I like the illustrations and my 7 yr old really enjoys the new graphic novels; but this one added a bunch that wasn’t in the original book. It even added a whole new character who wasn’t in the original book.
Eddie's great aunt is sick and Eddie goes with Howie to bring her soup. Howie sees a face in the attic window so the rest of their friends all have to go back to make sure it's safe for Eddie's great aunt. Weird things happen, strange sounds come from the attic. Could there be a ghost? Could potato chips lead to an answer? Exciting and scary for the kids they have to look and see but they're afraid.
Do ghosts really eat potato chips?! After a few strange events the kids of Bailey school are convinced they’ve found a ghost in a haunted house, unexplained attic door opening, burnt tuna casserole cleared from the pan and a chip trail that leads upstairs right to the attic. Is it a ghost or something else Read to find out
Graphic novella, having not consulted the source material I can't comment on the adaptation. Super quick read, we got through it in one session, I would be agitated if I had purchased it. I am also not a huge fan of computer-generated art; I find it generally blocky and repetitive. Maybe I am not just ready for it.
J - (5 stars) I liked how there was weird things happening and at the end the ghost finally got what he wanted. I liked how there was a bite out of the burger and how the box reminded her of the coffin from Vampires Don't Wear Polkadots. That's it.
S - (5 stars) I like it when the cat was eating rhe potato chips and they said "ghosts don't eat potato chips" and they kept saying potato chips.

I am definitely biased when it comes to this series because I remember loving the novel version when I was a kid. I think that makes me expect more from it.
Still, it's a cute graphic novel. Well-paced, easy to read and has a satisfying ending.
Good read; NOT scary for young readers. Good lessons about taking care of family members. We intended to split this up over a few days but honestly the whole book can be read out loud in about 20 minutes so we finished it in one night. Also, it seemed better to get closure before my so fell asleep so that he wasn’t thinking about ghosts lol. It ends on a very positive note.
Can be read as a stand alone and does not require knowledge of the other books or the book it’s based on.
