Kody always knew she was different, and not just because she grew up in a home for troubled foster kids. If that was her only issue, she would have fit right in. Instead she smothers herself in foundation to cover the green swirls that show up on her brown skin in the sun, and styles her hair with care every morning to hide the odd shape of her ears. But these are the least of her problems when Kody suddenly finds herself yanked out of reality and dropped into the set of a renaissance fair where no one speaks her language. Join her as she tries to find her way home in Forever Misplaced.
Heather Michelle is an emerging author of young adult fantasy. She lives in Acworth, GA with her cat Mister Bingley and a slew of unique roommates.
Growing up, Heather Michelle spent more time living in her imagination than outside of it. Small town life sandwiched between the redwood forests and the Pacific ocean provided a rich scope for the imagination. Before the age of twelve, Heather Michelle was not a reader, but a chance encounter with a rented audiobook launched her into the vast world of the printed word, and she never looked back.
Forever Misplaced is a beautiful, uplifting tale about friendship, belonging and finding your place in the world and I loved every word!
I haven’t read the other books in this series, but it didn’t hamper my enjoyment, although I’m now keen to catch up with the other books to spend more time in this world! The world building was very imaginative, unique and unravelled at a good pace, so I felt that I was experiencing it as I journeyed alongside Kody. There was great attention to detail and I particularly liked the cute mythical creatures and magically powered technology.
Kody was a great, relatable character and I was rooting for her to find her family. I loved her super sweet, slow burn romance with Tristan and her sarcastic banter with Briony and Callum.
The story was fast paced and, although it was a novella, it never felt rushed. I’d thoroughly recommend it to all YA fantasy fans and I can’t wait to dive into the previous books in the Misplaced Children series.

Dropped from a portal into a magical forest, Kody finds herself in a world where no one speaks her language except for one handsome, broody blacksmith. In a world of magical creatures she has only heard of in stories, she embarks on a journey to discover herself, her identity and her roots.
I devoured this book in a day because despite of being a short story, it was packed with action. It was fast paced and I loved that the author managed to introduce the world perfectly for readers who have not read the trilogy.
The world-building, secondary characters, the plot twist had me really going and invested in the story. There were humorous banters and slow-burn romance brimming in the mix. I absolutely adored Kody!
Read this book if you like: ¤ Magic ¤ Fantastical creatures ¤ Slow-burn romance ¤ happy X broody romance ¤ Royal family political intrigue ¤ Narnia
This novella is part of The Misplaced Children series but can be read as a standalone. It will definitely make you want to read the trilogy as well!
I gave Forever Misplaced 4 stars. This stand alone Novella was magical, fun, and fast paced. I really enjoyed the amount of world building packed into this little book and the magical creatures were so cute~ I really enjoyed Kody as our MC and going along with her as she discovered the world she was dropped into and where she belonged in it! Also the slow burn Grumpy x Sunshine romance was cute~ I'd say if you like Narnia you would enjoy this series!

Forever Misplaced is a novella by Heather Michelle. This book is technically part of the author's Misplaced series but it can be read as a stand-alone (which I did because I had no prior knowledge of the series). Kody has never been normal. She didn't just grow up a foster kid, but she has odd green swirls on her skin and pointed ears. Suddenly thrust into a new world where she can't understand anybody Kody finds herself on a journey to find where she really belongs.
This novella is a fast-paced, quick read about a girl trying to find her place in any world. I found the magical world creares within this book to be lush and enchanting. This book honestly felt like I was reading an anime where the mc is sucked into a video game! I loved that aspect of it! As this is a novella set in a pre-established series I did get the sense that I was missing things and while they weren't exactly pertinent for my understanding I felt a bit left out. I might have to pick up the other books set in the world now!
Overall, I feel that Forever Misplaced is a perfect, quick read about a girl who's never felt at home anywhere finding her place in life. I'd recommend this novella to those who enjoy stories about magical worlds and maybe have ever felt misplaced in their own life.

Content - Kody's life is always full of unpleasant experiences. From childhood, she has been an orphan living life in foster homes but she never experienced family love or fulfillment. Moreover, she felt always frowned upon by others and smothered her skin with foundation to cover her green swirls that becomes prominent in the sun or cover her oddly shaped ears. . But she got her ultimate shock of life when she was thrown out of her apartment by her boyfriend oneday and she somehow magically dropped into another world of reality where no one speaks her language. After great difficulty she finally finds a man named Tristan who speaks her language and has knowledge about her situation. . Read the book to know what happened with Kody. 📖 📖 My Views - This is a Novella within the Misplaced Series by the same author. This book can be read as a standalone. The scenarios and overall surroundings are explained beautifully. The world building is really magical. Though some things needs more explanation for which you have to read the series but separately also this book is quite enjoyable. The bonding and love shown is really emotional. . Overall a nice and magical quick fantasy read. . Thank you between the spines tours for the opportunity .
I am so glad I read this book!!!!! I love how the author shows Kody as an outcast within her surroundings, and the lasting impact that has on how Kody sees herself. This story is perfect for the above age group. Because, at the end of the day all any of us truly wants is to belong to something. Being different should bring conversation and togetherness as this story points out. I cannot recommend this story and author enough. Please do yourself a favor and pick up this book for a friend, birthday gift, or just because it is that good!!

This book was a short quick read, with a really adorable protagonist. The world the author built is enchantingly magical, and one can't but root for Kody as she is finding her way home... not just a place called home, but where she truly belongs...
This book makes me want to read the rest of this series, though it worked fairly well as a standalone.
I LOVED Kody's story. #4 in the Misplaced children's series. I enjoyed learning more about one of the original characters Tristin and how he has moved on from being a misplaced child. This is also a great stand alone book. Kody is sweet and just realizing her strength and a home she has always wanted. She realizes things she hated in her misplaced life are of such value with people who love her.
This was a great read! Heather Michelle created a great novella that I devoured in one evening and didn't want to put it down. It works wonderfully as a stand alone, and reading the previous misplaced series isn't necessary. I love the world building-as this takes place mostly in a new area of the world we have yet to explore. The pacing is great and we get into the action rather quickly.
