About the author

Zuri Day

106 books275 followers
Zuri Day is a hopeful romantic. She believes in happy endings, half-full glasses and dreams coming true. That's why she's thrilled to be a contributing writer to this genre...one of her favorites!

Zuri doesn't remember exactly how old she was when she picked up her first romance novel, but she does remember it was love at first sight. "It was probably a Harlequin," she recalled during a recent interview. "And it thankfully took me away from a fairly dull and routine existence growing up in a small Kansas town."

Things aren't dull and routine anymore. Zuri now resides in Los Angeles with her family and when she isn't writing loves to travel the world, cook vegetarian food, work out, watch sports, attend concerts and theatre and enjoy the simple things in life.

"Many people have given up on love, much less romance," Zuri says. "I'm hoping that somehow, through the love-filled pages of my romance novels, I can ignite the reader's desire to believe again. Because everything is possible, when we believe..."

Ugh…. So boring 🙄 and oh.. the title is very misleading, there wasn’t any rival here. One would think there would be some serious angst with that title, which was the reason I picked this up but nope. I’m very disappointed 😔

Maeve can't resist the sexy Victor Cortez who is the lawyer for the people currently suing her family's company.

I loved the banter in this one. It took awhile to get to the one bed, snowed in romance part but it was a good time a long the way. The chemistry was undeniable. I liked that this book embraced the wealth with the Costa Rican mansion getaway, private jets, fancy family estates, lavish parties, etc. Readers who want to read about Black wealthy characters who feel wealthy will like that.

More Than Rivals!!

It appears that Victor and Maeve hit it off from the start. They were both excellent attorneys. Too bad they were opposing counsel. Maeve didn’t think she would ever fall in love again after Lionel. Victor was a playboy from Costa Rica. He didn’t think he would ever fall in love because his father told him to never trust a woman. However, these two couldn’t stay away from each other. I just wish that it would have ended differently! I need more from these two!! I loved this couple. I hope to read more about them in the next book of the series! Thank you Zuri!! ❤️🔥

This was an exceptional and amazing love story.
I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and the entire theme of the book.
I think it is well written and I loved the way the main characters Victor and Maeve are thrown together.
I enjoyed how their unexpected relationship began and how it ends.
On to the next book in this series.
The only downside in my opinion is the title, which really is quite misleading.
The title lead me to believe there would be another person involved in this story, but it actually was not.

Two former classmates are on opposing teams for a lawsuit. Maeve Eddington the lawyer for a lawsuit and Victor Cortez was the opposing lawyer. I enjoyed reading the story. The only thing I did not care for was how her former fiancé' Lionel thought he could just show up and act like he had not just sent her a text to end their relationship when they were younger. I could not believe she had to think about. She should have kicked him to the curb as soon as he brought it up.

Spicy!!! Maeve and Victor were attracted to each other from the first meet. Being on opposite sides of a case they were working on didn't stop them from giving into their feelings. I'm glad they didn't fight the attraction for long. Although Maeve's ex love Lionel returns pleading his case to get her back after breaking her heart Maeve decides she wants to move forward with Victor and not look back to the past. Great read can't wait for Reign and Jake's story!

Law of Love

Entertaining, lovable story of Attorneys Maeve Eddington and Victor Cortez battle for a relationship from opposing ends of a courtroom. The romance is filled with romantic moments and scenery that gives you perfect imagery while reading. Wonderful wintery cuddle book.

Two rivals

Maeve and victor were great. Rival in the same profession make for a a good fight. Love or romance may make it difficult to stay neutral. These two found a way to their joy and love both.

something was missing in this one.

I loved the previous book. I wanted to know what made Maeve tick. This book had potential but felt rushed. The characters could’ve had more depth. The end was abrupt and unsatisfying.

Good romance✍🏾

The author serves characters who ignites a blaze then thrash stirring the embers and blazes to a firestorm. As fiction goes, the sky is the limit. The characters were good, and the writing was typically good as usual for the author.

This book was a drag for me. I had to push myself to finish. The title is misleading. I wouldn't call them rivals & this is not a snowed in romance. Very disappointing.

Not bad

This book was pretty good. There were a few twists and turns in the story that kept me engaged. I would have to know what happened with the case they were working on.

Nice

Enjoyed the Mauve and Victor’s love of coming together. Two Rivals exactly, in and out of the courtroom. Love this author. Zuri Day did it again.
