Nantucket: The True North of My Heart

Rate this book
I have always loved islands. I find myself longing to visit them, whether it be the Emerald Isle of Ireland, the United Kingdom, or Nantucket.
I think it is in my blood; my maternal grandfather’s name in Italian means “of the sea.”

This book is part memoir, part travelogue, and part magic. Memoir for the beautiful memories uniquely created by travel. Travelogue for the advice and tips I give for those inspired to venture thirty miles off the coast of Massachusetts. Magic for the mystical encounters I shared with seals--beings that possess intelligence and souls, with the ability to communicate with the strange creatures they see who walk upon the sand.

Come take this island journey with me. Surround yourself with the sea and all her magic. ~Shirl

I want to go to Nantucket. Shirl Knobloch has written a moving and heartwarming account of her love of Nantucket. I have never been there and now I so very much want to visit. I want to walk along the beach to the lighthouse and become one with the seals on the far side. I want to see the quaint streets and enjoy the area. Such a touching account of her visit to Nantucket.
