We just visited beautiful Asheville, NC and stayed at the Grove Park Inn, stunning. While at GPI, we took the audio tour of the Inn, which was very interesting. They dropped a bombshell during the tour about "the lawsuit" between Grove and Seely. There was never any mention of any ill will between the two, in fact Seely was Grove's son-in-law. We asked the concierge for more information and he actually gave us a copy of this book. It is a very interesting story about the history of GPI.
There was some detail about the lawsuit, but that was not the purpose of the book, sadly.
I plan to reach out to Mr Johnson, a local authority, and see if he can shed more light on the subject.
In the meantime, go to Asheville, stay at the historic Grove Park Inn, visit Biltmore Estate, incredible, eat amazing Mexican food at Ay Caramba! You can thank me later.
