Jacqui Shepherd
47 books19 followersJacqui Shepherd, children's author, was born in Zimbabwe, started her schooling years in England and now resides in South Africa. As a child her favourite books were Winnie the Pooh and Dr. Seuss. She is a big Roald Dahl fan. Jacqui first began creating stories to amuse her four children. Although Jacqui's children are now grown up and making their own way in the world, they remain her inspiration. Jacqui inherited her storytelling talent from her father, Lancelot Steven Shepherd, and in loving memory of him she publishes all her work under her maiden name. Although all of Jacqui's stories are entertaining, some of them have the the added benefit of important lessons, which equip children with values and attitudes that help them in their daily lives. Jacqui believes it is important to read to a child and to teach a child to love reading. She is in full agreement with the famous Dr. Seuss quote, "You are never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child."

Twinkle, twinkle, five stars!
I love a good series where each character shares their uniqueness and life lessons in each book. I highly recommend Sing-o-saurus for children who love to express their energy in a creative way! My favorite message I got from this was to show children that music is to be sung not just on good days, but on bad ones too. It can be so healing and that’s what I enjoyed about this the most. The illustrations are very precious. The song list at the end was such a nice touch. It was fun making up my own tune as well as singing the lyrics to popular tunes. As I sang, I rubbed my dog’s belly and by the feel of his energy, he was really enjoying himself. It’s just one of those books that make you enjoy the moment. I can’t wait to read this and sing along with my little cousins. I’m looking forward to checking out the rest of the Dino series! I also love supporting great female authors and illustrators as a team. Brava!

This singing dino brings a smile to my face.
Sing-o-Saurus: The singing dinosaur was a delightful read. The character was charming and likable. I enjoyed the bright colors of each illustration, and every page nicely reflected the story. Sing-o-Saurus: The singing dinosaur is an easy read for early readers and would be entertaining for girls and boys alike. The imaginative idea of a dinosaur who sings except when he eats or sleeps brings a smile to my face. I would recommend this book for all readers for a fun spirited read.

Such a lovely book about a dinosaur who loves to sing. It's written in a simple but fun way, letting young children understand the story, and helping beginner readers enjoy the wording through and through. As a bonus, there is a small song list at the end, which was a nice touch. Accompanied by cute illustrations, this is a great book for readers young and old.

A fun and sweet story
I enjoyed this story. It was fun to read and had a happy/sweet time to it. As the title suggests, it’s about a dinosaur who sings. He sings everywhere, no matter the mood. This story has simple, easy to read sentences that will make it easy for young readers to listen to and read in their own. The illustrations are sweet and simple like the story.

Cute singing dinosaur story
I enjoyed reading about the singing Dino. What a cute story! The singing Dino loved singing so much that he would sing all the time. The author also included sings at the end of the story to sing a long with the Dino. Great addition to the story!

We love Sing-o-saurus
My daughter and I enjoyed reading this book about the singing dinosaur. This book was a great pick to help her with her reading skills. Plus it was enjoyable and we enjoyed the activity pages in the back of the book.

Do What You Love
This is the cutest illustrated book about the cutest dinosaur that does what he loves, all day long! The joy he expresses through his singing spreads to others, so much that they even love what he does. Now, that I’ve song along with the tunes at the end of the book, let’s see how long the melody linger in my head! Fun book!

Fun book!
What a fun book! My niece and nephew loved this book. They were engaged and the captivated by the illustrations. Now they want to sing all the time. Having the little songs to the tune of nursery rhymes made it even more fun for them!

Delightful Story!
I felt so good to find a book that was very relatable.Like sing-o-saurus, my son likes to sing so much and would sing almost everywhere. The story was fun, very entertaining and I personally think that it was brilliant to include new songs at the end of the story.If you have a child in your life who likes to sing, this book is surely a must-read.

I enjoyed reading this children's book to my neices and nephews. They love to sing and were excited to hear a story about a dinosaur. The illustrations were colorful and simple and easy for the kids to make connections to the text. I definitely recommend this book.

A wonderful book which brings together two of the things my daughter loves the most, music and dinosaurs! One of the gifts we have been given as humans is music, and I am always glad to discover books that promote the joy of singing above all else. However, this is not the only thing that the story teaches, as you will discover. I think it is the perfect story to encourage children to embrace the things they love and become more confident in themselves.
A jolly dinosaur who loves to sing? Count me in! I read this beautiful book to my daughter, and we had so much fun! The adorable character sings in all kinds of weather, whether he feels good or poorly, day and night, alone or with others. He sings babies to sleep, tries his talent during bubbles baths, or even when doing his chores. Young kids will definitely fall in love with this fun dinosaur and find the courage to sing as well, as my daughter did. A beautiful story about self-confidence and sharing your voice with the world, as the author cleverly puts it.
While reading this book to my daughter, I could tell that she was drawn to the story and the cute dino. We even tried some songs, having a wonderful time together. Many kids nowadays have trouble expressing themselves, so I think we need more stories like this one. We should all celebrate the joy of singing, kids and adults alike. At the end of the book, there are some wonderful bonuses, such as activities and discussions. I love when authors include bonuses, as it helps kids work on themselves and feel more confident about the world in general.
Accompanied by darling illustrations done by the talented SKlakina, the story reflects the magic of singing to perfection. The story is cheerful, encouraging kids to fall back on singing during hard times. The best thing about it is that it “nudges” kids to sing either alone or accompanied, feeling free to express themselves. This is a cute book that encourages kids to sing. The book follows a dino who loves to sing and songs all the time. Illustrations are lovely and story is well written. Good book.
