I enjoyed this story. Samantha was a strong, brave young woman doing her best to survive years in captivity. A lycan toddler is tossed into her cage after she's been there about 10 years, and she's told to watch it until they set up her sale.
Lucas is a 300 yr old warrior/knight, part of an ancient organization responsible for hiding the Templar treasure for the last 800 years. He and the others of his order are called upon by the elders for various outside protection and investigative jobs. One of those jobs is the missing lycan toddler. It's during this case that he catches scent of his fated mate. She disappears, along with the toddler, before he can find her.
Samantha also caught the scent of her mate. She knows that she needs to escape the evil, twisted humans that have been holding her prisoner, and that she has to save the toddler as well. If she can find her mate, she knows he will protect her at all costs.
Both of the main characters were likable. The side characters are very well done - some are very likable, others are detestable, but they are all solid characters. Despite this, there was something missing. I haven't read the first in the series, and perhaps the knights and treasure and all that are explained better there, but I felt like this was almost a fantastic story. I wanted to know more of the history of the order, of the lycan hierarchy, the treasure, etc. I honestly think the set up and history would make its own great story. Without that background, it's like a part of Lucas' personality and life was unknown.
It was still a very enjoyable read, it just could have been more.

* I received a free copy of this book from Voracious Readers Only *

Short and sweet, with some action on the side.

As a whole, this book was a nice read, where you get a little bit of action, paranormal romance, and feel-good moments. With that being said, this book was pretty short, so everything felt a little bit rushed. I will say, the first chapter also threw me off, as it didn’t have much relevance to the rest of the story too. I did enjoy seeing how the 2 main characters became more acquainted with each other as the story went on. However, some of the scenes (specifically the sex scenes) were a little cringey for me.

Otherwise, it read very well! I enjoyed it!

If you are looking for a little fun reading this is your book!!!!! Lucas and his brothers are a whole vibe by themselves. The Knights gives us the reader adventure, experience, and love for each other. That is enough of a reason to pick up this easy read. But, once Samantha enters the picture the story goes up a notch and than some.
I highly recommend this book especially if you like gorgeous men, laughing out loud, and steamy tasteful romance. Thank you Voracious Readers Only and author for my free copy of book.
