This book has a lot of research into humility. It’s written in a conversational tone, which makes it easy to read, and he has peppered it throughout with his humor.

I learned a lot from him and am grateful I read it. I like his explanations of false humility, vainglory, and suggestions for climbing toward true humility. I especially appreciated his description of St. Anselm’s mountain of humility.

Thoroughly researched and is mostly a regurgitation of different perspectives on various aspects of the virtue of humility. Doesn’t add anything new. I really wish the reader would have been more vulnerable in his approach, if not with personal anecdotes then at least with tackling tough topics, such as the role of humility for those of us who have experienced abuse or serious suffering.

I thought it was a helpful synopsis of humility from many great thinkers and spiritual leaders throughout history but I think I would have enjoyed it much more if he had incorporated much more of his own experience and anecdotes from his life to help illustrate humility and bring it alive - I do like his incorporation of different saints lives but again I think more stories and personal reflections from his own life would have been much more enjoyable verses feeling like your reading a textbook on humility
