Después de mentirle a su madre para escabullirse a una fiesta, Gray, una chica de 16 años, está castigada durante 3 semanas y con dos nuevos guardaespaldas para vigilarla siempre que saliera. Su madre es la primera ministra y Gray está confinada en la casa más segura de Londres, el número 10 de Downing Street. Imposible de escapar como también imposible de entrar. Durante una de sus escapadas Gray se entera de un golpe para derrocar a su madre pero, como ella no le cree, Gray debe encontrar su propia manera de salvarla.
El libro está desde el punto de vista de Gray y Julia. 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘆 es la típica protagonista que hace todo lo que le dicen que no haga. Lo que me hizo chillar un poco porque se metía en problemas cada dos por tres. PERO, si lo pienso, si ella hubiese seguido las reglas no habría trama; 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗮 es la nueva guardaespaldas de Gray. Además de ser joven, tiene un pasado misterioso.
Ambas narraciones me parecieron intrigantes y fascinantes, sin embargo, me hubiese gustado que profundizaran más la historia de Julia, ya que nunca explican el pasado de ella, solo nos da a entender que no fue bueno ni agradable.
Por otro lado la ambientación estuvo genial. Estamos en distintos lugares como en el Parlamento, el número 10, en túneles secretos... que me hubiese encantado estar allí y ver todo 👀
Fue una lectura que me encantó. Los capítulos son cortos y siempre termina con ganas de saber más, lo que hizo que fuera una lectura rápida y a la vez atrapante ante tanto misterio por estas amenazas. Y sí, algunas partes eran predecibles y tenía algunos clichés, pero eso no importó mucho porque aun así esta trama engancha enseguida 👌
Así como también es una historia adictiva, con emociones, con giros inesperados y un final que te deja ansiosos por ver que sucederá a continuación.

I couldn't be more excited when I heard about the spinoff series coming! I absolutely love night school. It's one of my favorites series and I've read it more than once.
I fangirled when I saw all the Easter eggs from night school and having the POV of one of the characters I had questions about.
However, I couldn't help to feel somewhat disappointed in the story. I liked it, but I felt that it lacked something, some depth to the story asif it could've been fleshed out more... I understand that it's a possible trilogy, but I just felt that there could've been more...
But, seeing a certain two characters' names and reading about where they ended up, made it all worth it, and I have so many questions! I'll definitely read the sequel!

There are two things I absolutely love - politics and young adult. You can take three guesses why I fell in love with this book instantly.
I have so much to say about Number 10 (and that's why it took me so long to write this review), so get prepared for it.
Number 10 was able to exceed my expectations. The premise of the main character being the daughter of the prime minister intrigued me from the beginning. The idea was well explored throughout the story with different (and often creepy) aspects to it. The pacing throughout the story was very good and there were rarely any moments that felt unnecessary to the story. Some parts were predictable and had some YA clichés, but other parts successfully surprised me.
As always, I enjoyed Daugherty's writing. Like in Night School, it is exciting and full of suspense - especially the cliff-hangers at the end of the the chapters. Throughout the whole book, there is an amazing threatening atmosphere with a kind of danger that is kind of unspecific. No one knows when something is going to happen, but we and the characters know that something will happen.
Like I mentioned above, I love politics. That's why I absolutely loved the more political setting of the story (in contrast to many YA novels). Choosing the Parliament at night as a location was such an exciting idea. I enjoyed that we had not this typically "all politicians are bad" which we often have in YA books but a more differentiated picture. I found it realistic as well that there was a huge conflict around the migration law and it made the book even more exciting for me (I secretly wished for more politics but, you know, not everyone is interested in it like me).
Gray was an interesting main character, and I could understand the way she acted most of the time. At some moments though, I got mad at her because her behaviour seemed irrational to me. But well, she's still a teenager and this is how they act. Because we are in the Night School universe, I enjoyed thinking about how Allie would react in certain moments and I concluded that her and Gray are different from each other but have some parallels.
I don't know what I should think about Jake. I was not sure at the beginning if we can trust him and it seemed that . He is an interesting character and I'm curious if we will get to know him more in the next book.
From the beginning, I liked Julia and her chapters were a really good addition. Her perspective gave the book a more adult view of the things happening.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I noticed a slightly feminist undertone in the story. I love that it's actually Gray's mom that is the prime minister and that she was able to get in this position, even though not all men in her party were happy about it. Also, LGBT is mentioned when we get to know that . Though as far as I can remember, there were not many diverse characters - I can't think of one besides but maybe I overlooked a description or something.
Because we are in the Night School universe, there were many references to it which made the story even better:

Tenía muchas ganas de leer a la autora pues tengo desde hace tiempo su saga “Night School” pendiente, pero he preferido darle una oportunidad a esta nueva historia porque la saga es demasiado larga y aún no la tengo completa, además se ambientan en el mismo mundo y me venía perfecto para conocer el mundo y así asentar bases, pero ya os aviso de que podéis leerlo sin problema porque solo tiene menciones a la academia.
Es un libro con un ritmo pausado y una trama sencilla pero adictiva a pesar de que se toma todo con bastante calma, no obstante, cuenta con ese toque que hace que no sueltes la novela. Es un thriller juvenil político, con mucho drama familiar, espionaje y amenazas, secretos, amistad y amor. Está bastante bien equilibrado e hilado, pero lo cierto es que aunque te mantiene en tensión es un libro bastante descriptivo, con algunas cosas repetitivas y con un final que te deja con la miel en los labios y mil preguntas sin resolver. En ese aspecto me ha dejado insatisfecha y espero de verdad que tenga segunda parte y cierre todo porque no puede quedarse de esta manera.
La pluma de la autora, la ambientación y la atmósfera me han gustado, los personajes son planos, exceptuando a Gray los demás son interesantes, pero no se les explota como es debido.

To say I was excited about reading this book would be the understatement of the year! Night School is one of my favourite, if not absolute favourite series, so to get a new book set within that world - my brain cannot compute, it's going into overdrive with anticipation! (Just to put my crazy in perspective, the French translation came out months before the English did, so I was going to buy the French book, even though I can't read French. Anyway, moving on...) Now after reading it I'm even more obsessed, it was freaking awesome!
After lying to her mum to sneak out to a party, Gray Langtry is grounded for 3 weeks. But Gray is no ordinary teenager; her mum is the Prime Minister, and Gray is housebound in the safest house in London, Number 10 Downing Street. Impossible to get in also means impossible to escape. After discovering Number 10s labyrinth of underground tunnels, Gray finds an alternate way out of the building, into somewhere else extremely important. It's here that she overhears of a coup to overthrow her mother, by any means possible. Her mother doesn't believe her so Gray must find her own way to save her mum.
The intensity throughout the book did not let up. I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through, wondering what was going to happen, and shouting at Gray's mum, SHE'S TELLING THE TRUTH! The plot itself is fast-paced and, like Night School, it always seems to be left to the kids to save the world. Gray is a bad-ass mc. She's a lot like Allie (mc from Night School) in that she's rebellious, impulsive, curious, and is just trying to have a semi-normal life. The similarities are quite stark, but I don't really care because it's the type of person Gray needs to be to pull off the plot in this book. It also makes her heaps of fun to read about - if she sat in her room obeying the rules, there'd be no plot. It also doesn't help that all the adults in her life have lied to her, so she is forced to sleuth on her own.
After reading this I've decided that I wouldn't mind living in the Prime Minister's quarters. I have no interest in politics in real life, but as soon as there's a book set around the personal and daily lives of major politicians (hello Number 10 / Red, White and Royal Blue), sign me the heck up! It's so thrilling and makes me want to discover the long forgotten secrets of the old parliament buildings.
If you've read Night School, then there's also a few characters that you'll remember, and it's exciting to see them after they left Cimmeria. And at the very end I almost squealed when two of my fave characters made a reappearance!!!
Now I've got to wait until the next book comes out and I don't have the patience for that!!!

Als ich vor kurzem entdeckt habe, dass dieses Buch auf dem Markt ist. War klar, dass ich es lesen muss.
Mir hat die Night School Reihe damals unglaublich gut gefallen und yeah, ich freu mich darauf zurückzukehren.
Auch wer die Reihe davor nicht kennt, kann hier völlig problemlos einsteigen.
In diesem Buch geht es um Gray, ein junges Mädchen, dass ihren eigenen Kopf hat und sich dadurch in so manch prekäre Situation hineinmanövriert.
Gray ist kein normales junges Mädchen. Sie ist die Tochter der Premierministerin und damit kommen die Steine gewaltig ins Rollen.
Mit Gray hat die Autorin eine verdammt gute Protagonistin erschaffen, die sich durchbeißt und nicht eher still hält, bevor sie am Ziel ist.
Aber auch Jake und Julia haben mir unsagbar gut gefallen
Sie sind mit Authentizität, Lebendigkeit und einem hohen Maß an Menschlichkeit gefüllt.
Wir erfahren hierbei die Perspektiven von Gray und Julia. Was mir unsagbar gut gefallen hat. Nicht nur weil es Tiefe erzeugt, sondern weil man dadurch auch beide Seiten beleuchten kann.
Dank dem leichten und verdammt fesselnden Schreibstil der Autorin bin ich sofort sehr gut in die Story hineingekommen.
Gray ging mir sofort unter die Haut.
Ihre Verletzlichkeit, ihre Unschuld und ihre Dickköpfigkeit. Ich konnte mich wahnsinnig gut in sie hineinversetzen, ihre Ängste, ihren Schmerz und ihre Verzweiflung spüren.
Sie strömt etwas aus, dass man sofort beschützen möchte.
Doch hier geht es um so viel mehr, als man mit Augen erfassen, geschweige denn verstehen kann.
Hier wird eine Lawine losgetreten, von der man nicht erfassen kann, wo sie enden wird.
Die Autor wartet nicht nur mit einer sehr temporeichen und gut durchdachten Story auf.
Sie geht mit sehr viel Feingefühl zu Werke, wodurch sich die Emotionalität noch mehr verstärkt und man keine andere Wahl hat, als unbändig mitzuzittern.
Tatsächlich hat mich der Verlauf nicht allzu sehr überrascht.
Aber sie versteht es, an genau den richtigen Stellen Wendungen einzuweben, die dem Ganzen nochmal eine völlig neue Dimension und Dramatik verleihen.
Auch im zwischenmenschlichen Bereich gibt sie einiges mit auf dem Weg.
Es hat mich erschüttert, wie tief der Graben bereits ist. Da spricht so viel Wut und Hilflosigkeit heraus, dass es automatisch zum nachdenken bringt.
Viele Geheimnisse, noch mehr Gefahren und Bodyguards, die völlig an ihre Grenzen kommen.
Das letzte Drittel hätte meines Erachtens noch intensiver ausgearbeitet werden können. Um die ganze Dramatik und Tragik noch besser spüren zu können.
Dennoch schafft es die Autorin, mit beklemmenden Details zur Nachdenklichkeit zu verdammen.
Definitiv ein gewaltiger Auftakt, der mich absolut unter Strom gestellt hat.
Fazit:
Back to Night School.
C.J. Daugherty bringt mit “Number 10” einen verdammt genialen, emotionalen und temporeichen Auftakt ihrer neuen Reihe an den Start.
Ich bin begeistert, denn hier stechen vor allem die unglaublich gut ausgearbeiteten Charaktere und ihre Entwicklung heraus.
Viele Geheimnisse, noch mehr Gefahren und Bodyguards ,die schnell an ihre Grenzen stoßen.
Ein Auftakt, der nicht nur emotional mitreißt, sondern auch zum nachdenken bringt und eine Fülle an Schmerz und Hilflosigkeit auslöst.
Unbedingt mehr davon

In diesem Buch geht es um Gray, ein junges Mädchen, dass ihren eigenen Kopf hat und sich dadurch in so manch prekäre Situation hineinmanövriert.
Gray ist kein normales junges Mädchen. Sie ist die Tochter der Premierministerin und damit kommen die Steine gewaltig ins Rollen.
Mit Gray hat die Autorin eine verdammt gute Protagonistin erschaffen, die sich durchbeißt und nicht eher still hält, bevor sie am Ziel ist.
Aber auch Jake und Julia haben mir unsagbar gut gefallen
Sie sind mit Authentizität, Lebendigkeit und einem hohen Maß an Menschlichkeit gefüllt.
Wir erfahren hierbei die Perspektiven von Gray und Julia. Was mir unsagbar gut gefallen hat. Nicht nur weil es Tiefe erzeugt, sondern weil man dadurch auch beide Seiten beleuchten kann.
Dank dem leichten und verdammt fesselnden Schreibstil der Autorin bin ich sofort sehr gut in die Story hineingekommen.
Gray ging mir sofort unter die Haut.
Ihre Verletzlichkeit, ihre Unschuld und ihre Dickköpfigkeit. Ich konnte mich wahnsinnig gut in sie hineinversetzen, ihre Ängste, ihren Schmerz und ihre Verzweiflung spüren.
Sie strömt etwas aus, dass man sofort beschützen möchte.
Doch hier geht es um so viel mehr, als man mit Augen erfassen, geschweige denn verstehen kann.
Hier wird eine Lawine losgetreten, von der man nicht erfassen kann, wo sie enden wird.
Die Autor wartet nicht nur mit einer sehr temporeichen und gut durchdachten Story auf.
Sie geht mit sehr viel Feingefühl zu Werke, wodurch sich die Emotionalität noch mehr verstärkt und man keine andere Wahl hat, als unbändig mitzuzittern.
Tatsächlich hat mich der Verlauf nicht allzu sehr überrascht.
Aber sie versteht es, an genau den richtigen Stellen Wendungen einzuweben, die dem Ganzen nochmal eine völlig neue Dimension und Dramatik verleihen.
Auch im zwischenmenschlichen Bereich gibt sie einiges mit auf dem Weg.
Es hat mich erschüttert, wie tief der Graben bereits ist. Da spricht so viel Wut und Hilflosigkeit heraus, dass es automatisch zum nachdenken bringt.
Viele Geheimnisse, noch mehr Gefahren und Bodyguards, die völlig an ihre Grenzen kommen.
Das letzte Drittel hätte meines Erachtens noch intensiver ausgearbeitet werden können. Um die ganze Dramatik und Tragik noch besser spüren zu können.
Dennoch schafft es die Autorin, mit beklemmenden Details zur Nachdenklichkeit zu verdammen.
Definitiv ein gewaltiger Auftakt, der mich absolut unter Strom gestellt hat.

Back to Night School.
C.J. Daugherty bringt mit “Number 10” einen verdammt genialen, emotionalen und temporeichen Auftakt ihrer neuen Reihe an den Start.
Ich bin begeistert, denn hier stechen vor allem die unglaublich gut ausgearbeiteten Charaktere und ihre Entwicklung heraus.
Viele Geheimnisse, noch mehr Gefahren und Bodyguards ,die schnell an ihre Grenzen stoßen.
Ein Auftakt, der nicht nur emotional mitreißt, sondern auch zum nachdenken bringt und eine Fülle an Schmerz und Hilflosigkeit auslöst.

I have read the author’s previous crime novels and I love her captivating and fluid writing style and her gripping stories, but this is my first of her YA novels and I am happy to say that I really enjoyed it. Gray is a likable and authentic heroine. She wants to be a typical teenager, but she can’t, although her relationship with her mother is typical of every teenager (meaning a lot of screaming and “you don’t understand me”). When she realizes that all the adults in her life are keeping secrets from her, she decides to find out the truth on her own and that truth is more dangerous than she thought, but she is ready to do anything to protect her mother.
Number 10 is a brilliant and thrilling story with intriguing characters, unexpected twists, and an ending that leaves you eager to see what happen next.

Thriller juvenil en el cual la hija de la primera ministra del RU tendrá que desentrañar un complot para asesinarlas tanto a ella como a su madre.
Lo primero que tengo que decir de este libro es que no podía soltarlo. Me lo leí en un par de días porque me pareció adictivo. Los capítulos son cortos y muy dinámicos, no se para en detalles innecesarios y consigue enganchar al lector de una forma magistral. Solo quería seguir con el siguiente capítulo una vez terminaba el que estaba leyendo y en este aspecto, le doy un sobresaliente.
La trama es bastante juvenil, he echado un poco en falta que a la protagonista le salieran las cosas mal o encontrar pistas falsas que llevaran a un callejón sin salida. Pero aún así ha sido bastante entretenido. Me ha gustado, que, además de centrarse en la trama de "misterio" también dedicara tiempo a la relación entre madre e hija así cómo a explicar cómo puede sentirse una persona que de la noche a la mañana se vuelve el centro de atención de todo un país sin desearlo. Este punto me ha parecido muy interesante.
La autora tiene otra saga de libros "Cimmeria Academy" y este libro está relacionado con ella aunque se puede leer sin problema sin tener idea de los acontecimientos previos. Yo lo he hecho y no he tenido ninguna laguna.
Pensaba que este libro era autoconclusivo, sin embargo al terminarlo y ver la relación con la otra saga ya no lo tengo tan claro. También porque encuentro que hay algunos cabos sueltos que se han dejado sin atar y espero que se aclaren en algún otro volumen que sin duda, leería ávidamente.
Recomiendo este libro para cualquier persona que se quiera adentrar por primera vez en un thriller juvenil porque de verdad, no lo podréis soltar.

So I managed to demolish this book in just over 4 hours. I don’t normally like politics but this book was amazing! I loved hearing about Gray taking the secret tunnels and ending up in the House of Commons. This 16 year old was not living an easy life with her mother as a prime minister but what happens in this story keeps you hooked the whole way through. Please tell me there’s going to be another book to this?

This is the first book in a new Series and I'm super excited.
I loved the Night School books and getting a new Series in the "same" setting has me all hyped up.
This book is definitely for younger ya readers and is writtenas such, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I liked the pacing, the plot was somewhat predictable (at least for me) but it didn't take any of the enjoyment away.
I liked the fact that this YA book wasn't lowkey a romance YA. Yeah, there was a boy, but the focus was on friendship and our girl Gray was a hands on heroine.
Grays Bodyguard situation had me suspicious and I guessed right. When the "true identity" of one of the bodyguards was revealed, I squealed 😅.
And don't get me started on the ending 🎉
Definitely hyped for the next book in the series.

The only thing I have to say is that it was wayyyyy to short!!! I'm disappointed by the final fight scene in Oxford, given that the planned assassination was such a big part of the novel, but it barely lasted 5 pages. The night school series is deep in my heart and I remember loving the thrill of the fighting scenes, that's why I'm a bit disappointed. I cannot wait to (hopefully) read more about Jake and Chloe and their relationship with Gray, but I'm also looking forward to meeting new characters, now that Gray is at Cimmeria WHICH IS SO EXCITING OH MY GOD. And the last page?? The last LINE. I cannot explain what I felt reading that.

This is the first novel I have read by C.J Daugherty and it's a really good one, I'd absolutely want to read more by her. It tackles the way that teenagers are not listened to or presumed not to have anything worth saying and often have to take on adult roles before they are emotionally equipped to deal with this.
Gray has the focus of the world upon her as the daughter of the Prime Minister-a job she had begged her mother not to take until after she has finished her education-and struggles to balance a public and private life.
Opening with a club scene where she has pulled the oldest trick in the teen handbook-saying she is at her best friend's house whilst she says she is with Gray-and is desperate to be seen as just one of the gang. Except she can't, and when she sees her friend Chloe being eyed up by unsavoury men, she rushes to get the two of them out of there and is caught by paparazzi outside the club. It would seem like no big deal, but a)the pics of the P.M's daughter puking into a pot plant are reminiscent of Prince Harry's public faux pas, and b)it screams of a set up as the owner of the club is the father of a school friend.
Added to this, her humiliation is witnessed by her nemesis/love interest Jake McIntyre -son of the leader of the opposition party-so when her mother, Julia, tells her she cannot be as reckless as this anymore, it is just fuel to the flames of her anger. It is only when serious threats against her begin appearing , that the idea of being used to get to her mother actually begins to sink in.
Her new security detail is suffocating, so she explores the lower levels of Number 10, finding secret tunnels and accidentally overhearing a plot to replace her mother with a more Russian friendly premier...but who can she trust enough to tell? And who will believe her?
Shot theough with menace tension and plot twists, this is an engaging story which will appeal to older teens in my humble opinion. I read the English version of this novel, which will be updated as soon as it is available.

I would absolutely recommend this book to anybody who likes action-packed and adventurous novels. The book follows Gray Langtry, the Prime Minister’s daughter, as she tries to uncover a secret Russian plot who’s aim is to remove her mother from power and to kill Gray. This novel gripped me from the start to the finish and I was so eager to discover the outcome of the book. I really hope Daugherty publishes a follow up novel.

Being a teenager is never an easy period, not for the youngsters nor for the parents, imagine if you are the daughter of the British Prime Minister, it will be hell, let’s be honest!
I’ll admit that I read this book in one stand, I couldn’t put it down, it was not difficult to discover who was the bad of the story, but I was curious to know how they would expose everything and how Gray wouls keep her mother safe, really addictive!
The story is told from the Gray perspective, you only see drops of her mother (who I didn’t like much) and some memories of her father (who seems to be traveling all the time). So when Gray is grounded and has to spend 3 weeks closed at Number 10, it didn’t surprise me that she started to investigate why everyone was keeping her in the dark and what was really happening with her mother, if everyone lied to her, she needed to find the truth by herself, don’t you think?
I didn’t like much the adult characters of the story, only Gray’s bodyguard, Julia, the only one who really wants to tell her the truth, treats her like an adult and believes in her; really, Gray’s parents need to improve a lot! There’s one thing that I didn’t like much of the story, the ending, I need to read the second book of the story right now, it seems more interesting even than this book! The plot is closed, but it seems that Gray’s adventure has not ended…Ready to enter “Number 10”?

Ein nicht ungefährlicher Ausflug!
Gray versucht stetig auszubrechen, denn sie kommt sich in der Downing Street gefangen vor, seit ihre Mutter Premierministerin von Großbritannien ist.
Gefangen zwischen Regeln und Bodyguards die sie bewachen. Dabei will Gray nur ein normales Leben führen. Ganz normal auf Partys gehen und sich vielleicht in einen Jungen verlieben. Aber davon ist sie weit entfernt. Denn die Sicherheitsmassnahmen nehmen zu, nachdem Gray mehr als einmal in Gefahr gerät und die Reporter immer heißer auf eine Story um die 16-jährige Schülerin werden.
Dabei erfährt Gray durch Zufall das ein Mordkomplott auf ihre Mutter geplant ist. Das Problem, keiner glaubt ihr und so greift Gray selbst zu einem riskanten Plan.

Ich lieb diesen Einstieg in Grays Leben.
Hier lernt man die 16-jährige Schülerin Gray kennen, die sich mitten in einer gefährlichen politischen Ausgangssituation befindet, da sie die Tochter der Premierministerin ist.
Ausgerechnet die Premierministerin ist in großer Gefahr, da sie viele politische Gegner hat.
Gray ist da natürlich auch klar eine Zielscheibe die man sich zunutze machen will. Von all dem ahnt Gray zu Anfang aber noch nichts und denkt das es absolut übertrieben ist als Tochter einer Premieministerin so extrem überwacht zu werden.
Hier gefällt mir der Einstieg von dem noch unwissenden Mädchen, das sich im Laufe der Story entwickelt und merkt, dass es mehr gibt als ein normales Leben zu führen. Hier gefällt mir auch die Sichtweise von Julia, die Grays Bodyguard spielen soll und sich mit ihr anfreundet.
Sehr cool, vor allem wenn man weiß welches Internat hier ins Spiel kommt um Gray zu schützen.
Die Protagonisten sind hervorragend in Szene gesetzt und vor allem sehr gut ausgearbeitet mit ihrer sehr interessanten Charakteristika
Dazu ein Setting das Neugierig macht und nach mehr verlangt. So hibbel ich jetzt Band zwei entgegen.

זה ספר המשך מהטרילוגיה של תיכון לילה, קראתי אותה לפני איזה שנתיים.
אם אהבתם תיכון לילה תקראו אותו היה קצת דמויות ובסוף הספר הזה התחבר ממש לתיכון הלילה הראשונים.
הספר היה סבבה ומעניין, לא כל כך אהבתי את הדמות הראשית אבל זה כנראה הבעיה בי, אני אקרא את המשך בהזדמנות.
הוא לא בין הספרים הכי טובים ואני אקרא אשכח אותו בקרוב אבל היה נחמד לחזור לכתיבה ולעולם של תיכון לילה שהייתה בין הסדרות ספרים הראשונות שקראתי

El número 10 de Downing Street nos traslada hasta Londres donde Gray vive con su madre quien se ha convertido en la primera ministra de Inglaterra. La sobreprotección con la rebeldía de la adolescencia no casan muy bien y menos cuando tienes a toda la prensa detrás por lo que la relación de nuestra protagonista con la de su madre no es de las mejores. Hasta que un grupo de terroristas amenaza sus vidas....
347 páginas divididas en 45 capítulos más un epílogo de extensión más o menos corta y con un ritmo tanto de lectura como argumental bastante ágil nos mete en una trama adictiva que conseguirá engancharnos desde el minuto uno.
Es la primera vez que leo a C.J. Daugherty, a pesar de tener su anterior saga Night School super pendiente desde hace años, y aunque aparentemente este libro está basado en el mismo mundo ya os digo que lo podéis leer sin problemas a perderos nada. Lo único que, si como yo, ya le teníais ganas ahora vais a querer leerla sí o sí jeje
La pluma de la autora me ha parecido muy acertada, si que es cierto que en algún momento tiende hacerse un poco repetitivo pero por lo general, sin la necesidad de usar grandes y complejas descripciones es capaz de que visualicemos muy bien cada escena y nos metamos de lleno en la historia.
Narrado en tercera persona vamos siguiendo el punto de vista tanto de Gray, una adolescente propia de la edad que tiene sin ningún tipo de sensación de peligro por lo que tiende a desesperar un poco.
Otro personaje a destacar es su guardaespaldas Julia, un personaje leal, fuerte, decida y valiente ha sido quizá el que más me ha gustado y me he quedado con mucha curiosidad por seguir ahondando en su historia.
La ambientación me ha parecido maravillosa, de lo mejorcito de este thriller. C.J. Daugherty nos traslada de lleno hasta el Londres subterráneo rodeado de una atmósfera sobrecogedora que será lo que nos mantenga en tensión constante.
En cuanto al final me ha parecido lo más flojillo de la historia. Si que es cierto que nos cierra como la trama principal pero aún así nos deja algunos cabos abiertos quizá dejando una puerta abierta hacia una segunda parte...
347 páginas divididas en 45 capítulos más un epílogo de extensión más o menos corta y con un ritmo tanto de lectura como argumental bastante ágil nos mete en una trama adictiva que conseguirá engancharnos desde el minuto uno.
Es la primera vez que leo a C.J. Daugherty, a pesar de tener su anterior saga Night School super pendiente desde hace años, y aunque aparentemente este libro está basado en el mismo mundo ya os digo que lo podéis leer sin problemas a perderos nada. Lo único que, si como yo, ya le teníais ganas ahora vais a querer leerla sí o sí jeje
La pluma de la autora me ha parecido muy acertada, si que es cierto que en algún momento tiende hacerse un poco repetitivo pero por lo general, sin la necesidad de usar grandes y complejas descripciones es capaz de que visualicemos muy bien cada escena y nos metamos de lleno en la historia.
Narrado en tercera persona vamos siguiendo el punto de vista tanto de Gray, una adolescente propia de la edad que tiene sin ningún tipo de sensación de peligro por lo que tiende a desesperar un poco.
Otro personaje a destacar es su guardaespaldas Julia, un personaje leal, fuerte, decida y valiente ha sido quizá el que más me ha gustado y me he quedado con mucha curiosidad por seguir ahondando en su historia.
La ambientación me ha parecido maravillosa, de lo mejorcito de este thriller. C.J. Daugherty nos traslada de lleno hasta el Londres subterráneo rodeado de una atmósfera sobrecogedora que será lo que nos mantenga en tensión constante.

La historia se centra en Gray, la hija de la nueva primera ministra del Reino Unido. Ella es una adolescente de 16 años que lo único que quiere es tener una vida normal, lejos de los flashes de las cámaras de los periodistas y de las personas que la persiguen como si fuera una celebridad.
Luego de haber sido vista por la prensa a la salida de una fiesta, su madre toma medidas drásticas y la deja castigada y a cargo de dos nuevos guardaespaldas. Solo tiene permitido ir al instituto y volver al interior de las cuatro paredes del enigmático número 10. Sus guardaespaldas le explican sobre la terrible amenaza que busca eliminar a su madre y si es necesario, a ella. Es acá en donde comienza la aventura secreta de Gray para lograr salvar a su madre, a sí misma y a su país. Una aventura que involucra salidas a escondidas y mentiras.
Si bien no es EL thriller juvenil es una muy buena opción para tener en cuenta. Es una lectura que atrapa desde la primera página hasta la última, los capítulos son cortos y con descripciones concisas de los escenarios que nos permiten adentrarnos aún más en la historia.
Los personajes me gustaron muchísimo. Llegó un punto en el que desconfié de varios de ellos porque no sabía quién podía estar detrás de todo el asunto de la amenaza. En cuanto a esto último tengo que admitir que el final me dejó con más dudas que certezas así que espero que haya una segunda parte porque necesito respuestas.
Algo que me hubiese gustado encontrar es un poco más de desarrollo en ciertos personajes, de Julia por ejemplo (una de sus guardaespaldas). Ella es una joven con un pasado bastante misterioso y del que descubrimos muy pocos detalles así que sería genial poder conocer más sobre este personaje tan intrigante.
Por otra parte, mi lado fangirl estuvo más que feliz de encontrar una sutil dosis de romance en esta historia.
Este libro es perfecto para salir de la rutina y de un bloqueo lector. Una historia que no vas a querer soltar hasta terminarla y que te va a dejar con ganas de más.

Meh, bin teils relativ enttäuscht. Wie gesagt, sind mir die Charaktere, allein die Beschreibung ihres Aussehens, als auch die Story an sich zu ähnlich zu der NIght School Reihe, wobei diese Reihe eigentlich eine Spin Off Trilogie sein sollte. Außerdem fand ich den Plot nicht richtig ansprechend, vermutlich weil es für mich zu sehr YA ist und das Mädchen sich halt echt 90% der Zeit nur mit ihrer Mutter streitet oder auf irgendwelche dumme, unrealistische Ideen kommt. Ich habe dennoch auch den zweiten Teil bestellt, vor allem, weil erst auf der allerletzten Seite dieses verdammten Buches die Charaktere von damals vorkommen, für die ich es überhaupt lese. Naja was soll’s, zumindest ließ es sich leicht und schnell lesen und war an manchen Stellen auch etwas emotional.

Comme d'habitude, un énorme coup de coeur pour le livre de C.J. Daugherty.
Une suite à la saga Night School qui lui fait totalement honneur, mettant en avant de nombreux personnages de la première saga ! Une fin vraiment INCROYABLE.
Bien que je n'ai jamais lu de livre anglais, le tome 2 sera le premier que je vais me procurer !!!

2.5 que parece 3.
Esto solo me parece Night School 2.0 con una peor protagonista. Y eso que ni siquiera terminé la saga de Night School. A veces uno piensa que no puede ser peor, pero claro que se puede.
¿Y saben qué es lo peor de todo? Le tengo el suficiente cariño a Cimeria (todavía) como para querer saber qué pasa. 🙄
