Wolf Bound

The ultimate sacrifice, a love that lasts forever…

Trickster Were, Adam McVale is almost killed in his attempt to stop the evil warlock Cain from murdering his Pack – emphasis on the ‘almost’. He is transformed into a Shade, a creature caught between life and death. A horrible turn of events, sure, but at least he now gets to haunt the irresistible and ever prickly medium, Shelley Conners, who has made her dislike of him undeniably clear; pretty funny given he and his wolf are certain she is their mate.

Shelley hates and fears the inherited powers that connect her to the spirit world and the insanity they inevitable bring. But it seems she is the key to reuniting Adam’s body with his Shade and save him from certain death. Given she can hardly let the annoying Were die, she agrees to help, even though it will speed up her descent into madness.

But there is an even darker evil within her – the Darkness that has been hunting the Packs and Covens for centuries. Can she save Adam and stave off the Darkness before it uses her to destroy the world?

Release Week Review! Wolf Bound (Pack Bound #4) Leisl Leighton!

The ultimate sacrifice, a love that lasts forever…

Five hundred years ago, facing extinction, a group of powerful witches united to create a pact with the Were to save witch–kind. The pact expelled an ancient evil, known only as the Darkness, that was blocking the Were from their wolves. With the Darkness destroyed, the Packs and their Covens grew strong as they thrived beside each other in their brand–new world.

But the Darkness was not destroyed.

Shelley Conners has good reason to hate and fear the powers that connect her to the spirit world and the insanity they foretell. But with the Pack's Trickster, Adam McVale, transformed into a Shade, a creature caught between life and death, Shelley holds the only key to saving him. Opening herself up to the world of the dead will only speed up her descent into madness, but Shelley never expects an even darker evil within – the Darkness, waiting patiently for her and the opportunity to destroy the world.

The conclusion to the Pack Bound series is a thrilling read that kept me on pins and needles throughout the book.

All the characters in this four book series are strong, compelling and easily draw readers in their story but I have to say that Shelley and Adam captured my attention from the beginning and Wolf Bound which finally tells their story certainly brings them to full and vivid life. They both have issues that readers can relate to and while they seem to be the most vulnerable, they both have very strong wills and strength of character that keeps readers completely enthralled. Their romance is sweet but so full of obstacles and hardships that the happily ever after outcome that readers are hoping for is held in suspense throughout the book.

Thrills and chills keep the readers on the edge of their seat with anticipation and wonder as the evil that threatens the weres and the witches grows and its plans solidifies into one that if successful will plunge the world into darkness and chaos. There is never a dull moment to be found in this medium to fast paced plot that has lots of suspense building events with all the characters working hard to find a way to stop the evil, but Shelley and Adam’s part in this battle has readers biting their nails during the entire story.

I was looking forward to this book as I have read the previous books and of course was impatiently awaiting the conclusion and I have to say that not only was Shelley and Adam’s story well worth the wait, but the author did a great job of answering all questions regarding the battle they are facing but the final outcome was one that is spectacular, exciting and very fitting for this series and there was no way that I could put this story down until I had read every last word.

This is book 4, the final story for the Pack Bound series. With the curse gaining momentum the witches and werewolves work together to fight the darkness. This is Shelley and Adam's story and it's a satisfying conclusion to the series. Can be read as a stand alone because the review of previous books is pretty comprehensive. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Not even skiing down the beautiful snow-filled valley allows Skye Collins to be free. She’s always ‘running’ from something, but it’s impossible to escape the powerful and evil magic that dwells inside her. She’s a danger to everyone, especially those she loves – almost killing her twin brother when they were children is testament to that. Fortunately, her grandparents weaved a protection spell to warn Skye in times of trouble, their whispered words combining with a powerful headache whenever her magic stirs. So, when Jason McVale crashes into her on the slopes and offers his hand to help her, those voices scream at her not to touch him. With no warning headache to stop her, instead of obeying, she does the opposite, and an explosion of desire and the elusive thought she knows this man, this stranger, envelopes her.

Alpha wolf, Jason McVale has been searching for his pack witch, who was stolen from the pack as a young child. He’s certain Skye is that witch, but he had no idea she’d mean so much more. What happened to her the night she was stolen? What did her captors do to ensure not only won’t she use her magic, she doesn’t seem to recognise him either? If anything, she seems to fear him, especially when he shows her his wolf form. And why is she denying him the possibilities of a relationship and the magic he needs to help the pack because where they’re concerned, he’ll do anything it takes to ensure they’re safe.

But now there’s so much more at stake, for there are those who would do anything to possess Skye’s magic and turn it against not only his kind, but hers as well. Skye and Jason need to trust each other and their magical bond if they’re going to get through the horrors to come.

Magic, witches, werewolves, oh my! I’m in paranormal heaven. The magic of Ms Leighton’s writing is seamlessly woven through this story. Believable characters, high stakes, suspenseful moments, great action, and the kind of sensual scenes that will have you waving both hands on front of your face in some vain attempt to help you cool down. :)

I also loved how well the secondary characters worked in this story, and it’s these characters whose adventures we follow in the series, each playing their part to restore the balance of magic ‘The Darkness’ threatens to destroy.

Adam is a wolf shifter who is also the Trickster. All his life, he thought of himself as a jokester and not very helpful to his pack. Now he has learned more about being the Trickster. His special gift of empathy helped his pack stay sane during their time under the curse. He and his wolf are drawn towards Shelley, a banshee/medium. He would like to get closer but during an attack, he gets hit in the chest by warlock lightning. Most everyone thought he was dead including himself since he found himself floating away from his body. Then people figure out he is barely alive and his body is unresponsive. Now he is struggling to reunite with his body but there is something keeping him out. Shelley can see him but is ignoring him. Can he find his way back to Shelley.

Shelley hates her powers as a banshee and a medium. Her family taught her that her gift would drive her crazy. She has been doing her best to shield herself from the spirits around her and keep her banshee buried. She feels like it is just a matter of time before she loses her sanity. She has buried her feelings for Adam because she has learned that his empathy would force him use his powers to keep her sane. She refuses to mate him for his own good in her mind. The problem is to defeat the darkness, Adam and Shelley need a strong bond if they are to be successful. Otherwise their world would be overtaken by the darkness.

This book is mostly dedicated to the story of Shelley and Liam as well as their determination to overcome any and all obstacles that stand on the way of their happiness and love. The roles that they are called to play in this, the ultimate battle between light and darkness as Banshee and Trickster are capital.
As it is with every book of this series the author has masterfully crafted a captivating action filled story that ranks highest with all the very best series endings books that I have had the pleasure to read to this day.
Everything is there. Love, hate, treachery, Loss, Family, Friends, Body and Soul astral separation, Battles, and The Will to overcome any and all barriers created by the author's imagination to achieve the one and only goal: Total and Complete Victory over evil.
The reader is drawn by the plot in this page turner to see what will happen as well as who will come out victorious with all the twists and turns that create this fantastic tale. I highly recommend this book and would rate it more than the maximum allowed. 5 stars.

Wolf Bound is the final book, and conclusion to the Pack Bound series by Leisl Leighton. As finales go, this was definitely a thrilling, action-packed and edge of your seat read, that I’m sure will be well received by those who have followed this series from it’s conception. Fabulous characters play vital roles and draw readers in with their strong and compelling natures.

With a war waging, the suspense is ever present and the anticipation of the final outcome keeps you riveted to the very last page. I’m positive readers will be totally enthralled by this final chapter in the ongoing battle between good and evil and the underlying hope for peace and a better future. An exciting climax with the right amount of danger, chaos, and romance; that’s what you get with this captivating story.

Shelly and Adam have a lot going against them. Shelly scared of her gifts and she sets up shields to protect her from the spirits who bombard her. Adam who loves her but knows her fears and how it effects her magic. He is also stubborn, but seriously in love with her. The ending of this series is bitter sweet. Everything fits together and the darkness is at its fullest and has plans that he set in motion decades before. Cain has his time in front and center. Morghanna has everything figured out..so it seems and epiphanies galore! Not a bad read at all. Enjoyed it and the author keeps you going. It doesn't stagnate and slow. It was great!!!

This is the story of Shelley and Adam and is the final book in this particular story. There were many twists and turns as they dealt with the repercussions from the end of the previous book and try to stop the Darkness once and for all. This book had it all. I didn't think the first book could be bettered but I have been surprised with each book how good they are and this one was the best with everyone coming together, with unexpected surprises. I look forward to reading future books by Leisl Leighton, especially if they are as good as this one.

The final fight against darkness is here and boy is it awesome! The witches and wolves are working together in this exciting and captivating conclusion. With twists and turns a plenty this action packed story had me on the edge of my seat as we finally see Shelley and Adam come together but boy did they take their time. It all comes together finally in a fantastic ending and is a series I would recommend.

Shelley and Adam . . .

Shelley and Adam’s story was a great way to lead the reader to answers for many questions and tie the series up in an awesome way. Will Shelley face her fears and discomfort with the spirit world to save Adam and reunite his body and Shade? Will he, in turn, be able to keep the Darkness from using or destroying Shelley? And if they do survive, will she accept him as her mate?

It took awhile to get here, but finally with Shelly and Adam's story is the exciting conclusion to this series. There are a few twists to the plot that keep you guessing as to what is going to happen next, all the way to the action packed exciting ending! Not everyone gets an HEA, but it is definitely a great read!.

This is the conclusion to the story arc following strong female witches and their Were mates in the fight against evil. The final couple to accept the bond has been an obvious pair since book 1.  This book finally brings them together kicking and screaming.  I highly recommend you start with the beginning and go through in order.

A stunning conclusion.

Wolf Bound was such a well crafted story and I wish it never ended. The characters were complex and rich with strong back stories, adding to the tension in the book. And I loved the location! I loved how the author kept the plot in sight and didn't waver from it too. I look forward to hunting down any book written by Leisel Leighton.

Wolf Bound
This was the last book in the pack bound series.
I thought the book had good pace at the start but slowed down in the middle due to the fact is was my 1st book of the series and I took a bit of catching up with characters and story lines.
I felt it was a good exciting finale and the final chapters will keep you enthralled. I would recommend reading the books in order to have the best reading experience.
I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
