This is one teacher even class pets know better than to piss off...

MR. JONES

I’m who you call if you want information out of someone but don’t want your own hands to get dirty. You might even say I enjoy it. But one thing in my world is separate from the dangerous: I'm a teacher, and it's a job I love.

When someone starts auctioning off young women at my school as an attack on me, a fellow teacher gets involved. One human auction later and I’m saddled with a stupidly brave man who’s too impulsive for his own good.

If he finds out who I really am under this mask, everything will come crashing down.

VINCE

All I was doing was trying to keep a student safe, but this Southern gentleman’s attempt at shining knighthood ended with me in chains.

I’m not sure whether being bought by the masked stranger calling himself Mr. Nice Guy was a blessing or a curse, but it has definitely introduced me to a whole new world--and I don’t just mean all the whips and chains he keeps around. It’s the loving family man that I’m surprised to meet. And he’s the one I find myself longing to get to know a little better.

I wasn’t a fan of Mr. Jones after Conner’s book, but I wanted to give him a chance. I am fine with dark when it comes to violence, but I’m finding there are definitely lines for me when it comes to mc’s and BDSM. For the first half of the book i thought I could like Vince and Mr. Jones together. But then Vince started changing and for me it was not for the better. I mistakenly thought that maybe he would soften some of Mr. Jones hard edges, but it was the other way around. He brought Vince down to his level. My point of no return was the scene with the disgusting other coach and the body shaming. I don’t think I’ve ever quit on a series, but this might be the first. I gave it 3 stars because it’s not the authors fault that I can’t stomach sharing and humiliation. There are many glowing reviews, so I’m probably the outlier.

ARC received from GRR for an honest review.

SPOILERS!!
SPOILERS!!

Vince is a math teacher and counselor at a new school. When he's approached by a student from his old school about a possible scholarship he's immediately suspicious and offers to check it out himself. While waiting on the person for the scholarship meeting he's kidnapped and taken to a human trafficker's home to be sold. He doesn't think his night could get much worse until he sees the man who buys him and is thoroughly turned on.

Mr. Jones is a home economics teacher and coach at the same school as Vince. He doesn't do feelings or relationships. He stumbles across a murder drop and realizes he knows the two deceased. When he finds out there's five other deceased that he knows and has had dealings with, he realizes that someone is trying to set him up. When he finds out that someone close to home is assisting in this set-up, it brings trouble to the Blood Brothers.

This was an interesting and sometimes funny story, with some horrible backstories thrown in, that didn't quite hit the mark for me. I didn't like that Mr. Jones took the other Brothers to task over Lotus calling Connor a whore and treating him poorly in book three; yet he himself called Connor that very same thing in this book. He treats people poorly and yet calls others out for doing the same thing. I didn't like Mr. Kraemer at all. I didn't think he had any redeeming qualities. Mr. Jones didn't like him either and was contemplating killing him; yet he shared Vince with him. Mr. Jones wanted Vince to change everything about his personality to have a relationship with him but wasn't willing to change anything for Vince. Mr. Jones had nothing redeeming about him either. He did a few good deeds but they were basically self-serving. Rex once again put Lotus before the Brothers and it caused problems. He did finally get his act straight in the end but I'm not sure he's trustworthy. Lotus did get some punishment but no nearly enough IMO. Mr. Jones dominance and slight BDSM was sometimes cringe worthy and others just laughable. It wasn't believable IMO. I hope the rest of the Brothers get their stories and I'd really like to read Valentine's story.

No rating DNF at 20%… I don’t understand how this book has so many glowing reviews. I’ve read Pretty for Master by this author and enjoyed the craziness of it but it almost felt like this was the same-ish book. I am 1000% all for having a plus size MC but the way that it was written felt almost fetishized. The one MC Mr. Jones kept talking about how he wanted to pinch the flubby softness. If that’s you’re thing cool, it’s not mine. Just like when I read a Merikan book that had an MC who loved amputee stumps. Different strokes for different folks. And Vince kept using the word fork instead of fuck. Like we get you’re a teacher but they can cuss bro. Just not feeling this brand of craziness I guess.

I don't know quite what to say. This book was problematic and hard to read. It was full of typos, and it seemed like there was no end to what the author would include in the storyline. I felt the author lost focus, and it became more and more convoluted and unbelievable.

Another fantastic book to the series! The author once again brings strong well developed characters and an action packed story line and delivers a winner! She does a great job developing the story and pulled me in right from the start. I was glued to the pages with all the twists and turns as well as all the happenings along the way. She paints her scenes in vivid detail and moves the story quickly and smoothly. It's well written and is a wonderful story.

This book isn’t just fun it’s quite funny. Val is terrific. In fact every character on Mr. Nice Guy’s side was great. Vince, I loved his naive upbringing and his loyalty. This story fits so well into this series. The suspenseful route, the romance and the humor all had me looking forward to any moments I could find to read this story. I was extremely entertained and can say with all honesty this author kept me enthralled to the very last page. Well done, great job and I hope many more follow in the near future. Firstly let me say I’ve got this book of gay romance reviews and this is me leaving my honest review
I am going to be totally honest and say I have nowhere to start with this book don’t get me wrong totally loved it but Mr nice guy? Where do you start I went from dislike, like, dislike, like oh my Days!! really dislike, then like. Mr Jones is his real name and he is part of the blood brothers he is an assassin and he enjoys what he does. In fact he takes great pleasure in doing what he does. He had a difficult upbringing. He loved it don’t get me wrong he was brought up in a cult loads of kids to play with until he found out what it was about. Because at the age of 15 he was forced into an arrange marriage with basically his half sister. But it didn’t work out he just could not love her he had no feelings for her. And he basically escaped that life. He was repeatedly told he just couldn’t love anyone he didn’t understand what those feelings were and if you’re told it often enough you’ll start to believe it plus with his job he couldn’t afford to have feelings for anyone. Don’t get me wrong he bought up his son his adopted son who is just out of this world oh my golly I cannot wait for his book Valentine oh my woohoo he just makes me smile throughout this whole book. Lol back to mr nice guy, Mr Jones is Hiding in plain sight as a teacher who teaches PE and home economics he is a fantastic chef. And this is where he meets Vince Winkle. He really likes what he sees. He has a real soft spot for big chunky man who he can manoeuvre around his way of things. But when he asked him out Vince says no. Mr Jones I’ve never asked anybody out on a date before so I didn’t understand what you did wrong. When he goes to his knitting group( yes knitting) There are police everywhere and he sees two naked bodies at the door. They are people that he knows. Talking to the detective who knows who he is he quickly comes apparent that the link between all 6 murdered victims is him, who is after Mr Jones??
When he goes undercover to a human trafficking auction he is surprised when who should we find in a cage for sale none other than Mr Winkle.
Vince doesn’t understand why Mr Jones asked him out for a date? He don’t understand why a big hunky of a man like Mr Jones would want somebody like him who has struggled with his weight for all his life. When a student from his old school asked him to look into a her scholarship interview Vince find myself drugged and in a cage. Only to find that he is about to be sold to a big hunk of a man.
Thankfully Mr Jones has a mask on so Mr Winkle doesn’t recognise him. He quickly buys him up but knowing that he should kill him but that isn’t what he’s going to do he’s going to keep him at his apartment. As he’s paid slave. What is going to become of this??
And that is all you’re getting out of me because you need to read this book honestly it’s like a rollercoaster that you just never wanna get off of. The chemistry between Mr Jones and Vince is like electricity it’s always there like an undercurrent but Mr Jones has such a kink. I don’t even know how to describe it as a kink, what he needs to get out of another person is Just bizarre but what surprise me even more was how much Vince enjoyed it. I liked Vince there were times I thought he was weak but other times he was sassy and feisty and it just made everything electric he really brought out the best in Mr Jones. You see a different side of him when he’s with Vince. This is an absolutely fantastic read I have no idea if this review makes any sense but once you’ve read this book you will totally understand. The only thing I didn’t like about this book was the ending because I wanted more I didn’t like how it was left and said about the changes that Mr Jones felt. I know it’s good to leave you wanting more but come on that was unfair. Cannot wait for . the next book in the series. Fantastically written

I'm going to be honest. I wanted to love this book a lot more than I did, because I have been intrigued by Mr Jones since book one. And that is possibly one of the reasons I'm only giving it a 3 star review, because my expectations were a bit higher than what was delivered.

Let's start in with the positives, because this book did have a lot of them:

- Mr Jones himself is a positive. I loved him. He was absolutely morally rephrehensible, but I don't mind that in a character. There were some parts about him I wasn't fond of, but he was still a very entertaining character.
- Valentine was the absolute highlight of this book. I seriously hope that he and 3Wishes get some kind of book at some point, even though I doubt it'll be a traditional romance with an HEA, because Val is incredibly effed up in the very best way. He was hilarious and he just stole every scene that he was in.
- The main plot - not something I can really go into without giving a lot of spoilers. But if they'd kept with this as the main plot and not added in a twist and kind of abandoned the first part of the plot, this book would've easily earned a higher rating.

Now the parts I didn't much care for:

- Vince. Holy crap Vince started to get on my nerves after awhile. The refusal to cuss didn't really bother me, but almost every other part of his personality did. I don't mind a naive MC, but he was PAINFULLY naive, even after everything that was happening in the book. Like dude... no.
- Mr Kramer (and all of the Peyton teachers, tbh). I wanted to whack them all over the head with a 2x4.
- The twist ending. It just wasn't a good twist, not like so many of the others in Skylar Sweeney's books. For one, I saw it coming. For two, it didn't tie up the strings from most of the book. There were too many left danging around, creating plot holes. Like is This one just didn't have a good resolution.
- The HEA. It felt way too abrupt. The entire end of this book felt too abrupt. Like there should've been another few chapters or something instead of it hitting a brick wall and ending with The End where it did. It needed some cool down, some time to breathe, and we didn't get that.

Would I recommend this book though? Yes. It's dark and twisted and hilarious. Heed the trigger warnings and don't expect as much steam as you would typically get from a Skylar Sweeney novel, but other than that? Sure. I'd recommend it. It's a fun way to kill a few hours.

** DISCLAIMER: ARC provided by GRR and this is my fair and honest review. **

The narrative is completely twisted, but at the same time interesting for its twisted side of the psychology of the characters.
This is the 4th book in the series here, but it's easy to understand the relationships of the characters to each other.
The story is very twisted from start to finish, but if we assume that it will be the case, we are less surprised or disgusted. And finally, this may be the author's weakness: Many extreme points are discussed, raised, but ultimately few are really made explicit. However, Mr. Jones, the hero is supposed to be an assassin, sadist, facing Vana, a young woman quite innocent (but quite twisted too). As much as her role is clear and how it evolved, but for the character of Jones, I felt like we just weren't getting enough into his head.
However, the fact remains that this story isn't for everyone and is definitely not cute, as there are so many sociopaths and psychopaths. You really shouldn't expect to have "a nice guy" as the title might suggest.
I loved the playlist added at the beginning of the story

Skylar, your writing ROCKS!

From the first book, and Ms. Cho's story (thank you! Loved it!), You have had me in stitches!
Mr. Jones and Vana, (lol are you from SC), were amazing! We really learn who Mr. Jones is in this novel, twisted as all get out, but lovable, and truly darkly humourous! Vans could have been Val's long lost sister, lol, but a little more intelligent with cues! She makes the perfect school counselor!
Two rather intriguing individuals one would never consider being together, are simply perfect!
You had me hooked from the beginning, again, with the very first book, and kept me in stitches to the very end of Mr. Jones and Vana's book! What a series! More, more, more, ... PLEASE!

I absolutely was thrilled reading this, as well as the entire series!

Vince is a counselor who meets Mr. Jones, a coach, at the high school he teaches at. When he is kidnapped, he is sold as a sex slave to a man he is unaware is Mr. Jones who is really a killer and one of the Brothers. You really need to read the previous books to follow along with this one. I have to say, I do not like Mr. Jones, a sadist. He is cruel and humiliates Vince all the time which apparently is Vince's kink, one I'm not in love with. But I like many of the characters from before and even Vince. This book was about a crazy world filled with psychopathic or sociopath people but it proceeds along and all ties together in the end. Not my favorite of the "Brother" books as Mr. Jones is just plain messed up but still fascinating. I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews and this is my voluntary opinion.

ᗪᑎᖴ; ᑕᗩᑎᑎOT ᗪO ᎥT

Okay, so I’m obviously a minority opinion here, but …

I can handle an mc {𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀} who’s a bad guy, a psychopath, dark & deviant … whatevs. Bring it.

What I 𝒄𝒂𝒏'𝒕 handle is an mc {𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲} who is an absolutely judgey a$$hol€, a hysterical whiner, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 a goodie two shoes.

If that wasn’t enough, there’s the ridiculousness of the 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 number of remarks & allusions to his freaking 𝒘𝒆𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 by only 40% into the book {because that’s where I finally refused to continue}. Honestly, it was about 90% overkill.

One of my absolute favorite “tropes” is 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒂𝒎𝒃𝒊𝒈𝒖𝒐𝒖𝒔 but I think this author needs to read up a bit more and do some more research before trying their hand at it again. Book One was “ok” but each successive story in this series has been more and more difficult to get through. Until I just couldn’t.

This was most definitely my favorite in this series so far. I love how completely oblivious Vince is, and how convincingly sweet Coach Jones presents himself to be. It’s a bit baffling how unflappable Vince is throughout this book, and yet, it doesn’t feel unrealistic or forced. It was interesting to see Vince seem perfectly normal at the beginning of the book, but by the end, I believe that he would gladly do anything for, and with, Mr. Jones - if asked.

I had been a little critical of Lotus with his offhand cruelty in the last book, but this one shows that he is just completely unhinged. Though, it also seems that Mr. Jones may not have been so much of a desirable alternative for the Brothers.

I am addicted to these men. I can’t wait to see who is next, and how he might find happiness.

Mr. Jones leads a double life, one on the dark side where he has shall we say special skills and the other as a legitimate teacher, albeit one no one messes with. Young women at his school are abducted and auctioned and the reason involves his shadow life so naturally, he sets out to rescue them and deal with the perpetrator. What he doesn't count on is another teacher, Vince, who has no idea what is really going on but decides to help his students. That leads to Vince being captured and auctioned to "Mr. Nice Guy". Does anyone have to guess more than once to know who this is and that he and Vince will set off sparks with each other neither one of them expected. Loved the characters of Vince and Mr. Jones and the twists and turns of the kidnapping/trafficking plot.

Not what I was expecting at all.
This was the best book I've read in ages. Maybe I'm a bit twisted but I found this laugh out loud, totally hilarious in many places. MNG's mindset is soo off-kilter, he reminds me of a warped version of Dexter. You just don't expect a sadist/torturer/killer to teach Home Economics and have a Craft Room let alone for him to be in a knitting club!
And Vana is soo ditzy she doesn't even freak when kidnapped, sold as a slave and bought by MNG even when she knows what his needs are. She just feels sorry for him after trying to psychoanylize him, and his serial killer 'son'.

The narrative here relies on twists and turns and trying to recap the plot is, I think, doing the experience of it a disservice, so I won’t— instead I’ll say that it definitely is a compelling ride. There’s a fascinating blend of action, suspense, character development, humor, some darkness, and strong chemistry here. The characters are boldly drawn and interesting together, and overall, it fits well into the series. (Side note: this story can stand alone, I think, but if you enjoy it and you haven’t already, definitely check out the other books in the blood brothers series).

Although Mr. Nice Guy, aka Mr. Jones, is quite the nice high school coach by day, he’s also a professional, psychotic killer. At school he meets Vana who is a Bible thumping, Granny loving, full figured lady; and then he kidnaps her. This is the story of a man who thinks he can’t love, and a woman who tries to prove he can. It’s steamy, naughty, bloody and outrageous. If you like steamy, naughty, bloody and outrageous, you’re in for a wild ride!

Im not even sure where to start my review..... there were many twists and turns in this story... to be fair now that I know who the antagonist in Mr Jones life was, I could see how some of those twists were written in.

I adored Vince, he was so real in his dislike of his body, and the idea that it would be a turn off for most men. He was however, a bit stupid.... Mr Jones gave him sooo many clues as to he was, as his captor and his collegue and Mr Rip didnt catch on.

I loved Val in this story. I cant wait for his book..... but do think this story ended a bit sharply

I loved this series, so this book 4 was a must but reading it was a very disturbing experience... The plot agile and twisted trapped me since the beginning in a maelstrom of situations one after another that didn't let me breath or think or doing anything else until finished. An unsettling love story, lived by sadistic and depraved characters that you couldn't but love regardless everything they do simply because the captivating plot didn't let you room for anything else if you want to keep your mental peace. A dark love story, just perfect to be added to this wicked series. WOW!

It really helps to read this series in order. That way you get to understand all the characters. It's important to understand even the secondary characters. They are all brilliantly written. It's a very clever author who can make characters so real they jump of the page. It is even more impressive to me that this author made me empathise with absolutely dangerous men, capable of most violent crimes. Be on their side. I absolutely loved Mr Jones and Vince's story. This book is dark and absolutely hysterically funny. I truly laughed throughout. Mr. Jones is such a diverse character, taking charge of Valentine and torturing people. He meets his match with innocent Vana. I think Val is my favorite character. He tries to learn, thanks to Mr. Jones. I now want to read a lot more by this author and started recommending this book to my book groups when I was only a third of the way through, it is that good.

Vince and Mr. Jones story was interesting, with lots of dark humour and a sweet side that is masked and only seen at close inspection.
I really was looking forward to see what kind of guy will make Mr. Jones find happiness with and Vince really is the perfect combination for him.
It has some twisted sense of love, appreciation and relationship that they both enjoy while being comforted with danger.
It had some interesting and unique situations and I'm looking forward to see what happens next.

He has two jobs which he keeps apart, he is a teacher but also he is the one others use when they do not want to get their hands dirty. He finds young women are being taken and put on sale for men to bid on. Soon he has a young man on his hands, now he needs to be careful they do not learn who he really is. How will it all go? Will they find out who he really is? See just where this tale will take you

The plot in this book is not easily described, there are twists and turns around every corner. The story is fast paced and the plot is exciting and the characters are so well described. I loved the relationship between Mr. Jones and Vince, it’s both steamy, kinky and sweet.
I really love this series and I think you should read them in order to get a feel of the characters and the story arc. Definitely recommend.
