A Lassiter Wedding #3

A Family Affair

Rate this book
With the quiet ones, expect the UNEXPECTED...
Sexy high-school teacher Matthew Lassiter has found the woman of his dreams. She loves and understands his desire for the simple life of mentoring teens. The larger-than-life siblings who surround him excel in just about everything they do. While that is financially beneficial for them, his choice to teach is not as profitable. When the opportunity for a different career is put on the table, planning a life with Leah has Matt questioning his decision.

Leah Saxton is beautiful, loving, a computer engineer, and one hell of a cook. Meeting Matthew Lassiter was the best thing to ever happen to her. The attraction was immediate, the lovemaking off the freakin’ chart and fine…. the word does not describe the man who has stolen her heart. Hell, the man even encourages her to start her own business at a difficult time in her life. Now, the two are on their way to marital bliss.

The problem, you ask? Simply put, her father… period. He is an egotistical, chauvinistic, and ungrateful, to put it nicely. Her father is a man filled with anger from both a failed marriage and business. To his way of thinking, no one deserves to be happy. He is hell-bent on ruining her wedding, her life, and any future she may have with Matt.

Will Matt and Leah make it to the alter without ending up with an attempted murder charge???? Only the attendees will know for sure as they witness the antics of A Family Affair.

Well I have finished all of the Lassiter Wedding series and it was so great, especially just to revisit with the other siblings from earlier books.

So Coach Hottie aka Matthew and Leah are getting hitched. As much as the would love for it to go off smoothly, because bitter people will always try to sabotage happiness and Leah's father Lyle is that person.

Leah's mom and her husband fly in for the wedding (and honestly I would love a story about how these two meet because their chemistry is off the charts LOL!). Zelda comes for her daughter's wedding and her bitter ex-husband Lyle tries to sue her for emotional distress. You will have to read the story, it's hilarious.

The side stories are really well done, it doesn't overshadow, Matt and Leah's which allows us to fully enjoy their happiness to wed.

This was a great 4 story series of the Lassiter Weddings and as I stated before the side stories are definitely set ups one which stems back from President JD Harris (Hearts United, The Re-Election) and Nate Reigns (The Aftermath).

If you haven't read anything by author Iris Bolling, I definitely implore you too because she is fire!!!

Well Until My Next Review...Ciao!

Those Lassiters protect their own

I love Matt and Leah. I love all the Lassiters! Joe don’t have play about Sally either!! Leah’s dad is just as bad as Blake’s mom smh! Miserable folks!! I hope Adam creates something special just for miserable folks. I’m also glad Brenda seems to be getting her mind right because the way she was treating Leah was skept! Carter stepped up like a big brother should and Matt was serious about no one disrespecting his Queen! The power and sense of family and community is what I love about those Lassiter’s. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

This was good. And honestly very juicy! Lol Talk about family dysfunctions. Even rich folks got some mess stirring around ready to tip over. Now I need to find me a Lassiter man.. cousin.. uncle.. I wont be picky 🥰🤣

Good reading

This is my first reading of Iris Bolling. Interesting story. This story had it all, comedy, romance, a living family and a dysfunctional family. Matt and Leah's love story was beautiful. Matt showed himself to be a strong and protected man because of Leah's father and his meanness towards Leah. Zelda, Leah's mother, didn't fear her ex which is Leah's father and laughed at the summon that was presented to her to keep her from their wedding. Will Matt and Leah have a peaceful wedding or will there be chose there?

Get ready for another outstanding story from the inimitable Iris Bolling and her Lassiter Clan. Heading the line-up of this intriguing story are Matthew Adonis Lassiter and his lovely mate, Leah Saxton. Leah brings with her a family that puts the “Dy’s” in Dysfunctional, and the cause of it all is her father, the despicable, Lyle Saxton. Leah’s mother, Zelda, is a ray of sunshine compared to Lyle. As a matter of fact Zelda & Sally, the matriarch of the Lassiters, become fast friends.

The wedding plans are in full force, and so are the Lassiter sibs and their spouses. This group of resourceful, fast-thinking, fast acting and beautiful people are determined not to allow anyone or anything to spoil the festivities. They don’t play, as Lyle Saxton finds out. That courtroom scene is off-the-chain! Just wait until you read it! As if that wasn’t enough, Lyle makes the mistake of putting his hands on Sally. Believe me, fans it’s not going to be pretty what happens to him.

The wedding goes off without a hitch. Well…… maybe there’s a little hiccup when Leah has to confront one of the “bad actors” before the wedding. Jaw-dropping scene! The Epilogue gives us one of the most romantic HEA’S . Matt and Leah present their wedding gifts to each other. Love it!
Get ready for a great read. You might want to take some notes. There are a few nuggets that Ms Bolling inserts in the story that are bound to come up later in the next book. I highly recommend A FAMILY AFFAIR for your reading pleasure.

It’s a family affair!

This was another great story and update on my favorite Lassiter family. Matthew and Leah finally made it to their wedding day, but of course it didn’t come without some drama. But of course love wins every time and the Lassiter’s always have each other’s backs and provide plenty of laughs throughout.

This author knows how to write a villain and problematic person, especially a parent who doesn’t know how to act. She also writes the supportive friends and family well too. Leah’s father was still causing problems and we got to see where he got his mindset from. But nobody was going to let him ruin his daughter’s wedding day or her time with her mother.

I love Joe and Sally and how they treat their kids like the adults they are and how they worked hard at not raising their kids the same negative ways they were. I wish more parents would do this instead of saying this was how I was raised and I turned out okay. Sometimes generational curses are with how we treat each other and raise our children in toxicity and not recognizing them as adults or even people with their own minds and thoughts. But Ms. Bolling nails this every time with this family and I love it.

I can’t wait to see what happens next with Jade and Blake’s Christmas wedding and I hope some things that were not resolved in this story get resolved then.

What a wild ride!!!

First, I thought that antebellum group was dispensed with. Second, that council woman is by her name Puerto Rican, does she not know that group does not like her any more than they like Black people? Now to the meat of this story I have not laughed this hard since I read Olivia Gaines latest release. To say the Lassiter clan and all of their friends and extended family are always ready for prime time is an absolute understatement! The quickness with which they give out butt whoppings is enough to have you rolling on the floor laughing. I like that some family fences were mended, others have the propensity to be healed and still others seem like they are going to present a real live problem. I can hardly wait to see what Cynthia's mama and Cynthia's daughter's so called mentor are up to! Not to worry though the Lassiter's will always take care of business! Mrs. Bolling, thank you for Matthew and Leah's story it was mind boggling to put it mildly. Now on to the Lassiter Christmas where I hope many of these issues will be resolved. This was an excellent read!!! Can we have all of these series in audibook please?

Okay, I never thought I would make this statement, but... I liked this story, but I did not love it. The anticipation, maybe, was self-imposed hype. Mathew is and always has been one of my favorites as he is the Lassiter with one of the noblest career choices as an educator. Matthew has the chance to build and develop students into good citizens. Unfortunately, the drama in this one with Leah's father also left me frustrated in the end with his consequences. Please don't take this the wrong way; again, I was looking for the chance for a big shebang. Shrugs... that's my point of view. The story was good, and the wedding was very nice. I could see the next novel's buildup in the hints about Nate Reigns' case and Blake's mom's antics. I am ready for Jade's wedding.

Love takes care of what it Loves

Matthew and Leah’s story was so sweet. In spite of Leah’s Crazy father and his mean spiritedness. The story showed the many depths of family love and the lengths people will go to to protect those that they Love Matthew had to swallow his pride when it came to accepting a gift of love from his brother and not looking at it as a form of charity. I could not help but smile when Matthew opened his wedding gift from Leah🥰.

I am looking forward to seeing if anything comes out of the relationship between Terry and Cousin Jessie James Lassiter
They may make the next dynamic Lassiter couple after Jade and Blake’s story☺️ “I’m just saying “😂😂 fun read

ADONIS!!!!

Miss Ma'am!!!!! I absolutely love you AND this family!!!!! You weave stories so effortlessly, the way they intertwine without feeling forced is awesome. I loved Matt and Leah's story and am so glad they got their wedding and their time to shine. In writing Matt's story, I feel you've addressed a common theme with our men.... Not wanting hand outs or feeling the pressure society puts on them when it comes to providing for their family. Lastly, I've noticed a person who's intricately entwine in all other stories almost since her birth, and I feel as if its your way of preparing us for the next generation in this family. I 👀 U SAMANTHA LASSITER 🤔😏

A Bus Caravan To Love

Matt and Leah, what a down to earth couple. I have fallen in live with the Lassiters and everyone the encompasses this Family dynamic. Matt and Leah have an example of love from everywhere they look. They are steadfast in their walk to FOREVERMORE together.

BTW: I only have one drawback Mrs. Iris. Why are you allowing the twelve siblings to call Sally by her first name? Shows a lack of respect to me, but I'm old school, that's me. Would love to know why you decided that.

Well on to the next wedding. Loving this series.

All in the name of love

This story really showed us forgiveness, family, tolerance, and love to name a few. Loved catching up with the Lassiters but also finally meeting Leah’s mom. I also loved the breaking of generational curses that seem to surround Leah’s paternal family. Matt & Leah’s love for one another was evident in how they spoke to one another and loved on each other.

Another excellent storyline

Hilarious, and heartwarming at the same time

Ever since the first book, I fell in love with the Lassiter family. When I started reading their books, only Sammy was married. Now, one by one, they have all gotten married and it has never been a disappointment. It's great to get updates on all the other family members but it wouldn't be an Iris Bolling book without twists and turns dealing with family. I can't wait for the next one to come out!!!

Matthew and Leah's journey to holy matrimony encountered some drama especially when family gets involved. Loved the storyline and there were some hilarious moments in this book as well as some eye-opening ones. Always love reading the Lassiters. Joe and Sally's love shines through their offspring and that love extends to the in-laws even though some need a beatdown.

Great story and writing. Hats off to Ms. Bolling!

Another Amazing Lasseter Love Story

I have never wanted to be a part of s fictional family so bad! Lol I always enjoy the Lasseter antics but it's mostly their bond and love that has me so attached. This book was no different. A quick read, took about half a day, but a great one. I'm so glad I waited to read it until the next one was out because I am dying to know what happens from here.

love and loyalty

This book had me mad, sad, happy, and laughing. This is my first novel by this author but will not be my last. Since I started in the middle of the series I will be going back to the beginning. The Lassiter showed what a family looks like standing together. Through the good and the bad family was important to them even the family members that are hard to love. I would recommend this book.

Another Winner!!!

Where do I begin with this review? There's absolutely nothing that I didn't love about this story!!! As always Iris Bolling is a pure genius at weaving words together, dropping little nuggets here and there, and above all throwing her readers curve balls and change ups. I must admit that the Queen Of The Curveball has struck again!!!

Matt and Leah

Third book in the series was nothing less than awesome. Between Leah’s father and Cynthia’s mother I don’t know who is worse. This series is shaping up to be a classic Iris series. If you know Iris Bolling you know her penchant for violence and I’m here for all of it

Matt Lassiter and Leah Saxton are getting married. There was lots of family drama because of Leah's crazy father. He was doing his best to stop the wedding. He made the mistake of hitting Sally Lassiter. I loved how the Lassisters and his ex-wife's husband put him in his place. It is great how the Lassiters and their extended family are so supportive of each other.

Must Read!

Matthew and Leah's story was a definite eye opener. So many twists, turns, and secrets revealed. I don't know whom I detest more: Sofia or Lyle. Both need to more than a serious beat down. They need devine deliverence from their inner demons. I can't wait for the final Lassiter sibling, Jade, to get married.

There is drama on top of drama in this story. Blackmail, lawsuits, fights, all centered around planning a wedding. Will Matthew and Leah get to the alter before someone get killed or goes to jail?

Family Love

This book is a story about true family love. The type of love that lasts through ups and downs and everyone sticks together through it all. All the siblings as well as the spouses bond together for all causes. This is a family that truly adopted the philosophy of together forever. I really liked this book and story line.

Family Affair

I enjoyed the book overall. I will go back and read books 1 & 2. I love the love story between Matt and Leah. I learned there are some families that will do anything to save their family, not sure if that is good or bad. I will be reading more books by this author. I enjoyed this book and encouraged others to read it too.
