The last week of high school is always one filled with excitement from friends and family. For Alexander Carson, this remains the same until one day, in a bout of teenage rebellion, he stops taking the anxiety medication he has been prescribed his whole life. Now, outside of the fog created by pills, Alex is propelled into a new world of mad experimentation, shadowy billionaires, and secrets of his own life. With the help of his friends, he might be able to keep himself from turning into a monster.
I loved this book. Daniel Buttle wrote about a boy who spent his whole life never feeling emotions deeply enough, due to his anxiety medication. One day, at the end of his senior year, he decides he's had enough, and skips it, only to find the STRANGEST things happening to him.
Devastator is a short read, but an amazing set-up for the rest of the series that I'm sure is being written at this moment. You definitely get invested in the characters, and the plot thickens at just the right moment. You know it's a good book when you audibly gasp.
Would definitely recommend and can't wait for the next one!
