They said it would be impossible to organize. Thankfully founders Henry Gold and Michael De Jong did not listen and the greatest bike race and expedition on the planet was born. Started in 2003 it was meant to a be a one time event to raise awareness about sustainable transportation. But the inaugural tour had such an impact on the organizers and participants that they decided it must be run again. It has run every year since and is still changing lives today. This beautiful coffee table book celebrates the 10th year of the epic bike tour with images, stories and quotes from its participants. The book is divided into 10 chapters, each dealing with an emotion or feeling experienced on Discovery, Humanity, Challenge, Hunger, Conflict, Pain, Wonder, Humility, and Bliss. It is about more than just a bicycle tour, the book demonstrates what it means to go on a journey of this magnitude and the profound impact it can have on your life.
