Tasked with finding her a husband, he concludes he is the best choice. When Mr. Bennet collects on an old debt, Fitzwilliam finds himself in the strange position of inviting Lizzy to London on a secret mission to find her a husband. She isn’t to know his intentions, per his promise to her father, but as he introduces her to men of the Ton, he finds it increasingly difficult to imagine Lizzy marrying anyone but him. Will she move past her refusal to ever marry and accept his proposal? If she does, how will she react when she learns of the scheme her father invented and he undertook? Can Lizzy get past her obstinacy to see the motivation behind his obligation?
This is the sensualversion of “Obstinacy & Obligation” and HAS intimate scenes. The stories are otherwise virtually the same, so you can choose whether you prefer SWEET OR HEAT.
With a past connection, it was interesting to see Darcy involved with the Bennetts this way. It was very creative for Mr Bennet to consider Darcy’s debt to him this way. I enjoyed the very headstrong Lizzy with all her own thoughts and decisions. Watching the forced proximity situation nurture things along was also nice. Yes a bit more sensual than typical P&P variations, but fit oh so well with this beloved couple.
Papa Bennet saves a young Darcy from highwaymen. In exchange he reaches out to him to help Lizzy find a husband by sponsoring her on the ton. Of course, Darcy falls for Lizzy instead. My Fair Lady vibes.
