So many of the side characters of the tv show are featured, as well as other DC characters that I don't believe have been on the show yet. Gordon continues to be his horrible cop self.

Tee Franklin is an awesome writer and human being. I loved how she included representation in this book. Queer representation. Disability representation. Black representation. Body representation. Not only is there diversity in the main cast of character, but also in the background characters as well.

I really enjoyed when Ivy unpacked some of her own childhood trauma later in this volume.

Vixen was awesome.

I give this book a 5/5. If you enjoy the show, might as well pick this book up and see what they were up to between the seasons!

Honestly this comic was so nearly 5/5, and would have been just for the art alone. It stays quite close to the style of the show, and the speaking style of Harley and Ivy are kept quite close as well. The facial expressions in this book are AMAZING, and any comic artist who can do that is a winner for me. While the overarching book does read pretty much identical to an episode (or a couple) of the show, for that same reason I was a bit disappointed with the story. It felt like it was missing something, or maybe too much was just rushed over, particularly Ivy's (beginning) journey over all her trauma—her and Harley both were able to overpower all the enemies in a matter of panels throughout, unlike the drawn out fights on the show. I guess it just felt too "easy", even in comparison to some of the bizarre land they cover in the show.

(I think my favorite panel in the whole thing is the distracted boyfriend meme. iykyk)

Poor ivy is suffering emotionally, and she's afraid to share her feelings. Harley does her best to cheer her up by going on a roadtrip, but they have to ask Catwoman to watch the babies before they go...

This story takes place between season 2 and season 3 of the hbo series. I only watched the first season, but it gave a brief summary of what happened. I totally ship ivy instead of joker, so I was excited to find this at my library. I'm starting to get into graphic novels since I like having pictures. Harley's "vegetarian" hyenas are always a welcome sight. The scene of her bedroom is great. She has a poster of the two hyenas above her bed with a chewed stuffed animal which is cute. Of course there's a partially chewed stuffed batman too.

That was freaking awesome!!! I have to figure out how to watch the show. I don’t know much about the characters in either the DC or MCU world. But I loved this side of Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy! I feel like I was introduced to Vixen somewhere else but she’s in this too along with Cat Woman. Everybody but Commissioner Gordon wanted Harlivy to thrive😩😂. A great time to be alive!
This volume picked up when Season 2 left off and then the show is gearing up for Season 3 now I believe. I have not read Bingo Love yet and I need to get it together!

Ahhh, that was nice. I really liked it, and it hit most of the same notes as the cartoon did for me, albeit with only the tiniest bit of Clayface and King Shark. I liked the delve into Ivy's past/psyche, and the writing felt completely on track with the cartoon, so it really landed well. The art style being completely different distracted me a bit—I liked it, but found the use of exaggerated features for emotions/expressions with Ivy vaguely dissonant with her character from the show—but that's a tiny criticism in what was otherwise a really enjoyable road trip.

(Also any story including Ivy vs awful CEOs is always worth a smile.)
