The trap is set, the bait is dangled, and temptation is waiting for you.
Calling in sick to work, skipping school, or missing church–these are everyday temptations native to us all. But what about enticements that catch you off guard? Or the allurement of old habits–disguised and repackaged?
Spiritual battles require spiritual weaponry.
In this practical look at the temptation of Jesus, you will discover how you can build an effective defense against Satan's subtle and not-so-subtle attacks. You do not need to let temptation trip you up ever again.
This booklet was an excellent read! Pastor Jack provides an insight into how Satan works to undermine our relationships with Christ. It is similar to the Screwtape Letters. He reveals how we are tempted by the devil and provides tools to build a defense against his ways. I would recommend this to anyone, even if you think you are "good" at avoiding temptation. It doesn't hurt to deepen your relationship with God.
Pastor Jack is not only a fantastic Bible teacher, he’s a great writer and communicator. His books are easy for anyone to read. He sticks with the truth of God’s Word and thankfully, never waivers.
We are all tempted by Satan every day and this book will help you understand how to recognize what is gay and whether it’s temptation by Satan or not. He gives a few questions to ponder at the end of each chapter. Highly recommended!!!!!
excellent Book straight to the point! I really appreciate it
I have walked with Jesus for a very long time. I encourage everyone to read this book. It is excellent. The Lord has really opened my eyes on how to overcome temptation and trust him more. I believe that if you read this book, it will strengthen and encourage you and your walk with the Lord.
This book was very concise and stayed focused on the topic. There were a few engaging stories and really insightful points but at times it felt like he was saying things I guess would be considered Christian cliches… which sounds wrong and is kind of complicated because he’s saying the core things that are truths. I guess there’s just so much writing on Christian topics that I feel it to be easy to feel like I’ve heard this before. In all honesty, if my review were based solely off the criteria of 1) did this book set out to do what it was supposed to, and 2) did it do it well then I would rate it higher. However, my ratings are based off those marks but also off if I liked it or not. I know this is a big no no when it comes to reviews, and if I were giving a review for the public or even giving feedback then of course that wouldn’t fly. But these ratings on here are for my friends to some degree, sure, but mainly, they’re for me and my personal taste in writing. So… really long over explained story short: 4.2.
This is an easy to read, very helpful book. We all suffer temptation. How great is it, that scripture says, we are given a way out. A great reminder that Christ suffered temptation too.
I enjoyed this book. From the start of knowing my enemy, the devil to the last page overcoming temptation through Jesus Christ. I recommend this book to anyone who's struggling especially with habitual sins.
