I am a menace to society who takes lives without blinking. I was bred this way by the devil himself, by the man who raised me. When the time comes, I’ll bury him too, but until then, the little starling feeding the birds in the park has my full attention.
With raven-colored hair and disarming eyes capable of infusing oxygen into my dead, cold heart, she’d have the best chance of piecing me back together.
Her efforts will be pointless, though. Because the monster inside me is the strongest of them all, and when he comes out to play, more than her wings will be clipped by his wrath.
Crow is a dark romance about surviving against the odds, and finding love despite this. It has scenes that may be distressing to some readers. Caution is advised
If you enjoyed Haunting/ Hunting Adeline then you’ll for sure enjoy this ! The spice is good and sort of a slow burn but also has a plot that keeps you interested! I’ll be reading the second book as well.
The story is good, but girl please, for the Kindle version, PLEASE remove the footnotes of what you’re going to use for your next cringe worthy TikTok, and for the love of god add character names to the beginning of chapters. This made the book so irritating for me. I’m so sorry but how to expect people to know which POV they’re reading.
Also - when making said TikTok’s, stop calling men who look nothing like your description of Crow, Crow. It’s really… weird.
this was maybe a bit too much for me. if you really like dark romance his might be a good book for you, but personally I didn’t really enjoy this story. I gave it 3 stars because it was written well, but i didn’t really connect with either of the characters. i also want to suggest that people look up trigger warnings before reading
I really wish there was more nuance. I love the tropes—the dark, depraved man who comes to care for the FMC above all logic, the “I’ll find you if it’s the last thing I do”, the “I hate everyone but you”—but I HATED how they were executed. There was a tremendous amount of telling rather than showing and it made it very difficult to read at times without rolling your eyes. I don’t like reading about how the MMC describes himself as so evil and dark and lacking in humanity, I want to SEE it. Also, because this book was dual POV, we could see both thought processes—there is no way the FMC would be intuitive to know what the exact thoughts and feelings of the MMC to the degree which she did. It was another level of cringe and another thing that made the POVs extremely unrealistic.
This book started off as a three stars and slowly went down to two, and then one.
The last like 10% was what bumped it back up to a two, but I just wish this was written in a far more nuanced and effortless way.
That being said, I do have to say I’m curious as to what happens next so I will be picking up book 2.
Crow comes from a very dark and abusive background. He’s a very dark soul who doesn’t see light around him. He has a pet crow named Onyx whom doesn’t approach others or interact with them…. That is until Crow spits Aria is the park feeding the crows in the park. Onyx approaches Aria, and Crow realizes there’s something alluring about her. Crow warns Aria to stay away, but he doesn’t seem to heed his own warnings. Once he realizes the danger she’s in, Crow takes matters into his own hands. He’s determined to keep her safe from his brother Blade, and his father. Aria has other plans, and those don’t go well. I don’t want to spoil what happens. There are definitely triggers in this story, and those needed to taken into account if you read this. It’s definitely a very dark romance. I can’t wait for the continuation of this series!
My first impression of the cover was that it was going to have to do with voodoo, live sacrifices or witchcraft. That is why I put off reading it. Boy was I wrong to wait. I loved the story and the plot. You wrote in a way that exposed evil and darkness but not to the point where it overwhelmed my sensitivities. It is too cruel to have to wait till next year for the follow-up. I wish I could keep reading and reading and reading. The characters Crow and Aria are mature and realistic. I loved them. Even Crow’s two brothers; in the end Blade surprised me when he was emotionally supportive of Crow. I was flabbergasted by the whole story. Congratulations on a superb writing job. Can’t wait for Little Starling. This is a fascinating story and I highly recommend it.
Oh my word!!! This is my 1st book from this author and I am a big fan now. Wow what a story!! I really wasn't sure what I was expecting but I was blown away. The story telling was excellent. It was about Aria and Crow. Both broken. I must warn you this book was hard to read at times because of clips of his child hood and the abuse he went through. I actually sat and cried for him. My heart broke. So glad he found Aria but their love story wasn't simple. You must read this story and experience the love, chemistry and tragedy. In the end he gets redemption but he pushes her away. Arghh, I need more of them and their chemistry. I need to see their HEA. Need book 2 asap. Will Aria manage to win him back or are they doomed? Will he find out if what his evil father said is true?
Crow is a story that will lingers with you. Aria and Crow are a very unlikely pair. Aria is a light. Her life hasn't been the best, but she has a kind heart and soul. Crow has been to hell and came back a monster. He doesn't like people but he is inexplicably drawn to her. It's dangerous but he can't help it. There is a darkness in him that she slowly starts to lighten. Being together is a complete risk for both of them. There have enemies that want to do them harm just because they can. Once you start reading Crow, you won't be able to stop. It's beautifully dark and sad but also shows hope for redemption. I can't wait to read the conclusion.
Crow is a killer, it was how he was raised. Only the strong survive. He is intrigued by Aria, the young woman surrounded by a murder of crows. He has developed an obsessions with watching her. One day Aria realizes she has a watcher. By introducing himself into her life, Crow has put her in danger.
Aria is foolishly brave. A strange man with a crow shows up to the park you go to, alone, in the morning before work, and you thinks it is a good idea to confront him? This false bravado just furthers Crow's obsession with her.
As I mentioned, Crow is a killer and his father and older brother are worse. His father taught him to be the man he is and has to find a way to control Crow. Crow's loyalty is slipping and Crow is ready to take his father out. His father and brother both threaten Aria, causing Crow to abduct her for her own protection. He tries to avoid her, but she is bullhead and won't leave him be. It is during one of their heated confrontations that Crow shoves her to wall and kisses the h€ll out of her. That is it for these two. The scene between them is rough and angry and perfect. This is the only time they hook up, because you know, bad guys.
Crow saves Aria but make a sacrifice to give her a better life. But she is not going to let him tell her what to do remember, bullheaded and foolish, so she vows that they will be together. This is how book one ends.
I liked the stalker aspect of the story and the criminal family history that really comes into play in the last 1/3 of the book. I would call this a slow burn, and I am hoping to see Aria and Crow hook up more in the next book.

Crow is a mystery. A brutal man who has been abuse his whole life. Trained to be a killer. He see Ari in the park feeding birds. He feels her light to his dark soul. He wants her and that is dangerous. They finally meet He comes out of the shadows and all hellllll breaks loose. Crow's whole family is using her as a barging chip to control Crow!!!! All he wants to do is protect her and her lightness. He is falling hard for her and it scares him. Nothing scares him anyway but losing Ari. Everything is scared of him. Read a see how their worlds could come together. Heaven and Helllll. Crow and his little starling can be set free to live.
Crow grows up in a dark world, made into a monster by those who were meant to care, he has no light until he comes across Aria. As shes feeding the birds, his Crow Onyx approaches her, something he's never done to another but him, and that has him intrigued, she should stay away from him, but can he heed his own warnings? Of will others force his hand? Well written the story grabs your attention from the start, the depthndarkness emotions and more swirl around the imagination and that cliffhanger ending has you craving more!
Crow had a really troubled childhood. Aria also didn't have a nice childhood herself. Both find comfort in different things. Crow loves to kill, while Aria loves feeding crows in the park. Crow has a pet crow named Onyx, and through Onyx, he meets Aria one day. Crow finds Aria interesting and can't make himself stay away from her, and that puts Aria in his father's line of sight. Now Crow has to find a way to keep Aria safe from his father and brother. This book is dark but a great read. It also ends in a cliffhanger.
This book was everything I want in a dark romance read. A stalker with a twisted back story. A feisty female too stubborn for her own good. The tension and attraction between crow and aria was epic, I couldn't put this book down. I loved the plot, the side characters. I'm hoping something might come from blade and liv in the future as they seem to be drawn to each other. The abuse that crow suffered was horrific and showed how it had shaped him into the man that took without mercy. Excellent read, straight on to book 2.
While this book started a little slower than I expected, it had me gripping the edge of my seat before the end. Crow and Aria share an amazing connection. His protective instincts when it comes to her is so powerful. There are definitely some heartbreaking moments. I can't wait to see where the next book takes their story.
Definitely be aware of the mention of child abuse and sexual abuse if you have triggers.
Death darkness and danger. This is a tragic story about broken souls damaged by those who are meant to protect. Aria and Crow have the strangest connection. It shouldn't draw them together yet it does. Both of them find themselves in situations that don't seem to have a happy ending. This book was recommended to me, however the cover isn't something would normally interest me. The storyline however was good and would like to read more.
I liked this book although it was a slow read for me. I like a book where there’s a lot of talking between the charters and this book was a lot of in their head chatter to me. It your typical bad boy raised in an abuse life, meets a girl that makes him feel things kinda romance novel. He steals her to keep her safe, stubborn girl runs away and ends up worse off then she was and he saves her. Crows was absurd as a child so be aware that’s in this book.
Was highly disappointed with this one, was barely spicy, a lot more sexual tension at best. I don’t feel much attachment to either characters and will not be reading the other book. Would not recommend if you’re looking for spice, definitely had more plot than I was expecting, but was overall a decent quick read.
He’s a criminal drawn to the beauty in the park where all the birds flock to her. Even his crow cannot resist her. Women serve one purpose fir him and never does he get attached. Except for her, she fascinates him. No good will come from this.
3.5 rounded up This isn't really a mafia or secret society book. But it is definitely outside of the law and very much on the don't talk about fight club side of life. I feel like it was good, but all the books I have been reading lately feel extremely formulaic.
I was not expecting how dark it got or the triggers for some but it was definitely a great read. I love me a good enemies to lovers where he falls and she smoothes out his rough edges. Aria and Crow have an amazing bond and can’t wait to read more
Switches pov’s, but doesn’t tell you whose pov it is. The inner dialogue seemed longer than their conversations. The plot had my full attention though. The cliffhanger is predictable. Overall I don’t regret reading 😊
A rabbit hole psychological thriller that creeps up on you I am still not sure what to think of Crow? Aria, well she leaves me a bit befuddled as well. Both the leading main characters are well written it was easy to connect with them and lose myself in the story The story moves pretty quickly oh and it ends on a "to be continued" - not really a cliff hanger in the sense that you are left hanging by your fingernails in suspense -more like a WTH just happened and why moment?
Crow has had emotion beaten out of him until there is nothing but a dark void that consumes him - one his family feeds (that is a whole twist I am not about to spoil) but Aria's light and innocence somehow manage to crack through. It could be the simple kindness she showed upon his moniker
Aria has a strange sense of being ( I am not sure how else to describe her) She is almost maniac in her motivation. There is a back story to our heroine that we are not yet privy too and I am dying to know why she left originally and came to the city? How she intends to go forward now that she has found her opposing half Even the required absence of something makes it a necessary ingredient for completion You can't have darkness without light and vice versa
She’s fallen for a cold blooded killer. Aria recently moved to get away from her mother and her toxic life. After Aria’s brother got into drugs and was imprisoned, her mother turned to alcohol. Aria works in a publishing house, loves her job, and has made a new friend. Every morning on her way to work she stops at a park and feeds the birds. But one morning she meets a man named Crow who has a pet crow. He’s dark, mysterious, and cold, but she is attracted to him. Meeting him will start her life on a path that will change her life forever. For the good or the bad? He comes with danger and baggage. Can he keep her safe from his psycho family? I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
On a morning – just like every other Aria meets the mysterious Crow. Little did she know this encounter would change her life as she knows it.
This was an incredibly dark story that have me goosebumps on more than one occasion. Filled with plenty of revenge, this story is 100% the good misguided girl falling for the very bad boy.
Aria has her own dark past with family members messing around and hurting her (no one can mess you up like your family right?) and is so drawn to Crow right from the start. She falls in love with him – darkness and all.
This book is the exact reason why I love dark romances. The fact that people from all walks of life still manage to find that person that they are meant for.
Feel like a dark romance with a bit of a kick? Then this one is for you.
