When a dishevelled man walks into Derbyshire police station and admits to murdering over four hundred people, the entire East Midlands Special Operations Unit jumps into action.

DI Alex Swanson is suspicious of this soft spoken murderer, Billy Bailey. He doesn't look capable of murdering one person, never mind hundreds. Even if he did, why does he suddenly want to confess?

But then again, why would anyone lie about being a murderer?

As the body count grows, it appears Billy Bailey is at least telling the truth about where his long list of victims ended up. But when a victim disappears whilst Billy is still in custody, Swanson's suspicions grow. He digs deeper and reveals a horrifying network of lies and deceit far too close to home.

It's a web he needs to unravel before time runs out, or yet more young women will be taken from their families for good.

This was a page turner! I read it in less than 2 days wanting to find out what was going to happen. Reads fine as a standalone! But I enjoyed DI Swanson so I’m going to read the rest of the series when I have the time

Wow Ashley has managed to do it again. Once you pick the book up you can't put it down. Full of brilliant twists and you feel yourself being pulled in. Following on from the previous books in the series the characters keep you guessing but you never know and can never guess what's going to happen. I read the new book in less than 3 days and now can't wait for the story of Summer and Swanson 🥰 x highly recommend on reading it x Well done and thank you Ashley x

Better Than the Rest

This was by far the best book in the series. I don’t personally think one would *have* to read the ones prior to this in order to know what was going on; however, there are brief mentions of stuff happening “in the last year,” so maybe if you wanted to know the details of those happenings. I would love to see this as a movie, although it probably wouldn’t compare to the “movie” playing in my mind thanks to the author.

Great continuation of the Summer and Swanson story! Billy Bailey walks into the police station, confesses to hundreds of murders but will only talk to Summer. DI Swanson is tasked with unraveling the entire twisted, thrilling and convoluted truth. Read this in 2 sittings, loved the story line and as always, great characters. This is a great series.

I love these books. I’ve read four in about a week and a half and I can’t seem to put them down.. it’s helped to distract things in the outside world, just reading a good book.

I love these books. They are so easy to read and the storyline is usually so exciting and suspenseful. The dynamic between Swanson and Hart as well makes this enjoyable to read.

Another great addition to this series & I love how the relationship between Summer & Swanson is developing.

Billy Bailey walks into a police station & wants to confess, but only to Summer. Summer isn’t a police officer so how does he know her?

An intriguing tale & it certainly went in a direction I wasn’t expecting. Easy to read & roll on book 5.
