I made the decision to read this series in light of the current live adaptation. I like the idea when I look at it.

I don’t Like the cheating trop but man everything else is finer!! I love the end of the world scenario!! It’s soooo good and well done and the side characters are really nice too. Going straight into volume 2!!

Gdybyście dowiedzieli się, że za kilka dni nadchodzi koniec świata, co byście pierwsze zrobili?
Ja prawdopodobnie albo bym nie uwierzyła — w końcu jako osoba z rocznikiem 99 już kilka przeżyłam 😅 Później po prostu uznałabym, że już nie ma sensu wychodzić z domu, by spędzić ostatnie dni, kończąc rozpoczętą książkę — w końcu nie wypada odchodzić z tego świata z niedoczytanymi pozycjami, prawda?
Za 10 dni w Ziemię uderzy ogromny meteoryt.
Kiedy nad światem wisi zagłada, Masumi postanawia rzucić dotychczasowe zajęcia i spędzić resztę pozostałego mu czasu w uniwersyteckiej bibliotece, czytając ulubione książki. Nie spodziewa się jednak, że właśnie tam spotka Ritsu – człowieka, który dziesięć lat wcześniej boleśnie go zranił. Czy nadchodząca globalna katastrofa sprawi, że Masumi wybaczy mu tamtą podłość, a przede wszystkim czy zgodzi się na dość zaskakującą propozycję, jaką złoży mu Ritsu?
Szczerze jak tylko pojawią się Ritsu na drodze Masumi'ego miałam ochotę krzyczeć do głównego bohatera by go ignorował. W końcu 1. Kończy się świat, 2. Osoba, która przed nim stoi, dosłownie zraniła i zdradziła go w najbardziej dotkliwy sposób, 3. Ritsu wcale nie wygląda jakby żałował tego co zrobił.
Więc tak, choć to zaledwie dwutomowa seria nie mam zamiaru poznać zakończenia — nawet jeśli serio na końcu nadchodzi koniec. Po tym co zaserwował nam autor w tym tomie, mogę się śmiało domyślić, do jakiego końca zmierzamy — a niestety okładki również ów je sugerują. A ja niestety go nie kupuję. Ritsu niesamowicie irytował mnie swoją postawą i argumentami, dlaczego robił, co robił i nawet nie widział w tym nic złego, a wręcz normalnego.
Ta manga dosłownie uwolniła moją drugą twarz, do której jestem zdolna jeśli chodzi o książki, mangi, seriale itp. a mianowicie czepiać i krytykować każde zachowanie i czyny bohatera, którego chętnie bym wyrzuciła, że scenariusza i życia bohatera. Tak wiem, przeszłość mogła go tak zmienić, tylko że czemu zawsze główni bohaterowie mają być Matką Teresą za każdym razem dla nich, a już względem swojej rodziny to już nie? Jeśli protagonista chce wyrwać się z jednego toksycznego środowiska, raczej na logikę unika wplątywania się w podobne, a może i nawet gorsze środowisko.
Bo choć Masumi twierdzi, że nie chce mieć z tym człowiekiem nic wspólnego to i tak pozwala mi rządzić i układać plan na ostatnie dni jego życia. Chłop dosłownie powinien był wyłączyć telefon i nigdzie nie wychodzić, choć wyszedł do biblioteki, gdzie wielu z nas (osób poświęcających tworzyć środowisko book mediów nawet w minimalny sposób) wybralibyśmy się, by choć ostatni raz podziwiać kolekcję książek większą od naszych 😅 Ale jemu niestety ten pomysł niestety nie wyszedł na dobre.

Resumen:
1️⃣ El mundo va a acabarse en 10 días, por lo que el protagonista, un imán para la mala suerte llamado Masumi, decide pasar sus últimos días en la biblioteca de su universidad. Sin embargo, sin querer termina encontrándose con Ritsu, su ex novio, quien lo embarca en una aventura para compensar sus malas acciones del pasado.
2️⃣ Durante este viaje también se encuentran con un estudiante que necesita reunirse con su mamá y con el hermano de una amiga de Ritsu, quien se presume se suicidó por culpa de Ritsu.
3️⃣ Al final, se aclara el pasado de Ritsu y este termina por redimirse. Logra que el protagonista lo perdone y lleva a sus amigos a sus respectivos destinos. El mundo no se acaba y en un extra nos detallan sus vidas después del fin del mundo.
Lo bueno:
✅️ La premisa de la historia y las distintas reacciones de las personas frente a un hipotético fin del mundo.
✅️ El pasado de la pareja principal.
✅️ Final feliz.
Lo malo:
⛔️ No se profundizó en los "poderes" del estudiante.
⛔️ Me hubiera gustado saber si el estudiante y el hermano de la amiga de Ritsu terminaron juntos.
⛔️ No se ahondó tanto en los sentimientos de Ritsu hacia Masumi. Si lo extrañaba tanto, ¿por qué recién se animó a buscarlo cuando el mundo estaba por acabarse? Mmm... demasiado conveniente.

This story is actually a M/M manga because the characters aren't "boys" but men in their twenties/early thirties.
The story of The end of the world with you follows Masumi Nishina - a young adult with a tragic childhood,bad luck and a tendency to make poor decisions as he spends his last 10 days of life before a meteor clashes on earth.
This story has a lot of potential as it could focus on Masumi's reflection on his regrets and deciding to make the best out of his last days of life instead of living in misery but unfortunately the complete opposite happens.
After wasting his time drinking beer and lazing around Masumi decides to spend his last days reading books he wasn't able to read after his college graduation and re-reading his favorite books.
During his time browsing the library his ex-boyfriend from college Ritsu Kusakabe walks up to him asking him to speak with him outside.
He later explains that he has this drug he received from a guy at a dance club that he is willing to spare if Masumi helps him hide a body.
Masumi agrees since he is afraid of dying along with everyone else when the meteor hits earth.
Turns out the drug didn't work because the person Kusakabe gave the drug to was still alive.
It seems to only give people a death-like state and not actually death.
Here's the issue with this situation(other than Mutsumi agreeing to help move someone's dead body) the person Kusakabe gave the drug to was a highschooler.
He found this boy online while he was browsing online looking for people who wanted to die.
He claims he didn't know this person was a child until they had arrived yet he still gave the boy the drug without asking why he wanted to die,who he was nor did he think of about how unethical it was to help a child commit suicide.
It was Masumi who had asked the boy - who is revealed to be named Hirota Yuuma - why he wanted to die.
Yuuma explains that he wanted to die because he was dealing with severe bullying due to his confession to a girl with a very violent boyfriend.
Masumi and Kusakabe of course brush off this boy's struggles as if it wasn't important and the author writes these scenes as comedy.
It's ironic for Masumi to be insensitive towards Yuuma's plight and brush it off as something he should move on from because he will graduate from school soon when Masumi still hasn't moved on from his resentment he has towards Kusakabe.
It turns out Kusakabe not only cheated on Masumi multiple times,he blackmailed Masumi with footage of them "together" as leverage in case Masumi discovered his unfaithful actions.
Kusakabe has a reputation of cheating, breaking up other people's romantic relationships and ruining different clubs at their old college yet he has become more successful than Masumi who had to repeat a year in college because of missing classes due to the shock of Kusakabe's betrayal and blackmail.
Luckily Masumi had at least one good friend - Hashimoto - who didn't reject or insult him for his homosexuality and instead encouraged Masumi to return to his classes.
Unfortunately Masumi ended up applying to work during an economic crisis so he ended up in a terrible work environment where he either couldn't find or keep a job for long or was being abused by his bosses.
He has student loans to pay and most of his money goes to his mother(he grew up in a single parent household) who is an abusive gambler.
Though Masumi isn't perfect and has unlikable traits he is relatable to some degree where else Kusakabe is a selfish,promiscuous and egotistical cheater who used Masumi's lack of experience with relationships to manipulate and use him for his own satisfaction.
He even refused to help Yuuma return home when Masumi stated he was going to help his mother who strained her back.
He has a pattern of bringing up Masumi's family situation to force Masumi to be with him.
This is possibly the worst pairing I've ever read in a M/M manga aside from the ones in Kaze to ki no uta and A cornered mouse dreams of cheese.
I don't route for this relationship in any way,in fact I want Masumi to completely break ties with Kusakabe and not waste his last days of life with this deplorable scoundrel.
All in all this is a terrible romance story and the only reason I finished this volume is because I hate dropping stories in the middle of reading them and because I was hoping Masumi and Kusakabe would bring Yuuma back home before the meteor hits earth.
I probably won't read volume 2.
I don't know how anyone could rate this book 5 stars unless they are paid for their reviews or have next to no experience with properly written novels and BL/MxM manga.

En France, les boys love que les éditeurs importent se ressemblent souvent un peu tous. Rares sont ceux qui sortent du lot. Pourtant, Hana Collection a fait le pari de sortir ce diptyque au titre accrocheur : La fin du monde avec toi.
Réel récit d'anticipation, Maki Marukido y propose un road trip sur fond de fin du monde qui approche à grand pas dans quelques jours avec la chute prévue d'une météorite sur Terre. Comment vont réagir les gens face à ce danger ? C'est le sujet de ce boys love en 2 tomes parus simultanément au Japon et chez nous, qui surprend.
Amatrice de SF, le sujet m'a forcément intéressée. J'ai apprécié de suivre, comme souvent dans ce type d'histoire, un héros lambda, employé trentenaire dans une entreprise qui ne lui convient pas et qui a une vie un peu pourrie. Masumi va choisir de finir sa vie dans la bibliothèque de la fac, un lieu qu'il aime pour ses livres mais aussi le lieu de souvenirs, ceux de ses meilleures années. Il va alors y tomber sur le beau gosse égocentrique qui lui a brisé le coeur et qui est devenu entre temps un PDG à succès et à la mode, autre figure habituelle des histoires de fin du monde carrément détestable. De leur rencontre va naître une dynamique étrange que je ne vais pas forcément apprécier au début mais qui saura me toucher dans le tome suivant.
Le premier tome se concentre donc sur le récit de cette catastrophe à venir et les premières réactions des gens : incrédulité, complot, fantasme, résolution, suicide... mais pas de panique, ce qui est assez surprenant et donne un ton assez calme à la série. L'autrice préfère se concentrer sur son héros et nous raconter comment il en est arrivé à cette vie de désespoir où même l'arrivée d'une météorite ne le chamboule pas plus que ça. Elle fait donc rapidement un pas de côté et nous narre comment un jeune homosexuel dans le placard va avoir sa première relation et sa première grosse déception, moment funeste et touchant.
Ce n'est donc que dans le seconde moitié qu'une autre histoire se dessine, celle d'un road trip pour aider un jeune croisé sur leur route, qui va être le révélateur de leurs vrais sentiments. Quand on aime les récits de fin du monde, on sait qu'on est souvent confronté à ce type de scénario, il n'y a donc pas de surprise à croiser Masumi et son ex Ritsu sur les routes à aider un petit jeune. C'est même plutôt charmant, de part l'ambiance assez calme du récit, de les voir partir à vélo sur les routes japonaises, chercher des refuges, chercher de quoi manger et boire. On est dans une petite bulle de survie hors du temps et chacun, à part la crevure qu'est Ritsu, est touchant dans sa démarche.
Pour une première avec Maki Marukido, j'ai beaucoup aimé la mise en scène et la mise en page dynamique et riche de celle-ci grâce à un dessin fouillé centré sur les émotions à vif des héros, c'est-à-dire souvent leur chagrin et désespoir. Elle parvient très bien à rendre la désolation moderne de notre monde face à cette catastrophe, mais également le désert émotionnel, égoïste et froid que provoque parfois notre société moderne.
Récit original dans un boys love avec cette fin du monde qui pèse telle une épée de Damoclès au-dessus des héros, voici un diptyque qui change et propose autre chose que les intrigues juste romantiques qu'on a l'habitude de nous proposer. Avec un premier tome bien construit pour nous faire comprendre la solitude des héros, l'autrice prépare une lecture toute en émotion au cours de ces derniers instants à passer ensemble.

Pour une première avec Maki Marukido, j'ai beaucoup aimé la mise en scène et la mise en page dynamique et riche de celle-ci grâce à un dessin fouillé centré sur les émotions à vif des héros, c'est-à-dire souvent leur chagrin et désespoir. Elle parvient très bien à rendre la désolation moderne de notre monde face à cette catastrophe, mais également le désert émotionnel, égoïste et froid que provoque parfois notre société moderne.
Récit original dans un boys love avec cette fin du monde qui pèse telle une épée de Damoclès au-dessus des héros, voici un diptyque qui change et propose autre chose que les intrigues juste romantiques qu'on a l'habitude de nous proposer. Avec un premier tome bien construit pour nous faire comprendre la solitude des héros, l'autrice prépare une lecture toute en émotion au cours de ces derniers instants à passer ensemble.

Encara estic paint aquesta història que m'ha deixat amb un pam de nas. Hi anava a cegues completament i, suposo que per la portada, m'imaginava un BL tendre d'amor slow burn, però no podia estar més equivocada. Es tracta d'un relat preapocalíptic, amb la premissa que en 10 dies un meteorit impactarà contra la Terra i matarà tota la població mundial. El plantejament és pura ciència-ficció, però s'aborda des d'una perspectiva prou versemblant i lògica. M'ha semblat molt curiós veure un cop més les diferències culturals amb el Japó pel que fa a civisme i ordre (casa nostra seria un caos des del minut u ^^'). El protagonista és un oficinista amargat que malviu per culpa de la precarietat que l'envolta i que arrossega un trauma amorós que l'ha fet tancar-se a noves relacions, sigui d'amistat o amoroses. Quan menys s'ho espera es retroba amb el seu ex, que és la viva imatge de l'èxit i l'origen de tots els seus mals, qui li demana un estrany favor . Un relat profund, complex i molt intens que ens parla de depressió, fatiga, manca de rumb a la vida, insatisfacció, suïcidi, fe i esperança, relacions tòxiques, traumes del passat, problemes de comunicació... 100% recomanable!!!

My favorite manga I have read this year. If I said it about another manga, I lied. This is a sad read. If you've ever wondered what having depression is like, this somehow conveys it. It is not a sobbing, overly emotional mess. It's a medium grade hum that is constant. Sometimes it is overwhelming, and sometimes you can ignore it. Will you be happy again? Maybe when the world ends?

Me gusto mucho el dibujo y la historia me pareció bastante original y entretenida, me causo mucho estrés el personaje de Ritsu ya que es bastante egoísta y al final me quedo un sabor amargo con la historia por dicho personaje. Es un idiota total.
