3.5 dark smut-scale stars!
Mind the triggers in this one. Because holy cow. This might be one of her darkest alphas I’ve read so far.

This was completely over the top and very smutty. Mikhail was a complete lunatic and Bree was his perfect match. I know the nature of this book is meant to be smut but I was craving some more character development and a little more connection between Mikhail and Bree than just their shared kink. Overall, a good read if you’re looking for something pretty dark and dirty.

This is quick, diiiirty primal play novel… and I liked it.
Mikhail (30s) witnessed his parents being un a lived when he was ten. The man that takes him tells him that HE’S his real father. For the next two decades, he lives hidden behind a mask. He also becomes part of the Hunt Club- a smeex club specializing in primal kink. When he sees Bree, he knows she’s gonna be his, and no one’s gonna take her from him 👀.
Bree (24) cannot O unless she petrified. She’s seen therapists and tried tons of toys to no avail; she’s hoping this club will allow her to O. When she sees a man hidden behind a mask, she’s curious.
And then the games begin.
What I liked:
—the primal play 😉. This book does it well 😮💨. Because Bree needs it to be aggressive , raw, and hard… it gets… intense 😅 and it’s 🔥. Mikhail knows exactly what she needs and he proves her thoughts of being broken wrong 😉, because he gets her to 💦 many times
—the diiirty talk
—the OMD😈. Don’t touch what’s his 💅 or else 💀
—the intensity in their connection. Yes. It’s Insta everything, but it’s definitely magnified with these two
—knowing her better than she knows herself 😅 especially in 🔥 times
—how OTT and alpha he is 🥵
—the epilogue scene 😈
What I wanted more of: spoilers
—length (that’s what she said 🤣). I know it’s a novella, but still. I had questions, like…
—how does she know his name? 🤔 she meets him, not by name, and when we go to her POV, she thinks his name 🤔 hoooow? 🤨
—what’s going on with his dad? We know he’s not a good guy… why is he still around? 🤣
—the un a living of the OM. Mikhail says he’s a bad guy but we never know why 🤷🏻♀️
—the mask-wearing. I wish we had more clarity on why he NEVER takes it off. I feel like this was brushed under the rug 🤷🏻♀️
—the positions they 🔥 in. Okay. Hear me out. When someone’s being chased, the person chasing is behind them right? So… when he catches and they *fall*, shouldn’t she be on her belly? 🤨 there were times I was 🤔 myself picturing what was going on. Against the tree? Okay… her belly? face? Back? How did A get to B? Ya know what I mean? I just needed more fluidity here 😬🫣. I kept changing it in my head 🤣
—I wish the epilogue was more detailed. I get it. It’s a novella. But hey. I’ve read plenty of novellas where the epilogue made me bump up the score 😅. This is just a personal preference. I know plenty of people don’t care about this 🤷🏻♀️

I love these novellas and we finally get Mikhail story and he is the mask man who keeps to himself but when he plays at one of the sex clubs he is drawn to Bree a woman who has problems getting that O..she can only get off if she is scared! So fear play she thought she was messed up and broken but when she locked eyes with Mik things heat up between them when the chase finally happened. Steamy forest sex!!! Thinking it was only one time boy was Bree wrong because Mik had her scent and marked her as his.
Showing her all the dirty fantasys they can have Bree did Push away not loving his OTT alpha-Ness and mysterious no face she did run.
Glad Mikhail shower Bree his true colors and showed her his face and his story. Good for them!!

I wish I was someone who loves these little novellas, but I’m just not. I always try them out thinking they’ll be different from others I’ve read and I’ll actually enjoy them this time, but I’m always disappointed because these are just not for me.

I literally love these books, where you don’t have to think, you can just listen to the audio and unwind from the day… “as he takes the 🔫 barrel and places it against my 🐱” (*cough, cough*)… yes… very demure, very mindful.
I’m in for a good time, not a long time, so this ticked my primal box for the day x

This novella was the one I was looking forward to the most but I didn’t enjoy as much as I thought. It was a great and easy (dark) read- 76 pages.
There are lots of intense triggers in this book so please check those.
Mikhail is a big ol’ giant of a man, who has a mask and is very emotionally damaged. The moment he sees our girl Bree he is obsessed. He goes on this hunt where Bree is the prey and kills another hunter who was going for Bree. Then they had sex. Lots of sex. Sex here, sex there, sex everywhere. If there was a problem that needed to be addressed, boom, sex.

Loved it!
It was crude, filthy, and a lot F’d up. I couldn’t get enough of it. I knew going in it was short with not a lot of plot but I wish it was longer just because I loved it so much. I’ll have to read the rest of the series. Maybe even the reverse harem and that shiz is normally not for me. Mika had me hooked!

This one is quite dark, so it’s VERY important to mind your triggers and only read if you’re comfortable with everything listed. This story is unapologetic in what it delivers. It jumps straight into business, fast, rough, and intense,which makes sense for our FMC, as fear is the only thing that gets her off.
The characters were fun and interesting. I liked that the FMC felt very “normal” on the outside, but fully understood her needs and sought out a semi-safe way to explore them through a club.
Our masked MMC was immediately intriguing; the moment he spots her, he knows he wants her. And the dirty talk was hot. I absolutely adored that aspect.
I really wish I could have rated this higher because the potential here was huge. Unfortunately, it felt too short and rushed for me, leaving far too many threads unanswered. If certain elements or plot pieces are introduced, I want to see them fully utilized or expanded on.
The spice is rough and hits hard, this is definitely on the darker end of dark romance, but there were moments where I struggled to picture how scenes moved from point A to point B. Some details felt missing, and a few positional descriptions had me pausing to mentally map things out.
Overall, I strongly feel this story would shine as a longer novel. The concept, setting, and characters clearly have so much more to give, and I’d love to see it fully fleshed out.

Wow freaking wow🥵 This story was awesome and appraised my primal kink on all levels.😉 Bree is a young nurse that never had the big O, because she only gets hot if she is threatened and in danger. As soon as he sees sweet Bree the hunt is on🥵 An awesome primal story, with instalust , a whole lot of steamy scenes, a broken man that finally found his other half that helps him to overcome his past . I don't know how Mila did it but she managed to make a very spicy book have heart and had me feeling for Mik, the MMC, while also rooting for all the spice and pain he put "Mouse" the FMC through. When i tell you hunting and primal was never my thing at first, I didn't get it but now... 🥵 I get it. There is so much spice in this and the spice just hits each and every time. Like why doesn't this happen to me in real life, well actually if the work scene happened to me I would be out of a job and in this economy I need that so maybe it's good it didn't happen to me. From the audio, James Cassidy, the man that you are. The voices were perfect and absolutely made the book come to life. Like I was kicking my little feet while checking, double checking, and triple checking that my sound wasn't actually outloud because the looks I would have gotten... definitely listen at home. Late at night. With a BOB (fully charged) or man nearby.

This novella packs a punch in just under 2 hours. Mikhail and Bree, predator and prey. Both finding what they crave with each other. Bree is more than happy to be in the clutches of the masked Mikhail, but she doesn’t expect what happens next, but she definitely enjoys it! Delightfully dark, gloriously spicy, with a thorough plot. This novella had my attention from start to finish. I loved the story and definitely enjoyed the writing. Please check the content warnings. There is nothing vanilla about this novella.
Narrated in duet by Ehlen Valentine and James Cassidy, this audiobook was every bit of a 5-star. Ehlen performed Bree perfectly. Already being a fan of her narration, I was excited to hear this novella. She did not disappoint! James Cassidy crushed it as Mikhail. Emotional, seductive, and has a great Russian accent. Great kids voice too. Wonderful performances. Loved it.
