Take my advice, as it might save your life: Never make a deal with Hades.
And while you’re at it, don’t let his sexy degenerate son seduce you—as if you’d be able to resist him. The Ace of the Underworld always gets exactly what he wants.
I’ve been trying to fly under the radar my whole life. With angry Gods from every known mythology claiming slices of our world, mortals all live in fear. But at least the Gods keep their distance. Their arrogant, cruelly beautiful offspring seem to relish tormenting us.
I would have continued to take their punches in silence, but they made a huge mistake when they took my sister, Quinn. My only option now is to do the unthinkable and sell my soul to Hades. I’ll have one chance to save her, but that means aligning myself with the sexiest, most dangerous Demigod of them all.

I’m going through my ‘currently reading’ list to finish up the books I’ve put on pause for the longest. This was one of them. Jumping back into the story, I was immediately reminded of why I had it paused for so long. It bored me. Note, whenever you’re reading and you find your mind drifting, it’s never a good sign. I pushed through though because I wanted to give a fair review. Unfortunately, the story did not improve for me. It was not outlandishly bad, but it also is not something I would read again or even recommend.
Neither of the MCs endeared themselves to me and I honestly did not care whether they lived or died. I had zero interest in their stories or motivations- which, to be honest, we didn’t even get. Jackie is obsessed with her sister, for reasons unknown. I say that not to be snarky, but because we LITERALLY don’t know why she’s willing to make a deal with the literal devil to get her back. Nor do we get any background where we can say, ‘oh, they’re really close and can’t live without each other’ to kind of explain this ferocious need to rescue her.
Ace is not much better. We just know he’s the bastard - at least one of the many - son of Hades who, for all intents and purposes, wants him dead. Story and characters are all quite forgettable. Blast! I’m trying to remember characters and plot points as I type and I JUST read the book.
It gets 3 stars because while I did not hate or love it, it didn’t have any typos or needed edits. So it really is just smack in the middle.
This is my first book by this author and i'm happily surprised. It's a promising first book with some great twists, humour, romance, mixed mythologies and interesting characters. I like Ace....he is obvious to certain things but deep down he is a good guy despite being Hadès son,he wants to protect his loved ones but for that he must play difficult games as not to get on gods by side...when a mortal ask to reach the demigod statut he is baffled but she does not back down depiste his warning so suddenly he has to take care of her and for once seduction pay not be enough to protect his heart.
Jackie was trying to stay low, unnoticed but that was before. Now her dear sister has disappeared and she is ready to do anything to save her.....even bargain with Hadès. However being a demigoddess is not making things easier and with a deadline before Hadès comes to claim her soul. Trying to climb demigod city hierarchy and traps would not be possible with Ace at her side and her feelings for him don't need to be faked....
But secret, misundertandings complicate matter and time is tickling...
oh really that was great but Jackie is a bit too impulsive for my taste and the cliffhanger arg i hate those so next book can't be done fast enough.
If you want a good, steamy urban fantasy with divinities from several pantheons, demi gods you will want to punch ( most of them anyway Makao is great, deschaun not so bad) this is a good book to try
I enjoyed this book. This is my 1st book by the author. I can say after reading this book I will definitely check out her other books. If you like books about Mythology then this one’s for you. This one has a different take on the Gods as characters then most of the books I have read lately with Gods in them. The Gods in this story are not so nice. They have taken the over the human world. Each God has their own district. Hades district is the worst. He’s one of the meanest. Then there are the Gods children the Demigods and goddesses roaming about. Jackie lives in the Hades district. She just lives her life day to day. She’s trying to stay off the Gods and everyone’s radar. That is until her sister Quinn goes missing. She knows what she must do to find her. That’s how she ends up at Hades temple. Once there she meets Ace. Ace is Hades son. He warns her not to make a deal with his father. But she doesn’t listen and does it anyway. Now Ace is stuck with her. She convinced Ace to help her find her sister. Now all they have to do is get in with the popular Demigod’s and Goddesses. Good luck with that. Read the book to find out what happens to Jackie and Ace.
Ace of Seduction is the first book the Fate of Demigods series. Ace of Seduction was a fantastic story by a new to me author. Jackie is mortal, teams up with Ace to save her sister, Quinn. Ace is Hades son and is a demigod. This was a freakin rollercoaster ride of emotions. The characters are also really well written, they’re complex and complicated. The world building and plot twists and turns are seriously good! Ace of Seduction sucked me and didn’t let me go very easily. Overall, a fantastic new to me author! Well written with great pacing!
Mortal Jackie (FMC) makes a deal with Hades that changes her into a Demi-Goddess for a little while so that she can find her sister - Quinn. Not only does that start her on a journey across the Underworld, Demigod City and Olympus but she does it with Hades son - Ace. A god of Seduction.
I loved Jackie. She was fun and funny with a charming sweetness as well as plenty of wit. She was the perfect opposite to Ace. Who was a somewhat jaded by his life and how he was perceived by others.
This first book in this series was a great read with a brilliant cliffhanger ending. Bring on book 2
Ace of Seduction is a must read of a novel. It's a girl meets boy, boy warns girl, girl makes mistake and now the clock is ticking on her life. Can you imagine? Jackie wants to find her sister who is missing. So what does she do? She makes a deal with the devil. Ace tries to tell her - "don't do it." But she does and the price is higher than she could have ever imagined. But there's more. In this exchange of power between Jackie and Hades...there is exactly that. Hades gives something up, but when he finds out what has happened...there's going to be big trouble. I loved this book. The characters are flawed, but it works. Jackie isn't a total brat, the author keeps things cute...for the most part. I love the interracial factor, though it takes a bit for the pieces to come together on that front. But I devoured this book. I just wish that there was more actual steamy in this book. It would really take this novel up a notch. You get hints of it between them, but none that's really heating up the pages like I'd want. But I can't wait to find out what happens next. I'm rating this book 4 out of 5 stars.
"What the hell! You don't touch a black girl's hair!"
First of all, my hats off to the author for giving us a sneakily diverse cast of characters. The name dropping of the gods and goddesses was absolutely insane and spoke of either a life long interest in mythology or a heck of a lot of studying for this book. Recommendations for mythology based books have been appearing in requests again, and this one is so immersive and inclusive of al the pantheons in history, that it is for sure going to be a top tier suggestion for me. Plus, Jackie and Ace's differences gave us that gold quote up above, that really made me laugh out loud in a book that really wasn't written as a comedy.
Brittni really gave us two main characters woven together with some threads that were fascinating. I was appreciating the story line as it meandered along a route I was pretty certain of, until suddenly the rug was pulled out from my feet. I spent the last 20 or 30 pages with my jaw dropped and wondering when the next book would be out. Ace is everything we want in our book boyfriends, with added charisma of being the god of seduction. And oh my goodness did that play out. This book was wildly steamy as it played off Ace's gifts. Ace is a tease, and Brittni is no different as she edged us along in her story. I'm sincerely hoping that the publication schedule is quick, and that we can jump back into the cliffhanger where we left Jackie and Ace.
Just so nobody is mislead by the copy … there are no love scenes in this book (well there is one half of one if I’m being precise). This story ends in a cliffhanger. This reads like a young adult fantasy. That said this is an intriguing world, and the premise has an enormous amount of potential. This is a new take on ancient gods that I’d love for this author to explore more. The writing is good but I just couldn’t get behind the characters. I want to know more about these characters. I need more backstory more emotional conflict and I need for the stakes that are established at the beginning of the story to have a much bigger impact on the characters and in the story. It would be great to see more character development and a more fully fleshed out storyline. This is such a great idea that it doesn’t need love scenes to be great. What it needs is a bit more work. Give us twists and pitfalls. Make us gasp. Why is the main character so obsessed with finding her sister? Why is she willing to sacrifice so much? Give us enough that we don’t question the believability of the character’s choices. Make the male lead enigmatic but compelling. Give him a clear motive fueled by an emotional past. Again so much potential…. A talented writer.
I ALMOST judged this book by its cover. Don’t make the same mistake.
Jackie Ross was tired of living with her drunk mom in her shitty trailer home. Her sister probably felt the same way causing her to leave her family after being turned into a demigoddess. After receiving no letters from her sister and being fed up with the state of her life, Jackie felt hopeless and turned to the god of hopelessness for help. Yup, she turned to Hades for help. Jackie sold her soul to Hades in hopes of finding her sister in Olympus. What she found there was a rollercoaster of emotions.
Pros: This book was so fun to read as a lover of Greek mythology. I’m usually pretty good at predicting plot twists early in the book, but this plot twist surprised me. I enjoyed the banter between the love interests Jackie and Ace. I loved the sexual tension between them as well.
Cons: I wish we got the sex scene in the book instead of the fade to black moment. Also, the world building was a little vague. I think it could’ve been fleshed out more but I assume we’ll get more of that in the second book. Last con.. that cliffhanger cut me so deep. I can’t believe I’ll have to wait months for the next book.
This was my first time reading Brittni Chenelle’s work and I am NOT disappointed! If you’re a fan of dark paranormal romances featuring demigods then Ace of Seduction is the one for you as the first book in the Fate of The Demigods series was utterly captivating!
Our fabulous FMC Jackie resides in a world where mere mortals live in fear of all the mythological Gods as they continue to split the world and wreck havoc and chaos at will—but they make a mistake when they dare take her sister so now she’s off to the underworld to make a deal with Hades…and gets way more than she bargained for with his super sexy son Ace and realizes that things may never be the same again because nothing is what it seems when surrounded by Gods and Demigods alike.
Overall this is a fun intriguing unique mythological perspective that’s full of fabulous twists and turns and enough intrigue to keep you guessing! I loved Jackie and Ace and loved watching their relationship come together. And I love nothing more than a deliciously captivating cliffhanger and this one totally delivered!!! I can’t wait for the next book!!!
I received this book as an ACR for an honest review and this is my first time reading a book from her, so no bias here.
Summary - a mortal (FMC,) Jackie goes to Hades to become a demigod where she meets Ace (MMC) Hades's son. They have a forced proximity kind, fake dating, enemies to lovers thing going on which was cool. They work together to reach their goals and fall in love during that time.
Honestly the book was a decent read, not the best I have read but not the worst either. Therefore I give it a solid 3 stars.
My main pain points about the book were : - - plot felt rushed in certain parts and honestly the word count wasn't sufficient for the plot - characters were not developed enough, I would have liked more from the characters - no scenes really stood out in the book to leave an impact - the plot didn't feel developed enough
Jackie, a mortal, and Ace, a demigod with the power of seduction, and thrown together after Jackie risks everything by making a deal with Hades in order to find her sister Quinn. She knows that the gods and demigods can't be trusted but she also knows she can't find Quinn without Ace's help. But Ace isn't everything he appears and has a mission of his own and if they work together they both may get what they want and possibly something they aren't expecting First let me say I LOVE Mythology and this book gives you a peep into some characters from all the areas of mythology. From the first chapter I was hooked. So much so that at a certain part of the book I had to put it down and walk away for a while because I couldn't figure out how our 2 main characters would make it over this hurdle. The book ended with me wanting more and I can't wait to see what's going to happen next.
WOW! This is the first book I have read by this author, and I am excited to read more.
This story was highly entertaining, with twists and turns, suspense, drama, angst and some very unique and interesting characters. The story kept me fully engaged, turning the pages quickly just to see how it all turns out and then it shocked me with how it ended.
Jackie is a phenomenal character. She’s witty, strong, fierce and very devoted to finding out what happened to her sister. I loved her spirit and feistiness when it came to her interactions with Ace. They have such a great connection that is rife with sexual chemistry. But Ace is hiding many secrets that could destroy their friendship and any potential relationship they could have.
Great story with an unexpected ending that has left me wanting more. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
In her search for her sister, Jackie meets Ace, the son of Hades and the demigod of Seduction. Jackie’s sister, Quinn, has gone to Demigod City to try to make changes in favor of the mortals that are being oppressed by the gods and demigods. 6 months have gone since her last letter and Jackie has become desperate and makes a deal with the devil himself, Hades. It takes her on an eventful and unexpected journey through the Underworld to Demigod City. Everyone she meets only has eyes for their own affairs. Nobody can be trusted, especially not the Ace of Seduction. But what’s a beautiful gal to do when the heart wants what it should not have? This book ends on a cliffhanger and I am looking so much forward to reading the next book to find out where it will all end. If you like close proximity romance with a touch of devinity, this will be for you. I recommend this book.
Never make a deal with the devil. Too bad Jackie already have done one. Noble goal behind the decision, trying to find her missing sister, but you all know the old saying about the best intentions and the road to hell... now Jackie has to pay the price for the deal. And with Hades, the price will surely be higher than she might be willing to pay, higher than she expected. The story is fast paced and twisting, with a wide cast of diverse characters that charge the story with the energy it has. For me, Jackie wasn't the most likable character I ever encountered in a book, but I did not hate her either, and with Hades + Ace in the game the relationships became fairly entertaining. Especially with Ace's talents when they become unhinged - he isn't the god of seduction for nothing. I enjoyed the story and look forward to the next book.
I'm in love! Seriously, Ace and Jackie are now on my top 5 favorite book couples.
I was intrigued by the concept this book had as I don't really see too many Demigod books out there so of course I had to pick this one up! How demigods become made is honestly really unique and I'm still massively piqued by how the demigods powers work especially the passive ones. I wish we could have gotten a little bit better description on their power as well as the world/districts. I absolutely adored the POV's of both Jackie and Ace. It was interesting to see them fall in love with each other and I didn't see that plot twist coming at all. Jackie and Ace seem to have a quirky vibe to their relationship that makes them see all the more human in a way.
This book was a pleasure to read and I kinda in tears having to wait for book 2!
Ace of Seduction is book one of the new Fate of the Demigods series, and starts off with the story of Ace, the son of Hades, and mortal Jackie Ross. With angry Gods from every known mythology claiming slices of the world, mere mortals all live in fear, and living in the Hades district might just be one of the worst. While desperately searching for her sister Quinn, Jackie turns to the last place she ever thought she would go, Hades temple/shrine. Once there, she meets the devastatingly handsome Ace, who tries to warn her against making a deal with Hades but without other options, she sells her soul if she ever wants a chance to see her sister again. This book ends on a cliffhanger, so hopefully the next book will be out soon. I can't wait to see what happens next.
This is such an exciting story. Its not just myths or gods or gangsters in gorgeous disguises or dystopian or romance. It's actually all of those things where the world building is unique, the story is twisty with a heat level that is, well seductive, and the characters are definitely NOT surface deep. From start to finish, this plot carries you quickly away and the writing style is so enthralling your at the end of book 1 before you realize it.
Quite simply, Fate of the Demigods needs to be on your list.
P.S. I've been wanting the next Repressed Royals book (Chaste Blood is so, so good), but I'll forgive Brittni for offering up Ace of Seduction first.
I love mythology, and love reading anything based on it, so I was looking forward to this. I was a bit disappointed that Artemis was a man in this one though, as she is one of my favourite Greek goddesses.
There were some great plot twists in here that I definitely didn't see coming, but at the same time there were plot elements that could definitely have been explored more. I would have liked a bit more depth in the building of the relationship between the main characters, too.
A couple of annoying things that should have been picked up by proofreading put me off a bit, including a misspelling of 'champagne', but they weren't frequent enough to be a real problem.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Demigods are sexy, arrogant, and complicated. If you like forced proximity romance, you should check this book out. I love that Jackie is a disaster and does not care what anyone thinks. She has confidence that helps her when she becomes a demigoddess herself sired by Hades. Ace becomes enamored with Jackie the moment he meets her in Hades' temple but like an alpha he tries to deny his feelings. I was so happy with Ace finally accepted his love for Jackie and recognized her as his missing piece. I did not put the puzzle pieces together on the mystery until Ace found out and I was shaken. This book leaves off on a cliffhanger and I’m going to be stalking the internet for the next book in the Fate of the Demigods series.
Oh boy, this book was on fire! I'm not one to judge a book by its cover, but this is one of those instances where it fit perfectly! Jackie has been pushed to the unthinkable after her sister was taken, but it was necessary to make a deal with the devil, aka Hades. However, this deal does put Hade's son Ace right on her radar, and she did not expect him to make her feel more heat than all the fires of hell. Ace is not someone she should be getting closer to, but she does not have a choice, especially if she wants to find her sister Quinn. Ace of Seduction was full of mythology, wonderful world building, fantastic characters, heat filled romance and an addicting storyline! I cannot wait to see what is next for the Fate of the Demigods series!
This is a brilliant take on gods and demi-gods and the idea that they have a presence on earth!
The gods and demi-gods are really interestingly written and true to form are incredibly beautiful, but they are proving to be just as cruel in this book!
I really feel for Jackie as she has lost her sister and is trying to make a better life for herself in a world where it is incredibly hard to do so if you aren't a demi-god or above. Her character is written very well and her actions bleed desperation! It's amazing to read.
Ace is just as stuck as Jackie is despite being a demi-god and you can really draw parallels with their situations! Their relationship is complicated and I look forward to unpicking it more as the series continues!
I’m utterly broken I went down the rabbit hole with another one of her books but she’s already written another completely different book so 9/10 she’s probably not going to write a second book this book is definitely a 8.5 but she’s getting a low score For scorching my heart with this cliffhanger yet again I’m gonna straight out tell you don’t waste your time, but if you choose to, you will fall in love, and be enamored with this fantastic tale, and the beautiful writing is suppose the only thing that bothered me was there was a rated X cut and then ask for you to sign up in order to read it and I just don’t want to.
read it your own risk. The cliffhanger is horrible.
I had read this author before and was anxious to read this new one by her. It did take me a little bit to get engaged in this, but once I did, I was hooked. Jackie is an interesting character, who suffers a lot in her life. When she gets desperate, she makes a deal that changes her life and not for the better. We then meet Ace, a demigod who is disappointed in his life choices. They explode, and we are along for the ride. I enjoyed this book, and then when we find out some jaw-dropping information, I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. I am eagerly awaiting the next in the series. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
Brittni Chenelle is a new to me author, but I will definitely be reading more of her books!
Ace of Seduction involves a young woman who desperately needs to find her sister, a demigoddess, who has been missing. She meets Hades’ son, Ace, and together they become entangled in the hierarchy of the Gods and their offspring.
This was an incredibly well written book, with lots of heart and ‘soul’. Unexpected interactions and false information lead to plot twists that enhance the story, pulling readers in and keeping the pace of the adventure exciting. You’ll want to know that the storyline will continue in a following book, but I can recommend it will be worth the wait!
The first book of the series and boy does it get good. Ace may the title but Jackie is the star of the story. A mortal living in a world run by the gods of several mythologies and the demigods. She will do anything to find her sister and even selling her soul and more to Hades. Don’t make deals with the gods. They will never go well. Then there is Ace, a demigod who has the power of seduction and definitely uses it. His motives are not good and hurting the innocent like Jackie isn’t a proxy for him. But things will change as lies and deceptions come into the light. Ends in a big cliffhanger that will leave you needing the next book right away.
Wow this is the first book I have read by B.C. I am addicted. I couldn't put it down. It was a quick read for me. I just love Jackie and Ace's story. It is such a unique love. First off Jackie is a curvy independent woman with nothing to loose. She makes a deal with Hades and loose more than she bargains for a long the way. I really liked how it was from both Jackie and Ace's point of view. You really get to see how their attraction plays out. Talk about an over the top steamy. My favorite part is how she gets her in at the fashion show!! There is some surprises along the way. Things that I didn't see come. And the cliffhanger at the end wow. I can not wait for the next book!!!!
The good - I enjoy Brittni Chenelle’s stories. Her world building is good, her characters are interesting. With this particular book, I like the idea of all the gods coexisting, e.g. Hades, Orisha, Anubis. The meh - There isn’t enough heat for my tastes. The bad - Ms. Chenelle spends a lot of the book stretching out events, and then sprints at the end. She also doesn’t finish series. This is the second time I have read one of her books only to realize it’s part of a series without a timeframe for the next installment. (I read Blood Chaste at least a year ago and there hasn’t been an update on the next book.)
I thought this take on the demigods and Gods was a really interesting one. It combined gods from several mythos! Our sweet little FMC is so naive and we see right away that she butts heads with our MMC. However, their fake relationship soon turns more genuine. Jackie is searching for her sister Quinn, and in doing so uncovers lots of secrets and drama within the demigods. I really like the cliffhanger that we're left with and I'm very interested to see if and how her deal with Hades is affected. READ THIS BOOK PEOPLE!
