Listened to the Audiobook. It was cheap on Chirp. So I'm all for fantasy in these books. I'll forgive letting a complete stranger come to your hotel room in the middle of the night to have s*x with you. Seems like a great way to be un-alived but whatever. What I can't forgive is the incessant back and forth and the same argument that happened the entire book.

'Back where I belong with Anna Durand and a brand new series, a truly brilliant place to be. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else'
What a way to welcome in the New Year than with a read from one of my favourite, go-to, must read authors. I could think of no one I would've wanted to kickstart off a brand new reading year with than with Anna Durand. Starting a brand new series only makes it all the sweeter or in this case, more pleasurable.
This book sees a return to the Au Naturel series, if you are a reader of the previous novels in that series. I'm not one of those people. I joined Anna's ARC team after those books and this was my first introduction to anything and everything Au Naturel. I had no idea what was headed my way, but that's what made things all the more exciting as I ventured into this unknown world and meeting the characters that lay within it.
Natural Obsession has all the things that I know and love about Anna and her writing. It feels like coming home while also discovering something new. The best of both worlds. This world this time, however, was promised to us to be something else. Sexier. Sinful. Sans clothes. What happens on the island, stays on the island. And a lot is being offered up on the island without a care in the world or inhibition. All bets--and clothes--are off, for the guests. But what happens when one of the guests has her eyes set on loftier pursuits? The job of the island manager is to cater to the guests' every needs, but is this one need he won't be able to cater to? There's only one way to find out.
As a seasoned reader of all things smutty, steamy and spicy, I was keen to see just how much Natural Obsession lived up to its promise of delivering those things while on the island resort. Thankfully, there were no worries in that department. Natural Obsession offers up its own brand of sexy, steamy and spicy, something only a nudist resort could offer that other romance novels couldn't get away with in a more rural setting. I was definitely a fan of how Anna set things up here in this novel, and it's all thanks to our main characters of Holly Temple and James Bythesea.
James and Holly have their own reasons for coming to the island, and their paths inevitably cross when fate decides to throw them both a bone. James is a natural-born leader, authority figure and determined man when he puts his mind to something, despite his natural anxieties. He's determined to not live up to past mistakes while resisting temptation. Holly is that temptation. Here for her own reasons, Holly narrows in on her fixation for James as he is forbidden to her both by guest-employee and personal boundaries set by James himself. They are well suited for one another more than they--mores so James--thinks, and have to ride out more than a physical storm to get to the better, greener grass side. I fell for these two instantly, and genuinely wish I could've read even more about them.
Though this was my first trip to the island, I sure hope it won't be my last. Regardless of where the series takes us next, I see a repeat visit to this story firmly in my sights. I'm not ready to say adieu to James and Holly yet.
Thank you, Anna, for writing such a brilliant introduction to a series (even though it's a follow-up to a previous one), for a first-time reader to this enticing world. I couldn't have asked for a better start to 2023!

Shane East and Erin Mallon were outstanding in this delicious audiobook.
Erin was outstanding in portraying the sweet yet cheeky Holly, determined to get her man: she was relentless in her pursuit of James and she captured Holly’s bubbly, vibrant and seductive persona perfectly and I was cheering her on!
Shane is just the master of the broody, grumpy, broken British Hero that is James Bythesea that we all love and fall hard for: it’s Shane at his swooniest, especially when he finally got out of his own head and opened his heart to Holly, and gave in to their attraction to each other, and boy their chemistry was off the charts: Shane and Erin brought the heat and the spice…this is one of Annas most spicy offerings and I’m always here for it. Did I mention accents? Shane and Erin were excellent in their accent work: Shane is the #AceOfAccents and he continues to bring his A game and now we can add a Kiwi (New Zealand) accent to his repetoire! Likewise for Erin! They are brilliant!
I devoured this audiobook and it was everything I expected and more from Anna - she’s my go-to for delicious steamy rom-coms with a twist.

Anna Durand pens another winning novel and an amazing and steamy start to her new “Au Naturel Night” series. “Natural Obsession” is James and Holly’s story, a story that grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it the entire book. James is the manager of the Au Naturel Naturist Resort, the guests shed their clothes but he keeps to his business attire and is in a professional mode at all times. It was never a problem keeps a distant relationship with all the guests, but that all changes when she arrives. Holly stirs something in him, something he has not felt in a long time. Holly always wanted to vacation at a nudist resort and when she needed an escape from her life back home, now was the perfect time to go. When she saw James she knew she wanted him, but he kept blowing her off, had his excuses, one being she was too young for him, but he was kidding himself, the chemistry between them was sizzling hot and he could only deny himself for so long. Not wanting to break his professional code, he needs to have her to get her out of his system and when the opportunity arises he jumps on it, or rather her, but his plan backfires on him. I loved these two together and for each other, they both have demons from their past, his hold him back from allowing anyone in, but she did not give up on him, the more he pushed her away the harder she tried to get in. This wonderfully written and plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, heartfelt emotions, heartfelt emotions, and sizzling hot romance. Anna Durand, thank you for another enjoyable and fabulously entertaining story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

They have a compete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit their persona perfectly and were believable in every role they played. East as James was perfection, grasped every side of his personality, his uptightness to his steamy and swoon worthy side. Mallon was a natural as Holly, feisty and full of life. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture the character’s emotions and project them into their performance, making you feel every single one. Holy hot tamales, this is a steamy book! It was very well named as James Bythesea, the general manager of Au Naturel Naturist Resort, South Sea, is totally obsessed with Holly Temple, guest. As we read the story we find that both are starting over after tragic events in their lives. James is the grumpy to Holly's sunshine and they are total opposites. But Holly recognizes that she can help James if he'll just let her in. That in a nutshell is the struggle in this story. Each of their stories come out through the book. James is so closed up I was beginning to think we wouldn't have a happily ever after but he finally realized he couldn't live without Holly in his life.
James Bythesea, 45, is a very closed off man riddled by guilt and grief. His past actions destroyed his family and his job. His whole life blew up in his face by doing the right thing. Eve and Val Silva, owners of the resort decided he was the perfect man to open their new resort on the island of Heirani Motu close to Figi. He's taking his responsibilities very seriously. Then Holly storms into his life, arriving late delaying the grand opening.
Holly Temple is 27 and starting over after her three year boyfriend cheated on her with a co-worker. She was a 911 operator and took a call from a woman being beaten to death by her husband. Holly talked her through the ordeal but the police arrived too late. This and her love life caused her to decide to start over with new priorities. She spends most of her savings to go on this nudist adventure that's very out of the ordinary for her. But when she meets James her need to help charges to the surface and she recognizes he needs her help. They also have incredible chemistry together. And that sets of a very steamy adventure for both of them to a HEA.

And now I’m in the mood for a tropical island getaway! Natural Obsession by Anna Durand was a steamy, age-gap, tropical island getaway romance that had me smiling, fanning, and swooning from start to finish. James and Holly’s romance is full of deep desires, giving into temptation, and learning to love no matter what obstacles may stand in the way. This book is HOT, and I may be obsessed with this new Au Naturel Naturist Resort South Seas world that Anna has created!
Erin Mallon and Shane East narrate this audiobook, bringing the heat and the passion for Holly and James' forbidden, magnetic chemistry. (This book is spicy!) Erin portrayed Holly’s bold ambition, tenacity, and want for James in a vibrant, flirty performance that had me cheering for her to snag her man! (Yes, lady!) Shane’s performance of James’ haunted, alluring, and charismatic persona made me fall hard as he let down his emotional walls and finally let himself love Holly! (Swoon!)
Overall, I LOVED this book! If you are a fan of an age-gap tropical island getaway romance with a hunky British resort manager, a brazen outgoing heroine ready for a fresh start, becoming a Naturist, Miniten, terracotta bowls, an island resort in the South Pacific, a masquerade ball, lots of steamy times, private plane flights, romantic weekends for two, cyclone threats, healing from the past, learning to love again, and a HEA that will become your new obsession, then you will love James and Holly’s story. I always look forward to more from Anna Durand!

I give this story 3.5*
On a beautiful tropical island, James Bythesea manages a nudist resort. The first guests arrive and he is obsessed with a guest, Holly Temple.
Holly meets James and is impressed by his voice and clothed body. After converting all her savings to vacation at this resort for 2 weeks she also wants a vacation fling and James is her chosen candidate. But even though she sees that James is also interested in her, he does everything to stay away from her.
He throws all the reasons at her feet. She is a guest, she is too young (18 years younger) and he is too bad for her. Because he has a past that he is not proud of and has destroyed everything around him. His wife has left him, his children don't want to see him anymore and even his parents don't want to know him anymore.
What is his dark secret? And is this dark enough to make Holly run away from him?
All in all a decent story but I only felt irritation towards Holly. I didn't think the way she approaches James over and over again didn't come across as a grown woman. But James also did not come across well on paper. And their constructive relationship, in my eyes, consisted only of sex.
No, I can't give this more than a 3.5*.

All in all a decent story but I only felt irritation towards Holly. I didn't think the way she approaches James over and over again didn't come across as a grown woman. But James also did not come across well on paper. And their constructive relationship, in my eyes, consisted only of sex.
No, I can't give this more than a 3.5*.

I am so glad Anna Durand is continuing the Au Naturel world with this new series, Au Naturel Nights! Natural Obsession is book 1. James is the GM of a new naturist resort location on a tropical island near Fiji, working for Eve and Val. This is a new start for him after a tragic past and he is determined to stay out of trouble. Holly is on vacation to let go and has set her sights directly on James being her escape. On this beautiful island, surrounded by other naturists, he is the only one to catch her eye…and vice versa. Their instant connection is palpable, but he is set on denying his attraction due to darkness in his past, her age, and the fact that she is a client. There is an 18-year age gap, but Holly is a sex-positive bad-ass who sees the attraction he keeps hidden and wants him right back. Her pursuit of James is quite determined. As they unravel their past experiences and begin to heal together the romance catches them off guard. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this very promising smexy series!

This was my first Anna Durand book, and I had high hopes—especially with Shane East and Erin Mallon narrating (they are fantastic!). But Natural Obsession left me with really mixed feelings.
Yes, it’s erotica, and I do enjoy steamy reads—but this one took a turn into weird. It was a miss for me, despite the promising setup and strong narrators.
The tropical island setting was a nice touch, but the story itself? Not so much.
Holly’s relentless pursuit of the hero felt borderline harassment, which made it hard to enjoy the romantic arc. The nudist resort concept quickly went from quirky to off-putting—especially with everyone being nude literally all the time, even during meals. Just… no thanks.
The “secret” about the hero’s past and his family drama felt weak and totally unearned. It tried to add emotional weight but ended up feeling unjustified and flat.
If you're purely here for the smut, you'll probably get what you're looking for. But if you're after character development, believable romance, or meaningful conflict, this might not be it.

It’s the grand opening of the new Au Naturel resort and James is determined to make it a success. But he wasn’t counting on the bewitching Holly showing up and spinning everything he knows out of control. Holly is ready to let loose and be her best self at the resort. And the moment she and James meet, they have a sizzling chemistry. But James is all business and refuses to admit what could be. But Holly is undeterred and makes it her mission to be with James.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "NATURAL OBSESSION" I was hooked on this story from the start it pulls you right in its interesting, secrets, entertaining, plenty of steamy scenes, you can't put down toll finished.
James ruined his life in UK by doing the right thing thankfully he gets a new job away from there he's a manager of Au Nature Naturist Resort on a private island in the Pacific adults only & only the staff wear clothing.
Holly Temple arrives at Resort one look & James is lost she young enough to be his daughter, but he wants her enough that takes off his clothes at Masquerade Party only with a mask, seduced her that night then again next might, determined not to do it again but she others his buttons, he's obsessed with her.
I definitely recommend to get this well written story Jane's & Holly take you on quite the steamy journey, what will happen when she finds out his secret will they get a HEA you must get this book to see how things turns out a must read you don't want to miss.

Hot & steamy, but I definitely had some dislikes about this book.
First of all, if the roles were reversed & James was talking & behaving that way to Holly (or any other woman) that would be a disgusting & frightening level of sexual harassment. I also can’t say I blame him entirely for being so turned off by how big their age gap is.
I also couldn’t help but feel disappointed that his big secret was what it was. It seemed like his wife & kids reaction to it was totally unjustified & out of proportion. It’s not like he was orchestrating it! I also think that Holly’s reaction when she discovered the other thing that James was hiding from her was blown out of proportion.
As far as likes go, the spicy parts were pretty hot & the mental imagery of the settings was very well done. I just felt like the story fell apart after he finally disclosed his big scary secret & why he “wasn’t any good” for her.

The start of a new spinoff series there is very little overlap that I could recognize from the rest of the broader world that Anna writes it. This is a great entry point for new readers because you won't be overwhelmed by the cast of characters from all the previous books.
As with a lot of Anna's books, we get attraction from the first meeting and it's a fantastic ride from there. Lots of spice and physical interactions, but we also get to know the characters in and around the intimate moments.
For Holly and James, they both have some past trauma that has brought them to the resort (him to work, her to play) but as they both open up to each other you feel the depth of their scars and what that might mean for their future happiness (apart or together).
The audiobook was performed by Erin Mallon and Shane East. I love these two separately and together they were such a joy to listen to. Erin's accent work for James was delightful and she always brings a smile to my face with Holly's lightness even when "torturing" James' secrets out of him. Shane melts my heart with his emotional range and the headspinning changes in James' resolve where Holly is concerned. Overall I enjoyed this one and would be very happy to visit the Au Natural resort again.

Anna delivers with a spicy (one of her spiciest yet), age-gap romance with plenty of emotions. The story follows James is the manager of nudist retreat and Holly one of the retreats new guests. They have an immediate connection but he keeps her at and arms length due to their age difference and events from his past. Despite that these two not only have explosive chemistry but they both help each other heal from their past traumas. I loved that Holly never gave up on him no matter how much he pushed her away and she was able to finally break down the walls he put up!
Erin Mallon and Shane East are perfect as the bubbly Holly and the broody James and did a great job bringing to life the chemistry of these two characters. Be sure to have a fan ready because these two also bring the heat! I loved the story and narration another great one from Anna!

This was an age gap, grumpy sunshine romance by Anna Durand. I listened to this on audio, narrated by Shane East and Erin Mallon. Narration was fantastic. A younger Holly takes a vacation after leaving her job and meets a grumpy British resort manager at a nudist resort. James is not interested in a relationship, but decides to seduce Holly, hiding his identity. She wears on him and gradually gets him to open up. It took a bit for me to get used to Holly because she was so annoying at first. The story flows well and the sex scenes flow naturally within the story with definite heat. This is more of a general romance, with some drama. Each grew as individuals with the help of each other. Better listened to, than read, due to excellent narration.

Natural Obsession (Au Naturel Nights Book 1) by Anna Durand is an awesome beginning to this series! Holly and James both view the Naturist resort as an escape and haven. Both have experienced heartbreak, but their responses are so very different. James is hiding behind a gruff, grumpy and stuffy façade while Holly embraces her open-mindedness with her sunshine free spirit.
The plot takes the reader through the paces, as the author reveals bits and pieces of the characters backgrounds slowing, but steadily. One can’t help but be gripped by the heartbreaking experiences. Honestly, it only made this reader more determined to see their happiness restored. Despite her sunshiny attitude, Holly is working through her own dilemma, but also determined to help James heal. James, ever the grump, resists until he no longer can, although he does this in a backwards way that is likely to backfire.
Overall, this steamy affair seems to have an expiration date, but persistence and determination prevail. Holly and James find a way to have their HEA and the reader is left satisfied yet wondering who will be next to find love and a happy ending at Au Naturel Naturist Resort South Seas.

Who would love to visit a tropical paradise and at this exclusive resort naturist are able to be free. Our wonderful Naturist Resort owners from Oregon have wxpanded into the South Pacific, and with the new onsite general manager they expect to see business booming.
Anna continues to amaze me with her imagination, and the way she brings characters to life. James is a complicated man, closed off for reasons of his own, yet seems to not be able to resist Holly. Bubbly and willing to befriend everyone, including the grump who continues to push her away.

What's not to like about the set up - Nudist resort - manager in denial and a hot guest who forces his hand? Winner winner chicken dinner. Overall, James and Holly's story is definitely addictive - peeling away layers of each character (see what I did there?) as they fall into the acceptance of their need to be together.
I found Holly's determination to seduce James off-putting at times as the poor guy was dealing with so many of his own ghosts and torments that ripping his clothes off and just going there was always going to take him longer to do than Holly's youthful impatience seemed to weather.
Still - even a relationship based purely in great sex can have some appeal.

This is Book 1 in the Au Naturel Nights Series by this author. It is a steamy romance between James and Holly. These flawed but likeable characters and the unique plot make for an enjoyable read. What starts out as a one night of seduction turns into something more. It is a sweet love story with enough drama, steam, sweetness, frustrating moments, unexpected twists and turns, and engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested. The main characters share an undeniable chemistry and connection. Seriously entertaining.

There was no shortage of hotness in this book! Eve and Val hire James to manage their new resort. Holly travels to the resort which is her first visit to a naturist resort so she's a bit nervous. She and James meet and both are instantly smitten with each other. They have similar feelings but James continues to fight it because of their age difference. He always keeps her at arms length, but of course his plans go sideways. This was so hot and on top of that, they find they have a real connection.
Erin Mallon was the perfect sweet and sultry Holly to Shane East's grumpy James. They were just fantastic as always.

Great start to the new Au Naturel Nights series by Anna Durand. James is gruff, grumpy and not sure he wants to be the general manager of the new Au Natural resort, a new nudist colony. Holly is free spirited, beautiful, young, and a guest at the resort. There is instant chemistry between them, but he is very hesitant. The book is full od sizzle, steam, drama, a few surprises along the way. I look forward to the next book in the series. A solid 4 star read.

This is the first book in the Au Naturel Nights, a new crossover Series. I loved James and Holly's age-gap romance. James is enigmatic, handsome, and protective. Holly is younger, sunshine, talkative, funny, caring, and supportive. They are opposites attract. Their story is passionate, and emotional, filled with drama, humor, and sizzling chemistry. Shane East and Erin Mallon did an excellent job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to Natural Deception, the next book in the series.

A lovely hot, smexy novella. Some parts were quite steamy and I’m not just talking about the hot showers 🤪. There is all the way through the book a hint of a back story more for the MMC, as the FMC’s is what one would pretty much expect for her and using her savings to go on an expensive trip to a naturist island. All in all it was a romantic and smexy enjoyable read.

I really enjoyed this book. It was super steamy and had real-life issues involving the characters. James and Holly were wonderful characters that I really liked. I wish I had the confidence that Holly had. She is getting over a bad breakup and a bad occurrence at work. She shows up at the resort and starts gunning for James.
