One of my favorite things to come out of the pandemic (because yes, there are some, believe it or not :D) is my nearly fanatical observance of Taco Tuesday. Oh, I'd get tacos on the regular before March 2020, but since then, I've had much greater ability to hit my favorite local taco joint and partake with loved ones!
So Adriana Martin's latest release _Taco Obsession_ has fit right in with that observance, and is a welcome addition--both to my celebration and to taco cookbook land. I learned so much about taco history and types (and who knew it could be as fascinating as it is?! Today I learned!), regional varieties, and all the inspo I could ever need to give my favorite day of the week a fresh spin as desired.
I especially appreciated the inclusion of nonalcoholic beverage options, having gone alcohol free back in 2019, and can't wait to try, well, all of them! It's been great to see mocktail popularity on the rise both in this book and elsewhere in the food world. And, the definitions of so many taco-related terms were appreciated; I've seen them referenced, of course, but wasn't always or easily able to figure out what they meant exactly. This is an invaluable reference book in addition to one that inevitably will make me hungry (and, of course, inspire me to sate the hunger). :)
The recipes included go far beyond your run-of-the-mill tacos and exemplify the endless creativity not only of the author, but of tacos themselves. My favorite to date of Martin's cookbooks!
I received a copy of the book from the author. All opinions are my own.
There are a plethora of taco recipes in this cookbook! Whether you are looking to try new recipes, or just want to expand your taco repertoire, this one is for you! I found a ton of recipes to try out on my family.
I loved, loved, loved this book. It wasn't like any cookbook I've read before. This is real Mexican cooking, spices, etc. I really don't do spicy but I can't wait to try some of these recipes in addition to trying some things I want to test.
