The novel tells the story of a druid, Celtic priest, and bard Lowen, who was born into a period of war that made everything he'd known fall into pieces.

The beginning of the book is very descriptive and lengthy, but once the author starts telling the actual story, the book is a nice read that gives an insight into the life of the "barbaric" tribes while staying entertaining and catchy.
