Once upon a time, a little girl was born on a cold winter morning in the heart of Seoul, Korea. She was brought to America by her parents and raised in the Deep South where the words ma'am and y'all became an integrated part of her lexicon. She wrote her first novel at the age of eight and continued writing on and off during her teenage years. In college she studied biology and chemistry and finally combined the two by earning a master's degree in biochemistry. After that she moved to Yankee land where she lived for four years working in a laboratory at Cornell University. Homesickness and snow aversion forced her back South where she lives in the land which spawned Elvis Presley, Oprah Winfrey, John Grisham and B.B. King. After finding her Prince Charming, she gave birth to a wondrous gift named Caylin and they all lived happily ever after.
The second book to the Harvester of Light trilogy will be available for purchase no later than December 2012.
I am surprised by how many god reviews this book has. I can only imagine (since at this time there are only 81 total) that they are loyal readers or possibly ARC readers trying to hype up this book for S.J West. If you are interested you can look through my notes on this book and see how many things were wrong with this concluding story. First off, the editing was POOR to say the least. At one point she even messed up Alek’s name and wrote Alex instead. Like did this book go through editing at all? Or was it all self edit because there is a lot to be desired in that area. From misspellings to crazy underdeveloped ideas and flippant statements said about what should be BIG moments in the book to reiteration of ideas and conversations. It was very lacking. There were so many good ideas in this book for a good story which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1, but I almost DNF this book because it was poorly underdeveloped. Bad needing as well, so if you’re looking for a good conclusion, this is not it. It seems as though there could be a fourth book, but at this point the series has gone downhill so I would not pick up that book to read.
Undeniable takes us to the end. The last hope for humanity- and its all wrapped in a bubble. Literally. Ivy, Damon, Simon, Alek, Emily, Jack, Oberon, and i mean EVERYONE is literally hanging on a piece of thread for dear life. Im not sure how i feel about this ending.. It needs an extra closure- an extra “wrap up”. It was almost bittersweet with an undeniable thirst for more. It was not the ending i expected- i wanted to actually see their HEA versus assuming - I HATE assuming. I hate guessing that they hopefully got their HEA based on that last scene. sorry, Im a visualizar and to me if is not written then it didn’t happened! 😭😭😭
So much happens in this story. They go through the trials. Damon gets carried away by a giant bat with several others. Then a giant spider tries to kill them until he realizes a fire starts in the forest. The spider starts screaming for its babies. Damon finds a way through the fire. Rescues the babies, then the spider helps them get up the mountain & later scares off giant wolves (10 feet tall). Simon fails his trial because he won't sacrifice his child to save the others. So Ivy makes a deal to wipe away everyone else's memory but hers. In the end her grandmother & the AI controlling the program end up helping her put.
I absolutely loved this series and I could picture everything in my head, like a TV show... I NEED a TV show made about it because, wow, this series is out of this world... phenomenal!!! 😍 I'm not sure about that ending???... I mean, everything turned out OK (???) for Emily and Ivy, but there is still to much to do!!! 🤔😫 I hope we get one more book, or a novella, something that give us a peek into their future, because this story is awesome!!! 🤗🥰
There were so many twists and turns, that it would keep you enraptured from start to finish. Not only would you be enthralled from the get go. The story line had so much depth and flowed so smoothly. The characters had great chemistry among each other and the trials and tribulations that each one had to go through. Absolutely amazing! Once again another fantastic series by SJ!
I don’t know which character I love most. Ivy Emily Boris agh there’s just so much to love about them all!! This series has been by far one of the best I have read in a while. SJ West is just so amazing at how she makes her characters so relatable and easy to love!! Ivy has a lot riding on her shoulders will she prevail?? Will Emily be able to stand up to her father?? Just read the series, it’s so worth it!
The third and final book in the series was a huge disappointment for me. There was a lot of mixed information, added characters that did tie together. Some really far-fetched space age ideas which really didn't connect to the original storyline. This could have been expanded easily into separate series, but choose to wrap it all into one. The ending really left an opportunity to length and wrap it all but did not sadly and there wasn't much closer.
I am so hooked! I want... no, I NEED more. There was more Emily and Oberon in thirds book. I usually do not like when the focus is off of the original MCs but I like their story and would love a spin off or novella that focuses just on them.
I was not ready for the twist/ending that West gave me. I NEED another book.
This book is such a fun read. I enjoyed the romance a lot. It isn't a love triangle but resolves itself really nice. The action in the novel is really fun. I love the fight scenes and the whole world building. The book is an awesome conclusion and does a great job answering questions from the previous books. If you love paranormal romance in the YA genre, you should check it out.
I loved reading about these characters. The story was moving and suspenseful. It was hard to put the book down to do anything else. While it did have an HEA, it wasn't a very satisfying one for me. I wish there had been at least one more paragraph. That's why I only gave it 4 stars.
Ivy has endured a lot. She was raised by Boris but he isn't her father. She's part fae and she had no idea. Men are fighting over her, but her heart belongs to Damon. This is a strange but interesting story. Sometimes you might want to break through the pages and make people listen. Get submerged in the middle of the good and bad.
I loved this book and the two intertwining stories of Ivy and Emily. This series was not at all what I expected when I started the first book and I love that about it. SJ West continues her marvelous world building and I wish this series could be made into a movie or tv show.
Love SJ West’s writing style so much!! I’ve been waiting for book 3 and it was so good! The characters and world building are top notch. The storyline and action just holds my attention and I can’t stop reading. Recommended!
This book was amazing! West kept you guessing the whole time. There was never a slow moment. And that ending! I need more! This whole book series has been really well done. I love the characters and the world West gave to us. Definitely one of the best series I've read in a while.
I hate that the ending feels so left open! There’s so much more that could happen with the stories and characters! I only left four stars for that reason! Please write another book to this series!
Great book until she left it unfinished does he say it does he remember do they complete the quest and get to live freely in the real world what happens to Emily's mom does she get to rule both fea what HAPPENS.......
Just loved this story. From beginning to the end. Ivy has had a rough life and the ending to this book gives hope to HEA. They all definitely deserved it in this. I hope there is another book to this series.
That ending was definitely a roller coaster! I'm happy with the ending, but at the same time I'm yearning for more. All the characters continued to be their true selves with a few surprises thrown in.
I am loving this series, it's original, well written, thoughtful and clever with an amazing storyline and beautiful characters, I love it! I can't wait to read the next book!
I really enjoyed this series. This serie was filled with lots of twist and turns. What an amazing ending to a fantastic ending. I highly recommend this series. You won’t be disappointed.
What an AMAZING adventure! My heart is so full right now, it’s beautiful ❤️ That was the most perfect happily ever after! This world & its characters was exactly what I needed in my life.
This dual-POV fantasy follows Emily as she comes face-to-face with the dark fae king—and discovers he is her soulmate, bound to her by fate itself. While navigating a connection she never expected, Emily must also race against time to save Earth 104 from failing its task, a failure that would mean total collapse. Meanwhile, Ivy carries two devastating secrets she cannot share without destroying everything she loves. As the pressure mounts, Ivy is forced to confront an impossible choice: make the ultimate sacrifice to save her world and the people she holds dear—or lose them forever.
What a ride!! Wow. I’m sad this series is over but the ending was so worth it. I hope we will eventually get to see these characters again. I hope to learn more about how Emily and Ivy are later on after all the events…
