The rebellion is no longer a secret. Lord Sterling's reign continues throughout the north. He controls the Army, the King's Guard, and Dathien, the giant wizard commissioned to hunt and kill Simon. Sterling has ignored Simon's brother, King Lucien. But Lucien is no longer the frightened little boy that Sterling has dominated since the day the three-year-old became king. More devastating to Simon than these threats, is his fear for Queen Jaclyn. He has loved her since their unlikely meeting over five years ago. But now, Jaclyn awaits trial for treason as she comes closer to delivering what Sterling is waiting for—Lucien's child. The next king. Simon is struggling with changes inside of him. He is still growing. And becoming more vicious. More savage. More...inhuman. For years, Simon has dreamed of breaking the curse that imprisons him inside the dragon's body. He dreams of rescuing the queen and carrying her far away where the troubles of the world can never find them. But it is too late. The future of the kingdom will depend on him. As the sorceress Magdalena foretold, the time has come for Simon to ignore his heart and give in to the beast.
Book 3 follows through on character and plot nicely. Needs some editing including correction of chapter 52 which is currently between ch 59 and 60. The characters are each developed and real, good and bad. Looking forward to the final book and battle.
If anyone loves a good read, this series is for you. It is well written with humor, romance, suspense , great characters and excellent story line. I recommend it to everyone from adolescents to old coots like me. I will add this author to my favorites.
The third in the series through many twists and turns kept me grounded and involved with the story line. Ready for the final installment in this series. 😁
