This is my first Emma Slate book. I chose to read Book 3 first because I've been on a big pregnancy/family trope binge lately. I thought Madness & Mayhem would be right up my alley. Plus MC romances are a guilty pleasure.
But for me this book had so much potential but I felt disconnected from it. Slash and Brooklyn, they were good together but I felt like their relationship just lacked something for me. I kept wanting them to have a serious talk. About the baby. About their pasts. About their future. About their feelings. Their relationship was so rushed and yet, it kept stalling too. So much would sidetrack them. I also felt like their relationship didn't get much focus in the book. Their scenes were written very repeatedly. They would have a little talk, sex, then it was over and repeat. Just when you think they're are going to get shit out in the open, the scene would be over. It always felt like their moments ended abruptly in the middle of a talk. It was weird. I didn't find their chemistry all that satisfying as a reader.
Brooklyn knows that Slash uses sex as a tool to distract her sometimes or to get his way... she mentions it several times but does she keep having sex with him when she is trying to have a deeper connection... YES SHE DOES! Ugh.
I have two best friends that I've known for over 20 years, but what is it with having to tell your best friend everything fucking thing? I mean Jazz could read Brooklyn so much she was finishing her sentences constantly. Why does everyone have to be in everyone's business in books?
Slash was in it but he was also away a lot so I think the reason why I noticed their scenes weren't so long together is because Brooklyn has SO MANY scenes with other people that went on and on. That time with Jazz, Brielle and the Old Ladies... it cut into the romance for me. I felt Brooklyn spent more time with Duke than Slash.
We don't find about Slash's history until 90% into the book which was way too late in my opinion. It felt like drama just tacked on for a conflict crescendo. He's a widower who lost his wife and child in a car accident. Of course it comes out in the worst possible way. I really dislike when a man/or woman has lost a spouse and their new partner gets all competitive over their love. Brooklyn immediately thinks Slash can't possibly love her more than his wife, that their child is a replacement child for the one he lost. That he lied to her even though Brooklyn knew his past was a sad one from his tattoos, from the way he struggled to talk about what they mean. From his cryptic mentions of grief. I mean she had to have known he lost someone of importance in his life. Do I think he should have told her? Yes, absolutely. But I understood why he didn't. Because of exactly the way she reacted. Sometimes the loss of a loved one is just too painful to form words & talk about.
The main reason I gave this book 2 stars was because, my least favourite part was that Brooklyn is supposed to be pregnant. I mean she is. But the pregnancy is barely a part of the story. She goes to the doctor twice. Once when she has a UTI and Doc Linden says they have to check for pregnancy. Another there is a short scene when they have the first ultrasound. That's it. I get really frustrated with books that promote they are a pregnancy book but barely acknowledge the pregnancy in the story. Brooklyn doesn't even start to show until the epilogue. We don't get a birth scene or any with their child. We know it's a girl but that it's. No name. No reading about her coming into the world. No Papa biker cuddles. Nada. That was so disappointing to me. I don't even know why the pregnancy was written into the story. I don't think it was necessary. It didn't really add anything. We didn't get them really bonding over the baby. No feelings kicks together. No talking about names. No planning the nursery. I would have loved to see them really be excited for the baby or freaking out over being parents. Just something!!!!
It didn't really feel like a biker book either. The MC side isn't very involved with Slash/Brooklyn life. Most of the conflict in the book comes from Brooklyn's business than anything to do with the club.
The sex scenes were ok, there are a lot of them and I did appreciate they aren't very long. A bit boring after a while though. I didn't find their sex life all that exciting or hot.
I did really like Brooklyn's ambition and drive. She never gives up when the going gets tough. In her business and personal life. But it did annoy me that she couldn't hold onto an opinion or she overthought everything. Brookyln was easily swayed by others.
I did like how devoted Slash was to Brooklyn. Their relationship did feel like a grown up one. I wish we could have gotten to know him better. I think the book should have been dual POV.
Even though I wish I could have liked this story more... I did think Emma Slate is a talented writer. There was a flow to the book that was uniquely her own.
I am curious about Linden and Boxer's story so I might go back and check out Book 2.
And I can't wait to find out who Willa ends up with. I'm kinda hoping for a throuple of her, Duke and Savage.

Trigger Warnings: alzheimers, grief, death, drunk driving, assault, brief violence.
So we get---
A heroine who's a baker, tied between affording her bakery and living a life. When she has a one night stand with a biker, things get complicated. In the name of two + lines.
A hero who's been a drifter most of his life, loosely attached to the MC club he comes from. When he finds out said FMC has a kid..could be his..well he jumps at the chance to do right.
There was almost little to no drama..even in the end it wasn't all that much. The hero and heroine have a smashing time..don't mean only in the bedspread haha, and form a real connection in no time at all. And even while solving the drama, they did it so efficiently, made me feel there was no drama ever existing at all.
This was my first Emma Slate book, but I definitely enjoyed it a lot - just based on the smooth as hell writing, charming characters who developed overtime, the fun side characters, the romance/chemistry, the issues could've been developed more.
But I enjoyed this one. And will either read the previous books or hold my breath for a future release by Emma.
We shall see.

Slash is a piece of shit.
He didn't even grovel. I mean, not even 2 lines. He just left and when he came back everything was okay.
Brooklyn deserved better, but she is stupid.
This book show that you can destroy all book in just 1 page.

I loved this one. It wasn't what I was expecting but it was sure amazing. I can't wait for the next book to come out.

Sadly, this book was way too long, too much rambling. The conflict with her building and business was not believable, and this is the nicest way to say it (seriously, who can deviate loan payments from the bank account to another account!? and not to be observed by the bank for 3 hole months? In these days??? And for what? That's a huge plot hole, in my opinion.)
I liked her most of the time. I did not like him. He was like a robot. That's how I perceived his character after reading so many pages of this too long as$ book. The 3rd act conflict between the couple solved too easily. I liked him even less after she forgave him so fast.
I will still continue the series because I loved the first two books.
Also, there were so many side characters, and I had to hardly try to remember who was who 😂.

Emma Slate continues to prove why this series has me completely hooked. Madness & Mayhem follows Slash and Brooklyn, whose lives are forever changed after one unforgettable night leaves Brooklyn pregnant with a biker’s baby. What starts as an unexpected situation quickly turns into Slash doing everything in his power to protect both Brooklyn and their baby, even if he’s convinced he’s not the kind of man she deserves.
If you know me, you know two of my favorite tropes are insta-love and surprise pregnancy so this book was practically written for me. The pacing is fantastic, the story never drags, and Emma Slate’s writing style continues to be one of my favorites. I flew through this audiobook, and Tor Thom and Calamity Jane Lane absolutely nailed the performance. They brought so much personality and emotion to these characters that I didn’t want to stop listening.
The only reason this wasn’t a full five-star read for me comes down to the emotional connection between Slash and Brooklyn. Their physical chemistry is undeniable from the very beginning, but I wanted more emotional depth to match it. Because of Slash’s secrecy and the weight of his past, it takes a long time before we truly understand him, and I found myself wishing Brooklyn had asked for more emotionally instead of accepting so little for much of the story.
That said, once the truth about Slash finally comes to light, everything clicks into place. He’s a nomad carrying years of trauma, isolation, and guilt, and watching him slowly learn how to let someone in was incredibly rewarding. By the end of the book, I completely understood why he was the way he was, and his character growth felt earned.
One of my favorite parts of the story was Brooklyn’s journey. She starts off quiet, hesitant, and unsure of herself, but with Slash’s support she gradually learns to speak up, ask for what she needs, and become more confident. I loved watching her find that strength.
My only other tiny complaint and this is purely personal preference is Slash calling her “woman.” It just isn’t a pet name that works for me. It didn’t affect my enjoyment of the story, but I definitely cringed every time I heard it.
Overall, this was another fantastic installment in the Tarnished Angels Motorcycle Club series. Great pacing, lovable characters, emotional payoff, and an outstanding audiobook performance make this an easy recommendation. I’m loving this series more with every book, and I can’t wait to see where Emma Slate takes us next.

What a fantastic story that will hit you in all the feels! I started on my Blue Angels deep dive approximately 2 days ago and I'm just now coming up for air, lol. It started with a reread of Wreck and Ruin and I've devoured the next two books one right after another. Another favorite trope of mine "accidental pregnancy" combined with a not so favorite of mine "the widow", but it was done really well and I walked away happy and looking forward to book 4. These books are supposed to be standalones, but I would highly suggest reading them in order as there are overlapping open issues that go from book to book. i.e. no closure in book 2 about a topic, but its resolution is discussed in book 3. The books are told in first person, from only the heroine's perspective, which I've seen many people gripe about, but I've enjoyed the switch up from the spoon feeding of both perspectives 🤷🏻♀️.
LOVE the characters and the chemistry between them. Brooklyn kind of goes through a rather immature freak out at one point, but she is pregnant and emotions happen :) I loved how Slash had already planned on finding her before he learned she was pregnant, but do wish he was more upfront about his past. Overall, a great read and I'm really looking forward to see what's next!

I received an ARC of this book and I started it as soon as I woke up. I love this series. Although it is based around the club you do not have them around the club house much and it was for me a lighter book than other MC romances, but to be honest this is exactly what I needed at the moment. Yes, I love the dark elements at times but sometimes you do just need something a little bit lighter but still with a little bit of danger involved and this was the perfect mix.

Loved it
I have to say this book has a bit of everything, romance, action, humor, and drama. The characters slash and brooklyn are so cute together they sould not have flowed togther but they were perfect his chill to her temper was so good. The storyline was fast paced and showing the other characters and some new ones definitely worth the read I'm looking forward to the next book.

Word to the wise: never listen to the Madness & Mayhem audiobook while playing The Sims.
Unless, of course, you want to accidentally *on purpose* create a ruggedly handsome, beast of a biker Sim boyfriend called Slash who’s determined to “WooHoo” allllllllllllll the time… and before you know it, you’re drowning in Sim babies. 😂😂😂
My only complaint while listening to Tor Thom and Calamity Jane Lane bring these characters to life was that Sim Slash couldn’t say “Woman” quite like Audiobook Slash.
Which, if we’re being so honest, was probably the main reason behind the ever-growing horde of virtual, leather-jacket-wearing biker babies.
This audiobook was absolutely addictive. Tor Thom and Calamity Jane Lane completely embodied these characters, and the duet narration made every ounce of tension, obsession, possessiveness, and chemistry hit that much harder.
Apparently, it also inspired an entire biker dynasty in my Sims game. #sorrynotsorry ✌️

This is book 3 in the Tarnished Angels MC series, and I was so happy to be back in this world! I listened to the audio for this one and it was fantastic! This is duet narration with Tor Thom and Calamity Jane Lane and both of them did such a great job bringing the characters and story to life!
In this one we follow Brooklyn and Slash and their unexpected journey after a one-night stand. Things with the two of them move super quick. Brooklyn owns a bakery and Slash is a nomad with the MC, but after their one night he comes back for her, not even knowing she was pregnant.
Slash was all in from the very beginning and was doing any and everything to take care of Brooklyn. Was he a bit over the top? Maybe. Was it great? Yes. We don't have a lot of emotional depth in this one, most of those moments that we think we are going to get turn into spicy scenes. It is clear Slash doesn't like to discuss his feelings, but they are there.
Then we have the mystery behind what is happening with Brooklyn's bakery and that definitely kept me saying wtf every time something new happened.
Overall, I enjoyed this one. If you're looking for a good mc romance read with an age gap, surprise pregnancy, one night stand, and some great spice, then definitely check this one out! I cannot wait to jump into the next one! Huge thank you to Dark Star Audio for the early copy to listen to!

- i feel like the ending was rushed a little bit? and it ended kind of abruptly

This book was a great read, and I really enjoyed it so much. The characters and the storyline were so relatable and very easy to connect to. I really enjoyed reading Slash and Brooklyn as a couple. Yeah, they both caught themselves in a situation they both never expected, but I loved how they handled everything. Slash wanting to take care of Brooklyn was so admiring and cute cause there's nothing that is so great that a mmc wants to take care of a fmc but also let her feel her independence. I loved how the club members with their Old Ladies welcomed Brooklyn into their family. I love Jazz for being a friend to Brooklyn, the same as Wila and Brenely. I enjoyed the truth revelation about Slash past and loved that they talked about everything and solved them.

Book three in the series features two entirely new characters, Brooklyn and a nomad named Slash in an age-gap romance, while still featuring many established Blue Angels we’ve met in the first two books. After a one night stand leaves Brooklyn pregnant, you get to watch the two of them get to know each other and fall in love. The book has plenty of steamy scenes that Emma is so great at, while also focusing on their relationship and Brooklyn’s growing bakery, which takes multiple hits along the way.
The book is not nearly as dark as Linden’s book, but it still pulls you into Brooklyn’s story in a great and unique way. One of the many things Emma knows how to do is write strong female characters, and that trend continues in Madness and Mayhem. It’s definitely not a stand alone book and you need to read the first two books in the series for multiple pieces of the puzzle to fit together, but I love that there are plenty of updates on characters we’ve already met while still keeping you wanting more. It also introduces several more characters that will keep you coming back to continue with the Blue Angels!

This series is SO SO good! Everybody just gets better and better! Each couple is unique in their own way but share traits of an all-encompassing love, romance. And even though the men tout themselves as outlaws , really they are defenders of those that can't defend themselves, they right the wrongs or try to of those truly evil and give out their brand of justice which is mostly way more appropriate than the over run courts who give nothing but a slap on the wrist if that. But I digress...
The women are strong, loving, sassy and have huge hearts to encompass any and all of the huge biker family.
Add in the drama and angst they seem to attract, the comedy or heartbreak as another "brother" falls under a women's spell and you have a fast paced delightful read!

Yes, I already love this series. I’ve been hooked since Crash & Carnage and that’s because I started out of order lol. I find that Emma’s writing style is easy to flow and stay engaged.
The banter between both main characters and side characters is extremely hysterical and I loved every minute of it. Definitely need a book about Homer & Jaz!!!
Sweet sassy lily and the other kiddos make my heart melt! This was genuinely heartwarming and loved getting to know Slash & Brooklynn.
Calamity Jane & Tor Thom were a beautiful pairing to bring this story to life.

I received an ARC copy of this book and was so excited to read it. Brooklyn and Slash have such great chemistry! Their relationship moves quickly but I loved how patient Slash was with her and that he wanted her to feel ready for their next steps. He is such a caring guy and that really comes out in the story. Overall, this is a light MC romance with not too much of a deep dive into the workings of the club. This can be read as a standalone but if you have read the other books in the series, there are plenty of moments with those characters. I loved how Brooklyn seamlessly fit with the MC members and their families. Overall, a fun read and I look forward to the next in the series!

Love the chemistry between Slash and Brooklyn. I'm also a sucker for accidental pregnancy storylines. The steam was so good, and the drama gave me all the feelings. The angst was beautifully done and heartbreaking.

I usually don’t like the accidental pregnancy plot, but I honestly really liked this book.
