After bringing the war with the mages to an end, the members of Band 13 were looking forward to starting the new year fresh and continuing their training in relative peace.

Great follow up to the first book. I enjoyed getting to know more about the people Abbie aka Alice found in Band 13. I wish there was more on Alice's past with her family though... 'cause I think that's a doozy of a story all on it's own.
I'm eager to see what Branch is building up to for the next book 'cause this book seems to have prepare a lot of the puzzle pieces small sections without completely showing the final picture. I only hope a lot of my questions will be answered in the next book - which I hope doesn't take as long to come out as this one did, but I'll try to be patient.
