I like Kaci Rose's books and this one really stole my interest. Well written.
Summers roommate, Skye, takes her to Club Red, a sex club in a building like an old warehouse. Summer goes to the bar, sitting on a bar stool when her best friends dad, Knox speaks to her. Summer has had a crush on Knox for as long as she can remember. Gemma is her best friend.
Knox can't believe Summer is here. He has had un-appropriate thoughts about her and had not been able to be with another woman since she turned 18. He had her watching other couples doing their sex acts.
The spend a night at the club. He invites her to come to his house the next day and enjoy the pool with him. Gemma had gone with her boyfriend to meet his parents for the weekend. Summer spends the night with Knox.
Knox wakes up to the smell of coffee and bacon, but Summer is still asleep. He finds Gemma and her boyfriend in the kitchen. Gemma was wanting to surprise Knox with her diamond ring. Of course dad is not happy. Knox tells Gemma he has news which makes Gemma very happy until Summer walks into the kitchen wearing nothing but Knox's shirt. Gemma is angry. Knox tells Gemma and her boyfriend to get out of his house. Summer packs her stuff, gets dressed and leaves.
Will Gemma accept her dad and Summer being together? Will Knox and Summer make a go of their affair? Will Gemma and Summer remain friends?
I really liked this book even though their is a lot of sex, but well written.

Since this is a novella, she was all sunshine in the next page or so and completely okay with her dad dating her best friend, inviting her in the family completely.

Wow this book had a lot of steam and kinky bits through this novella.. I have to say it was a really good book and awesome characters.. I can't wait to read this author's new series that is coming out soon that is set around Club Red..

I enjoyed the relationship between Knox and Summer because it was sweet and they are made for each other.. I am glad that everything worked out and they got a happy ending

Never loved a good dare quite so much
This book is about Summer and Knox. Her room mate and friend Skye drags her to Club Red – a $3x club. After a bit of a tour, her friend leaves her to explore on her own, and that’s when her best friend Gemma’s dad Knox recognises her. She has mixed feelings about seeing him there, as she’s been infatuated with him since her teens. He too has been enamoured by her for years as well. Of course neither of them know about these secret and hidden feelings.
Knox has found it impossible to connect with any other woman because of those feelings, and is emboldened when he dares her to forget the walls between them and let him help her experience the club for one night. That’s her kryptonite, as he knows she’d never turn down a dare! But it’s a truly sensual and hot experience for her, and he enjoyed being the one to give it to her. He’d never craved it like he did with her.
When Gemma comes home unexpectedly early, Knox and Summer are in for a few surprises – and they’re not good! Summer is understandably upset and bolts from the emotional situation. It may take her best friend’s forgiveness to smooth things over with everyone she truly cares about.
This was a sweet, steamy, passionate and enticing read. And both epilogues gave me all sorts of ideas! Might have to go and investigate Skye’s and Gemma’s stories now too. I give this book four and a half red stars.

Daddy's Dare, Book 10 of the Filthy Dirty Summers series (and Book 1 of the Club Red Shorts) was about Knox and his daughter's best friend, Summer.
Summer realized her feelings were more than a crush on her BFF's father while attending the other girl's 16th birthday party. What she didn't know was that he felt the same way. Neither one let the other know...until after Summer had graduated college and her roommate took her to the Club Red to celebrate the end of a project she had been working on. While there, Knox met her, and from that point on things heated up PDQ.
This was a pretty fast-paced story with very little angst, drama, or conflict. Once again, it was another straightforward story that was a bit bland with no surprises. The spice level was around three hot peppers, but nothing to write home about.
The characters were well-developed and mature, all of them being mild-mannered and strong at the same time.
Once again, the story felt rushed and incomplete, with hardly any background info on the characters. It was also another story where the author dropped the reader into an already well-established plotline, giving the reader the feeling of entering a theater halfway through a movie and having missed the importance of the story. This dropped the rating to a three-star rating once again.

Summer is Knox’s daughters, Gemma, best friend. They’ve knew each other a while. She fell in love with him at Gemma’s sixteen birthday party. Knox finds Summer at Club Red, a BDSM sex club for members only. Summer’s roommate, Skye, takes her to let loose after a large project is finished at work. Summer sitting at the bar, where he finds her. He pleasure her then dare her to come again the next night. She does, he’s rented a room for them. Knox tell her to come to his house the next day Gemma’s not home. She does, they talk about what it would mean for them to be together. Knox what’s to tell Gemma as soon as she gets home. They wake up to the smells of bacon and pancakes the next morning. Gemma has some news she wants to tell her dad. He’s a little disappointed, then Summer comes in and he tells her about them. Gemma storms off and Summer runs to the bedroom to gather her things. He tells Gemma she needs to leave and he’ll talk to her later. Knox finds Summer packing her things and tell her what he did. She tells him she needs time and leaves. Later Gemma finds Summer and apologizes. They get together to talk about what happened and Knox proposes Summer says yes.

Wonderful story. Summer goes to the Club with her roommate as a way to unwind but, she is so far out of her comfort zone it’s not funny. While having a drink and looking around she is approached by the last person she expected to see there. He best friend’s dad, a man who she has wanted to the point that she has stayed away from him. Knox is shocked to see Summer at the Club but, isn’t about to let this chance pass them by. After spending time together they make plans to come back the next night. Knox has to find a way to tell his daughter, Gemma, because there’s no way he can give up Summer. But all his intentions go out the window when she comes home early from her trip. He starts to tell her his met someone and she’s excited and happy for him until Summer walks in the room. In one of his shirts no less. Gemma is furious with both of them and yells at them. Knox sets his daughter straight and kicks her out of HIS house. Upset Summer leaves. Now he has two relationships to fix but as far as he’s concerned only one counts and is important.

It’s doesn’t get any filthier than this best friend’s father age gap romance with BDSM and some of the hottest steam you are going to read today! The steam gets going from the very beginning and doesn’t let up! There’s plenty of story to go along with the heat so this book is the complete package.

The last thing Summer expected when she went with a friends to BDSM club was her best friend’s father, Knox. The chemistry between these two has been building for years and reaches its tipping point when they see each other. I would have loved scenes of these two together before the club, but as the story goes on you find out why there isn’t any. There is memories and talks of the years before so that brought everything together nicely for me. Knox uses Summer’s love of dares to break the ice and initiate their time together. It’s everything either of them could have hoped for and more. There will be drama when her best friend finds out and this was addressed wonderfully. I really liked her friend Gemma and can’t wait for her own story to come out.

Gostei bastante deste livro e por isso dei-lhe 4 estrelas. A química entre Knox e Summer é inegável e, desde as primeiras páginas, senti aquela tensão que me deixou presa à leitura. Foi daqueles livros que se lê de uma vez só, porque a escrita é rápida e direta, sem enrolar.

O que mais gostei foi exatamente essa intensidade entre os protagonistas — os encontros, a luta interna de Knox e a ousadia de Summer. Apesar de ser uma história curta, conseguiu transmitir bem a mistura de desejo e proibição que dá o tom da narrativa.

Não dei 5 estrelas apenas porque senti que poderia ter ido um pouco mais fundo nas emoções e nos dilemas dos personagens. A trama é previsível em alguns momentos e, por ser curta, deixou-me com vontade de explorar mais da relação e do desenvolvimento deles.

Ainda assim, foi uma leitura muito divertida e envolvente. Se o objetivo era um romance rápido, picante e intenso, cumpriu perfeitamente. Recomendo a quem gosta de uma história curta mas cheia de química.

This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Summer doesn't venture out much, so her friend Skye decides to take her to Club Red. While there she sees Knox, her best friend's dad who she has had a crush on for years. He dares her to let him touch her, which turns into another dare, and another, then forever. They have to iron out a few bumps in the road, but there is no denying that Summer and Knox love each other.

This novella wasn't too heavy on the control, which I liked. Knox was a very strong character, who knew what he wanted and wasn't going to let anyone stand in his way. He was possessive, caring, dominant, and intensely loving. He was my favorite character.

Summer knew what she wanted. She had some nerves, but Knox loved her, cared for her and made sure she was safe. She was the softness to his control.

This was a great short, steamy romance.

However, everything changed when the opportunity to explore their desires dropped in their lap and it was in a safe environment. They soon acknowledged their feelings, but their happiness was nearly derailed after Gemma’s discovery and it would take open honest communication to get them back on their path towards a fulfilling forever.

This may be a short story, but there is a lot going in the book to keep you engrossed and entertained. This was a truly exciting and pleasurable read, that I highly recommend.

A short sweet to the point spicy read with no cheating and a HEA. The trope is older man younger paramour forbidden romance. The taboo factor was played up at the place where the two attracted lovers first acknowledged their interest to each other. The challenge wasn’t connecting but staying together at cost to a mutual vital person in their village. This book reads like a spicy chicken sandwich from Popeyes, hawt and filling. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now back to The Cowboy and His Angel with Pastor Greg and ‘nem. Passas need love too! Pastor Greg said, “I am a man.” Happy reading my little Rosettes!.

Solid storytelling, likable characters and hot smut.

Two things bothered me:
1) the daddy kink thing: given that the female lead has listened to his actual daughter call him that since she and her were kids gave it a serious layer of ick; given the circumstances, the male lead should have talked to her about it beforehand instead of commanding it in the middle of play
2) how immature the male lead's actual daughter was (thinking her fiancee should have talked to her daddy before asking her to marry him like she's his dependent instead of a adult; and agreeing to the marriage because she swept up in the romance of the proposal) because it made me wonder about the female lead's maturity since they were best friends

Daddy’s Dare by Kaci Rose is the first book in the series, Club Red shorts. This Best Friend’s Father, aged gaped romance is well written. The main characters, Summer and Knox, have known each other for years from Summer being best friends with Knox daughter. They each develop feelings for one another but don’t act upon those until Summer is older. Their meeting at Club Red is spicy. The author does a good job of weaving each aspect of this short story between Summer and Knox and their relationship with Summer’s best friend (Knox’s daughter). It is engaging and draws the reader in to see what will happen next. This steamy, romantic story has wonderful characters and makes a great start to the Club Red Shorts series.

When they run into each other at a BDSM club the fire finally ignites. But what will her best friend who is also his daughter think? This story is so hot. The chemistry between the characters is undeniable. It has a great storyline that is easy to follow. It’s a quick read. It wasn’t overly BDSM but just enough. This was a fabulous quick read! I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Summer is Gemma’s best friend. Knox is Gemma’s father. Summer has a crush on Knox and Knox has feelings for Summer that he feels are inappropriate. He’s able to make himself feel better about by reminding himself that she’s now over 18 years old.
After meeting at a special club, Summer and Knox begin an affair. Both do not want Gemma to find out because they are unsure how she will react. Well, that fear is warranted!
This author is one of my favorites and I loved this book. This book had me at page 1, it got interesting real quick!.

This came up as recommended when looking for books on KU and the premise sounded like it would be a silly goofy time. I mean best friends dad she accidentally runs into at a sex club that she’s always had crush on should be fun. It unfortunately did not live up to that. My first ick came when he called her little girl. I am fine with using daddy in like a your in charge dominance kind of way. I’m not ok with the daddy / little girl thing personally. And him knowing her when she was younger and still calling her that made it worse. Big yuck. Also some of the way the sex scenes were written were very corny.

Summer is brought to a club by a friend to help her relax, but what she doesn't expect is to see her other friend's father there. Summer has crushed on Knox for so long and she knows it's ridiculous but once he sets eyes on her things really get interesting. Knox knows he shouldn't cross this line, but there is something about Summer that draws him in. this short story is very sexy, age gap, and a whole lot of fun to read.
