As a child I did not read unless Pokémon cards count. It wasn’t until middle school when my mother played a trick on me, she got me entranced in the Harry Potter books. She would read the first few to me before switching to reading me a chapter and leaving the book out for me to read if I wanted more. Thus started my love of reading, at least in part. I still didn’t go out of my way to find books to read and after high school I could count on one hand how many books I would read each year. Life continued like this for over five years before I was hooked on an anime and searched out its light novel. This led to the phase where I was reading at least a couple books a month to now where I have gone through over 300 books in the last year.
Now I am putting my own work in to the world while following my own mantra. To write for yourself or you will never love what you write. When I first started to put my ideas into words I was surprised to find that those I shared it with loved it. This led me on to the road of putting out my own book for the world to see. Thank you to everyone who has or will help and support me in making this dream a reality.
If you are reading the ninth book then you are a fan of these type of books a slice of life a zero to hero story and yes it does have a harem not that the protagonist xeal wanted one it just developed organically, there are no naughty scenes as the author lets you use your imagination so good to find this author as if only found a few that can combine a good story with all these extras . I do like a sexy scene now and again and i tend to bypass lots of books with girls being suggestive on the covers as the story in those books tends to be generic, this series is a breath of fresh air and as a bonus he has a new book come out every month no waiting for ages for the bext installment.
One aspect of this story that I enjoy way more than I thought I would is that Alex knows what happened in an alternate timeline. The author has leveraged this to be able to show his thought process and all the possible ways things could go wrong without locking us into a depressing storyline. It also makes the surprises that the author manages to sneak in have more impact for me. I really enjoy this story and look forward to seeing how it continues.
Loved it. The writing is great and is a style that really keeps me enjoying everything from this author. The continued growth of all the characters and the glimpses we see of the overall world and different players in it is great. Must read and can’t wait till the next book.
I love this series and if you are looking at this book you at least like it, maybe. This is another fantastic entry in the series with more of the same great parts. World building, character development, and progress over all were again great for this installment. Cannot recommend this series enough.
This book was very good and focused a little bit more on the outside world which I thought was a great touch and sets up the future of the series well! Can’t wait for more!
Two reviews. In ED things are progressing nicely, Xeal is continuing with Victors quests and the search for the Phoenix is ongoing , Xeal also gets involved in training a few lesser sons from various houses as potential vassels in the future. In Colorado the move has been made , it's so dull and boring and as for the description of their home , it sound awful but taste is personal , the only good part was Kate Astor who shows great potential to be a smart partner for Alex.
Fun and lively, full of everything that kept us all reading every book in the series prior, while continuing to mature the lore and plot... excellent world building!! Keep up the great work!
This series has devolved from a promising start as a litrpg to what can only be described as a harem / dating sim that is pretty much just a series of descriptions of dates that the main character goes on with random girls that he for various reasons is ”forced” to start dating. The book is full of half-hearted justifications for why the main character is so great that no female can justifiably resist his charms despite him doing his best to persuade them otherwise… the sheer hypocrisy has made it pretty much impoossible to finish, and I can only regret the time I spent reading these books hoping that they would get back on track. You could probably ask chatgpt to substitute the recipes in a cookbook with girls names and various elements of generic dates and end up with a more enjoyable read than books 2 through 9 in this series. What makes me so irate is that not only did I just waste a number of hours reading the books, but I have also wasted a further 20 minutes writing a ranting review about the ninth book in the series - because what kind of half-wit continues reading to book nine in a series wher the first book was ok but with a promising premise, and the rest were an absolute waste of time? Most likely the answer will be one person; me!
I had have been waiting for this part of the story for a while. I'm glad Bern Dean took the time to talk about the move and how much time was spend explaining there new situation. I was suprised that some had complained but I'd much rather ready about his new house then another new harem member.
I still don't like all the fantastical womanly issues that have been created for Alex/Xeal. I feel it takes away from what this story could really be. There is so much good stuff in these books and I'm disappointed that so much time is wasted on to many women for not much gain. He's constantly on dates. He's supposed to be playing a game. It doesn't feel like a game. Everytime he talks to another female NPC I kind of want to gag because of how they behave toward him. I can't seem to give these books a better score because of it.
It’s a good series, but honestly I wish more would happen outside of relationship bs. The previous books felt like an even mix of relationship stuff, political stuff and gaming stuff. Now this book it’s like 85% relationship drama 10% political drama and 5% gameplay with only .5% of that being any kind of fighting or progression. I had a hard time finishing this book.
Alex/Xeal his life as he tries to control for the most part to improve it for the better .
Alex continues to look for the Phoenix's that he promised the very first one . All but two have been found . Setting on completing the quest of promise . Plus furthering the coalition of securing up the borders of first continent he gamed on ED . With expanding his levels with different skills going even higher between smithing and adventuring and guild leader . Improving his life as he was given a second chance . recommend reading excellent series .
This story of a guy who gets a do over was a very interesting entertaining fast paced action packed series that I really enjoyed reading. The harem aspect is fade to black as I think of it more how any eighteen year old multi billionaire would be chased by lots of women.
Alex/ Xeal is making to most of his world and in the process collecting women. Strong, smart, handsome, loyal, trustworthy & more are his personality traits. Ya, he's f**ked at trying to fight them off.
Another good book in this series! Looking forward to seeing how the Elves react to Zeal. Sigh. Before long he will have to add not only floor three but also floor four to the mansion! Lol.
The title of this book is well chosen. In this book we as the readers and the main character Alex accept this is a harem novel series, and the female cast will only increase
