Witchling: A Jack Drummond Thriller

Rate this book
DI Jack Drummond stared at the horned figure and shivered. The man was dead, pinned to a wall high above an altar in a room deliberately staged to celebrate the Pagan Festival of Samhain.
Was it witchcraft? Or was that just what the killer wanted them to believe?
Sienna Wilde’s son, Pagan, is the murder victim, and her daughter Raven is missing.
So why are the authorities trying to shut down Drummond’s investigation just when he and his team of detectives Nick Rougvie and Kes Crombie, are beginning to untangle the knots of the case?
Are they intervening to protect Sienna’a partner, self-proclaimed Highland Seer, Elias Finlay? The couple are High Priest and Priestess of their coven and claim to have powers to control those around them. But do they? Could they be connected to the killings? Or is somebody deliberately staging the murder scenes to guide detectives away from the truth?

Praise for the Mellin Cove Series:

“DANGER AT MELLIN COVEgave me the same thrills I got when I first read Jamaica Inn. Terrific! It had me completely gripped and entranced. I thoroughly enjoyed it.” - E-Scape Press Author Judy Jarvie.

“A smashing read enjoyed every page, full of suspense, a good story well written, would recommend this book to my friends.” Amazon reader review

“A good story to settle down with after a long day of stress. It takes the reader to another time and place and reveals a slice of life from the point of view of Hedra who is a naïve, but spunky young woman. She has a strong sense of right and wrong. Even though she comes from wealth and position, she relates to the needs and circumstances of the hardworking people of Mellin Cove.” - Long and Short Reviews

I was sent a copy of Rena George's latest book to read and I must say I could not wait. I have been reading Rena's books for a number of years and they never disappoint. There are so many twists and turns and surprises along the read it is impossible to guess who the villain or villains are. I could not put this book down and if you want a really good read then do not hesitate, as you won't be disappointed either. Rena really is a master story teller, the only problem now is waiting for the next book to be published!!!

Gripping

Detective Jack Drummond is called to investigate the death of a man who is pinned to a wall above an altar, staged to celebrate the Pagan Festival of Samhain. It is a grisly find and worse is yet to come, but for some reason unknown to Jack, his bosses seem strangely reluctant to let him investigate fully. There are plenty of twists and turns and this book kept me gripped from beginning to end.
